I saw the blood as a lot more silly than disturbing, given the amount. It was like the artist saying "I have no idea how much blood there is, I just know it's there" and winging it.

Maybe they just have a thing for it.

Considering the guro/vore doujin on the reader, I think it's safe to say this is the more likely explanation.

@Cloy552 I'm not sure about an Age Gap tag, it get's into a confusing area in terms of tags when characters from fantasy who are thousands of years old but look like a 20 year old are involved.

Yeah, the artists shipping of them that shows in other fan-art by them indicated that this picture is most likely intended as a shipping picture.

It wasn't a statement of "these two can't be yuri", it was a direct reply to the two people above me at the time of posting, of which there was only 4 or so, who were asking about the tag Futanari which it had been tagged with. It wasn't a denial of trans girls or relations between them being yuri (which it wasn't tagged with at the time, due to concerns over whether it was intended to be that or not), but a explanation of why it was futanari. It was phrased somewhat badly, apologies for that, but it got taken out of context pretty badly subsequently, and snowballed from there.

We didn't seem to have any direct evidence from the comic as to whether she was trans or not, and with the source saying futanari I tagged it with that. After feedback, I've added Trans to it as well, but I am highly in favour of asking Pito for their original intent, and hope that will work out.

Actually, we do. Let me remind you all that Tomboy wasn't originally intended as a transgender movie, but it ended up consagrated as so by the transmasculine community. I studied communication theory in college a while back, and one thing I've learned was that the author has absolutely no control over how their work is going to be interpreted by others (see the lovely book "The Open Work" by Umberto Eco for a reference).

I think what they were trying to say was, the tags should be left factual and not based on feeling or opinion. You are free to feel any way about a work regardless of official statement or stance from the author, but factually, the author has the final say.

I understand that. What I meant is that "factual" is relative to the context. In the Tomboy example, if we simply took the director's opinion on the matter, we'd be left without a great movie about trans men. Say, for example, that we had a story with an amab (assigned male at birth) character that clearly identifies as a woman (including, for example, undergoing HRT and seeking judicial name change), but the work itself had been marked as "crossdresser" by the author. It would still be a story about a trans woman, because that's how we would see the character. At the end of the day, how a work is perceived by people is far more important than the author's original intentions.

BUT, this is not the case here. This work is pretty ambiguous, and the discussion has been going on for a while, so I agree that seeking the author's opinion could be one way to settle the debate.

The thing is, Pito is korean. Different languages have different perspectives; from their point of view, 'futanari' might just mean 'female character with a dick', rather than the specific definition for it we have in English.

That does make it more difficult if true...Hopefully there can be some clarification though.

Kind of a bummer that lacking explicit authorial permission is being set up as a shield to justify transphobia. Apparently trans goggles must be kept under lock and key. But I'm glad Nez is on team yuri and I do hope they succeed in reaching out to PITO.

Asking the author themself what they intended is hardly justifying transphobia. It's just trying to clarify the original intent.
There's been a lot of talk on the matter, and things like the people pointing out that the original Twitter posts say "futanari" while the Tumblr post is "Transgender", so asking would help clear that up. There've been opinions from multiple views on this release and what to tag it, and asking Pito what they actually intended would clear everything up and define what to tag it as.

I think it just started using the class names as a tag cause initially I was only aware of them through works that called them mainly by the class name, stuff like Rider and all that. Again, I have no idea about this stuff, so I can't really pass judgement on it. Do you and others think it would be better to use real names? Or a mixture of the class and real names even.

I should probably start fixing any pairing tags that are incorrect or mislabeled soon. If you have any feedback on the tags used at the minute, it would be appreciated.

Arguments about tagging aside, I definitely like this world where tipsy women are randomly flirting with cute girls on the street and the only objection raised is "she looks a bit young, doesn't she?" The fact that she apparently has a dick being less noteworthy than her killer abs is also A++
