The clues we have make it rather obvious no? I mean there doesn't seem to be anything strange or exceptional about it. Her mother is a super typical garden-variety Asian mom who demands the best for&from her daughter and will get into fights with anyone who goes against her wishes. We see her fighting with her husband for not being a good enough father; she's likely to fight with the school teachers as well; and if the girl was into sports she would certainly fight with the coaches asking for better treatment, more opportunities, etc.! Mom characters like her are a big classic trope in tv series, comics, movies...

The child with such a mom has of course ambivalent feelings towards her.

I didnt get ANY of the rest of that information out of it. You could assume that shes strict because she doesnt let Lin Luxi go out with any friends but then you could also assume that shes protective of her safety or perhaps shes clingy. I also didnt know that it was a trope that mothers who fight with their husbands also fight with people outside of the family?? The mothers I've known in broken marriages are basically the complete opposite with other people because they put on a very strong "happy family, happy wife" facade to cover up their deeply shameful brokenness.

I guess what you're saying is that shes a "tiger parent" which is a common Chinese stereotype. I don't want to assume that just because this manhua is Chinese, I'd rather actually receive more information about it through the story. I get that we're not going to be given that information through an exposition dump which I totally respect but that one little bite of information really baited me in just to totally leave us hanging.

Just wanted to point out that manhua tends to be written for a Chinese audience that doesn't assume it'll be translated so cultural stereotypes and common knowledge is something the author expects the reader to know. If you don't know then you just have to learn cause the original work was never meant for non-Chinese audiences anyways.

Ohhh rip. I read the reviews for the LN version of this on novelupdates and it does not inspire any confidence in the story direction that this will go... I think I'm gonna have to pass on this despite how nice the art looks.

Inspired by Bloom Into You but falling completely short and shallow compared to it is a harsh review I read, but tbh the convoluted title was already a red flag for me. I'd rather just reread Bloom Into You. Dunno why but all of the yuri LN I've read with long ass titles (a staple of JP LN in general tbh...) end up disappointing me so I already feel apprehensive giving them a chance.

Well today's max risk was hard to pull off. I had to micromanage deployment time, deployment order, and skill timing. Basically you have to deploy a defender last to tank the sniper guys and the stun snipers are equally a pain. There's very little wiggle room if you make a mistake, but hey, at least I did it!

Also one thing I really like with Arknights is how there's minimal power creep and the operators we have from the very beginning are still viable and in fact still in the top of their roles. Examples being Ange, Eyja, Silverash, Saria, etc.

Rip, my units weren't leveled enough to do today's max risk, but I did manage risk 12. Just didn't have enough attack to kill everything =_=

Also lol yeah I saw the translation for that. I really like the little easter eggs the devs put into Arknights. Like the FBI OPEN UP line Vigna used and Emperor's entire existence lol

I'm so close to getting Xiao to 90, but God I wish I had a better weapon. If I realized how bad Deathmatch was for him, I would've just bought the Blackcliff polearm when I had the chance... now I gotta wait a month till it comes back on rotation...

The reason it's bad for him is cause his innate attribute that increases with ascension is crit rate and there's literally no need to go above 70% crit rate for anyone and you should be stacking crit dmg after. With Deathmatch, my Xiao's crit rate is like, 88% and that's just so unnecessary. I just hate how I'm gonna need to wait a month till Blackcliff comes back TvT

On another note, the max risk for today was pretty easy. Ange + Exusiai duo'ed the possessed dudes easily as long as you time their skills right. Only having 1 box to use wasn't even a problem and it was basically a free 3 risk tag lol.

Cleared the daily's max risk... roast them till they die is a surprisingly viable strat in a lot of situations huh!

ALSO SPOILERS FOR NEW CN EVENT: Kroos grew up!!! AND she looks super hot wtf... 5 star Kroos when?

Tbh I think it's funnier how she still hasn't opened her eyes LOL. Kroos grown up = 5 stars, Kroos with eyes open = 6 stars probably.

The strategy to deal with Faust's attacks is to have your defender be the last person deployed so they can tank all his shots. If the crit shot is giving you trouble then bring Gravel 2nd skill and just match the timing so she can tank the shot. Pretty sure a decently leveled defender is enough though if you don't take any Faust tags.

Okay cleared risk 18. Thorns is literally OP lol. Also Phantom was there but didn't actually do anything. Gravel however, is the MVP here tanking all the crit shots from Faust.

I also cleared the daily map with risk 8 but I'm probs gonna put off trying to max risk it tomorrow since I forgot CC started today and my brain just isn't in the mood to think rn.

Only did 10 pulls and got Greythroat. Didn't really expect to get anything so I don't mind getting an extra pot for her. I'm still saving everything I got for Surtr's banner so I'll just be waiting for her.

Yeah it sure is an investment. I've been playing since launch (refreshing resin with 50 primos every so often) and just now I'm about to hit AR55. I've played everyday so far so that's a lot of time to reach this rank.

