Apparently showering years of romantic affection on someone should guarantee romantic affection in return. This is oddly reminding me of all the people who complain about being friend-zoned on Yahoo Answers.

Lol those are fun to read...

As for the chapter... I didn't know one could gain such strength from badminton. To be able to through a desk like that. I've been doing everything wrong. Guess this means no more 5am gym! Whoopie!!!

Despite reading this story from the beginning... with this new chapter I feel it is like those other romances where character who is actually decent and everyone KNOWS would be perfect for the main love interest gets shafted.

Well, even though I don't like it when the main perfect love interest gets y'know, shafted, especially when nothing real serious has even happened to the Hanai and Hoshino, I think this is a pretty damn good portrayal of real life. I mean, as real as it gets.

Anyway, I liked that little backstory, but I'd like more "concrete evidence" kind of thing for Hoshino's obsession with Hanai. I don't want any half assed, "oh, she just fell in love at second sight with her" kind of shizzazz. Like, yeah it could happen, but no.

I'm going to have to reread it again to see what you mean about calling it a "pretty damn good portrayal of real life." I'm not sure I'm that portrayal at all O_o

And I agree about the explanation so far for Hoshino's crush on Hanai so far.

I would also say Baggata Way but it's been dropped sadly. It's a lacross centered manga. I don't think there is any shojou ai or yuri but it's a fun story up until the point it was dropped lol :)

I love how this series has been slowly progressing into the relationship of the two main characters and their personalities. I definitely cannot wait for more.

Nice to finally see this up here and even better to know it is still going on, though untranslated for us.

Did shinobu gulp down azusa stick candy??!!

No. Pages 8 & 9 are the last pages you see it and then take another look at Azusa's mouth on page 11. Kinda obvious what happens to it.

(Hopefully that's the end of that annoying "continuity error" lol... sheesh)

well where is the lollipop XD

It's in Shinobu's girlfriend's stomach.

And I knew Shinobu some what liked Yuri but I guess she has Azusa now :D

And you know what? Yuri's all tsun-tsun, it never would have worked. Azusa is a total babe, not to mention how confident she was portrayed in this little chapter. I think Shinobu got a pretty good deal being snatched up by her.

Couldn't agree more. But when Shinobu planted the kiss I though it was awesome considering she seems to be the more insecure/shy one of the two. Like others have said, I wouldn't mind seeing a short story revolving around how those two got together.

Shinobu and Takako are hot. It's so fun to see an adult relationship. Great new chapters.

x2

I'm also happy to see more about their relationship. The first couple chapters felt like it was mostly covering their hobbies.

Just sat down to read this, at ch. 7 currently, and I have to say the world building is absolutely amazing. One can really see how well thought out a lot of aspects of the world are and the hints the author drops here and there make it really feel like a a possibility. Very cool. I especially love how the author throws out little hints about society here and there within the dialogue and then follows up at the end of chapters with some information on evolution and how species wear clothes. Very very cool!

I've been thinking about picking this up from time to time. Can anyone give me a good reason too besides this post here which, I have to saw, really piques my interests as I love good world building.

What really blows my mind is the sheer amount of worldbuilding involved, as seen in the end pages for the first several chapters (although not so much in later ones, sadly). Thinking about how the evolution worked, the whole six-limbs thing, Antarctican society and biology, the various religions/myths, the little bits of history that are hinted at, etc. It all makes this something special, and far deeper than the slice of life format would suggest.

That, and adorable little centaur children and class rep's sisters.

It's a free for all forum. Make a topic that's not something that's generally rule breaking across forums in general and it'll be fine.
It's just currently a bit harder to keep track of since we don't have forums search or tracking of sorts yet.

Ah, thank you.

And I see.

Not sure if this has been asked before but will there be a way, in the future, to tell what threads we've posted in in the forum? Like a little mark of some type to the left of the 'views' tag-looking thingy on the right (if that made any sense just now O_o).

-edit-
Oh yeah and a question, can we open up threads about other things not entirely related to the mangas on here? I wanted to open up a thread asking if people listen to music while reading manga but wasn't sure if that was appropriate to do at this time.

I actually read the first volume today and really enjoyed it, the art is on the same good level as the late SK chapters and the MC is really likeable, maybe because there isn't much missing for me to believe that Ikeda has been staking me out. It's a real slice-of-life deal though without any romance yuri or het whatsoever and with a protagonist who isn't a 10 year old moe blob, so I'd be surprised (pleasantly) if this will ever be scanlated.

That sounds like a story right up my alley. And this may be a bad argument or whatever but, Yokohama Kaidashi Kikou, Aria, and A Bride's Story all got scanlated and they're all slice of life so one can hope right ;)

And it could've been a story about monkeys but it isn't. The nice thing about SK in my opinion is that it's not a laser focused romance story between the different pairs, it's generally a slice-of-life comedy about a group of friends who got together, at least at the start, through their common sexual orientation. But that doesn't define them or the story. There is a romance going on, there is drama and angst but it doesn't drive their entire lives. It's not bogged down because some chapters don't push the romance forward and characters are not useless because their relationship status isn't clearly defined at the end.

That's a main reason why I liked it. It made all the characters seem more realistic and likeable instead of love crazy monsters who apparently don't take the other aspects of their lives seriously (as other romances series make their characters out to be).

Only took 52 chapters for them to finally kiss and it ends rather satisfyingly though, like I keep saying, I would have loved to have seen it extended to some years after they've graduated high school. At least seeing them more grown up in their mid-late twenties would have been pretty cool. But I have to say, the original series that got me into yuri in the first place has been a lot of fun to read up to the very end. And those extras were awesome!

I noticed some people talking about Aoi Hana and I have to say I'm glad it's coming to a close hopefully, I'm starting to have trouble telling characters apart.

@ Phyis - Yay! a new slice of life that......*searches internet* no one is scanlating =(

Maple Love will always have a special place in my heart.
This continuation is also really cute though. Kinda glad nothing too NSFW happened, or else it'd break the original atmosphere [for me].

@Random Reader: Is your avatar from Spaceballs???

Couldn't agree more!

He answered it in Maple Love's thread and I quoted it to the extra's thread as well:

This is what he said:
"The name of the artist is Moquette. Looks like it came from this site: http://jianki.sakura.ne.jp/diary/diary08_11_1.html"

I was actually in the process of asking about who it was because the art didn't match up. Luckily I refreshed before posting lol.

Also I liked the continuation it felt quite natural considering how the original story was.

Yup!

Who's the artist? Doesn't seem like Otsu Hiyori's art.

The name of the artist is Moquette. Looks like it came from this site: http://jianki.sakura.ne.jp/diary/diary08_11_1.html

Oh well. Even if it's not by Otsu Hiyori, I still like it.
