Honestly my impression is basically an expounded version of Nezchan's impression, although I actually DID feel the fanservice was awkward. Honestly, I have no issue with fanservice (for the record, one of my favorite anime series is Strike Witches, of all things) but I couldn't really understand what it was doing in a series like this, especially when I didn't really find it to be "working".

Otherwise? Competent slice of life with some real shining strengths. I particularly like Koma and anything having to do with her. Very, very good character and story.

Inoue was never her girlfriend, was she.

It's going to be annoying when that's revealed. That means you wasted all this time with drama over a simple misunderstanding.

It's small, but really it's a brilliant little series. It does a lot right and is unique to boot. In spite, or perhaps BECAUSE of its subject matter it tells a just plain really nice love story. I really liked it.

I admire Dowman's dedication to making her unlikable even after that depressing baggage and her actions this chapter.

Truly, a horrible kind of person.

I was happy to find the best available scans for this series on Dynasty, so thanks for that.

I think it's quite good, "entertaining" most definitely, but I wish it would reveal more Kasen's secrets rather than adding more.

It's a lot better than I was expecting and I was expecting it to be good. A very mysterious, weirdly tense manga.

Since Yuri Project has dropped this, can another group who's translating Citrus (from the Japanese raws and good typesetting) take over on Dynasty?

Isn't it stalled because no one wants to translate it? If you don't have translators, but another group does (with their own raws and typesetters and whatever it takes), I don't think it'd be a problem.

I always figured the case was that there were no tank raws, because there were none. 5 only just came out.

I'm just laughing my ass off at how fast Saburota goes from being the devil incarnate to one a master storyteller just by pandering to the fanbase.

Well, she did say pretty early on that this would be a story about the love between the two, so she WAS always setting it up.

because I felt my original review didn't do the series justice. Hitoribocchi no OO Seikatsu is quite great, as is its author Katsuwo.

Then again, I seem to recall her not having much interest in romance in general.

The bitter feelings I had regarding the series have faded, though. My major criticism against it isn't concerning the lack of "romantic" resolution, assuming things, but that the ending came out of nowhere with almost no explanation (or none, I don't really remember) and then it kind of just...finished.

It wasn't handled well, even though the rest of the manga was handled really well.

Oh well.

EDIT: Reading over the pages of this thread since the ending hit, I remember why I loved this series once upon a time (and it's not because of any lilies). This was written so nicely for so long, handling interesting issues in a mature way. It's like, Stretch is this beautiful fucking quilt that Shou was knitting lovingly for a long time, and he nearly finished it off, but at the end he tugged away a crucial string and the whole fucking thing fell the fuck apart, leaving this pile of beautiful threads but it was just that: beautiful threads. It isn't whole or complete and there's no meaning in it.

I'll probably end up writing an essay on this series one day. Hmm...I wonder if I should tag it as yuri. It seems to have at least one lesbian...

The manga isn't fully hosted here, but I recommend it all the same. It's a great, simple and nice manga without any words. It's also much less about "this weird girl" and more about her friendships. Very funny too, I say!

Also, if you've an eye for shipping often her friend who wears glasses gives off a nice blush if she ever gets too close

What I like most about this manga is the wild and crazy shit Shake-O does with the fact that this is a manga. Inventive use of sound effects, fourth wall breaking, interesting paneling, and general master craft. That it's a solid episodic heartfelt series with a lot of laughs helps my opinion too.

Of course, it could use more yuri.

Fujimi is best girl.