After you do all the quests and start running out of stuff to do around AR40, that's when the game just becomes like any other gacha game where you log in for 30 minutes max and do your resin runs until a new update adds new stuff to do.

Tbh I was barely motivated to log in for commissions the past 2 weeks so I'm just glad Xiao got added so I have motivation to actually farm stuff for my perfect teams. He's the only one I've been waiting for to actually start working on my team comps since launch so yeah... Should I have waited so long just for one character? Not sure but you gotta stay true to your convictions right?

That's also why I kept most of my characters at lv70 cause I didn't want to overly invest in anyone until my hypercarry got added. Ningguang was the exception cause she's sexy and one of my fave characters along with Beidou. She's also, ya know, a monster of a dps despite being a "bad" element.

Ayyy same! I just think playing in the original language that was used to do all of the mouth movements feels a lot more immersive. Also the Chinese voice acting is pretty darn good! IMHO the voice acting for Genshin goes JP > CN > KR > EN. JP takes the cake cause of how many famous VAs they got in addition to everything else. I put EN last cause there's just some voices that grate on my nerves so much that I genuinely can't play with it.

So I've been playing with Xiao since I got him and I gotta say, he's a great dps! Of course, he needs good supports to actually do well without dying, but that's what a 4 person team is for so yeah.

I don't actually have my team for him built cause I was still farming for Ganyu, but I've been using him in my regular team by replacing Beidou and using Bennett instead of Diona and he's been wrecking face at lv60.

I'm using lv80 Deathmatch for him with decent full gladiator set and he's still doing 20k+ crits on his plunge in his burst mode. All of his talents are at lv4 and he has 1450 atk, 70% crit, 125% crit dmg, and I think 37% anemo dmg.

What I have on him is not ideal but he's still doing amazing. I'm genuinely very satisfied with how he plays and he's basically a fast af boi. I'm gonna sideline my Ganyu project and going all in on building Xiao's team.

I already said what I was planning on doing for him before, but seeing how he is right now has changed my mind. I'm gonna instead use Xingqiu, Fischl, and Jean in his team cause Venti's ult pulls enemies off the ground and doesn't let Xiao plunge on them as well.

I'm also revamping my Ningguang team and planning to use Zhongli, Venti, and Diona for her while Ganyu's team will have Tartaglia, Xiangling, and Bennett. I really don't feel like farming her freeze comp artifacts so I'm gonna go with a melt comp instead.

EDIT: LOL nvm, Venti's ult works fine with him. Well that changes things... Tbh I just don't like repeating characters in team comps but if I really wanted an optimal team comp I'd always put Zhongli and Venti in the team cause they're both jacked supports after the Zhongli buff.

EDIT 2: You know what? Fuck it, I'm gonna use Beidou instead of Fischl cause she's sexier. (Also cause of my R1 Wolf's Gravestone...)

EDIT: Oh right, I had extra primos left over so I pulled on the weapon banner to try and get his spear. On one hand I beat pity and got a 5 star in 30 rolls, but on the other hand it was another wolf's gravestone. I guess no more rolling for me! Now I'm gonna save everything for Raiden or whoever else since I can always get Keqing through the standard and limited banners.

Rosaria doesn't interest me at all tbh. Her design just doesn't do anything for me. As for Hu Tao, uhhhh she's better but still not that interesting for me.

There's Ayaka who I'm sorta looking forward to, but my preferred aesthetics are 1. Beidou, 2. Ningguang, and 3. Keqing and that's it so far. If that one yaksha lady was still alive, I would've definitely pulled for her too. The only other person I'm looking forward to is La Signora cause she's just hot, period.

Xiao is so close to being released... I'm genuinely impatient but knowing how this shit works, I'm probably gonna take 180 pulls to get him. I really really hope that doesn't happen but I've been way too lucky in Arknights for my luck to not be bad everywhere else.

Honestly don't know how to feel about the fact that the only person I've spent money on to get is Zhongli and now probably Xiao too. Genshin really gotta release more female 5 stars cause I'm feeling very complicated about how I've basically rolled for men since the game released with the sole exception of Ganyu... Raiden you're my only hope now TvT

New Nian skin looks pretty good. Too bad I do not care for cheongsams or the Manchu aesthetic at all. I'll still buy the skin when it comes to global, but will I have any feelings about it? Nope.

I much prefer hanfus and the ancient Chinese aesthetic so I'm hoping we either get an operator with that aesthetic or a skin. Saga is in traditional Japanese garb so I think there's a chance, but it probably won't be for another year when we get a new Nian sibling.

Can't really see any of the Lungmen peeps getting a hanfu skin cause none of them fit the "ancient person" aesthetic hanfu clothing tends to be used for. For a better image of what I'm talking about, think clothes used in the xianxia and wuxia genres.

The only real case I can see of them using hanfu is for a Nian sibling who's stuck in the past or is more old-fashioned. Dusk could get a skin just off her being into ink paintings and those date back quite a while, but I won't hold my breath for that.

Ningguang do be having that top energy tho
