Severa's just a mess of mommy issues and an inferiority complex, and here's perfect Lucina, who can do no wrong, just like her mother. But Lucina is genuinely nice, and Severa can't bring herself to hate her. Then you have Severa's somewhat justified suspicion that her mom still loved Chrom and the resulting angst that Severa might be perpetuating the same with her adoration of Lucina.
The angst and drama opportunities of this ship are just sublime
Extra angst if Severa is Robin's daughter and she thinks she's unworthy because of her cursed blood
As for Lucina, she inherited her father's himbo genes and was doomed from the start. Nothing could be done about her, one look at that red hair, and she was gone.
