I'm noticing that with a lot of the "girlship" anime lately.

I've seen it go both ways. For instance Harukana Receive was much gayer in the manga, and so was Release the Spice if I remember right. It seems to depend on who is in charge of the production.

Given how gay Harukana Recieve was, how did they do that without breaking subtext?

The Mom is amusingly OK with her daughter being a lesbian... :D

She's probably just jealous she didn't get a girlfriend like Chiaki (or, to be more accurate, a girlfriend she IMAGINES Chiaki to be).

There's also a 1XX8 and some photos dated something like 1X15 or what have you.

So, floating some possibilities. Note that in all cases have the contingent "and both sides are using girls" AH even for the historical possibilities. Although I should observe that historically Japanese women and children were being conscripted into militias in anticipation of the Allied invasion in 1945. Although admittedly, they were expected to take on Allied troops toting automatic weapons, tanks, and artillery with spears.

1. The later date's are of post-war images, the main story is actually set during late-Second World War.
2. Alternate history: It's 1948 or later, WW2 is dragging on longer.
3. Alternate history: It's 1948 or later, WW3 between communist and capitalist blocs kicked off shortly after WW2.
4. This is actually set in China in 1937 or later from a Chinese perspective, despite the names.
5. This is set in a completely alternate world that happens to have some countries which mirror our own, including a counterpart of Japan.
6. Some combination of the above, where combinations are possible.

As a teacher-in-training, I have a complicated attitude towards Student/Teacher relationships regardless of whether it's female or male on either end. Professionally, it's a huge ethics problem and hence makes me cringe.

Yet manga can make it look so cute. So yeah, always rather torn when it pops up.

This is amusing. I particularly loled when the “Snake King’s” plan to try and entice the MC with power via marriage backfires because MC ain’t into bestiality.

Aha, the lone wolf among others NicoMaki stories xD Nicotori feels like a story of two bottoms falling in love lmao (meanwhile Umi and Maki are busy looking for their waifu at the lost and found corner)

More like "yuri non-yuri" story, as I will lable these kind where the girl pretty much makes it obvious she has feelings for the other (and possibly vice-versa) but they NEVER MAKE IT CLEAR AUGH!
