Right, but think how good we have it right now.

About 1-2 hours after the official Korean release, we already get an English translation, done by halmoni. And about 4-8 hours after that, we get a "rough" typeset for that English translation, currently done by Cold. (And even though we call these "roughs", they are actually done pretty well.)

That's pretty friggin' amazing if you ask me.

If it were an "official English translation", I'm pretty sure it won't be that fast. In fact, it would likely lag behind the Korean release by many, many chapters. Just look at the official Japanese translation, which is the only official translation to another language as far as I know:

Right now, it's only at chapter 23, which came out February 15, 2015. The latest chapter is 33, and in our "unofficial" Engilsh translation, it's already available.

Yes, this part -- this chapter, specifically -- is rather annoying, especially due to that character.

To those who are reading this for the first time and are put off by the latest chapter (chapter 7), I recommend sticking with it for a bit longer.

So, I know that there's a new chapter on comico every monday, but is it uploaded at a random time or is there a specific hour? Like LINE webtoons (English) is usually uploaded around 11AM.

The new release schedule for Comico is:
6:00 AM Monday, Korea Standard Time (KST)
which is
5:00 PM Sunday, Eastern Time (ET)
2:00 PM Sunday, Pacific Time (PT)
so on.

Before, it used to be 6 hours earlier at:
12:00 AM Monday, Korea Standard Time (KST)

Comico changed to the new schedule a couple of weeks ago. And many people complained about it, not just international readers but Korean readers on Comico.

However, last week, we got a release 6 hours earlier, so we thought that they changed back to the old schedule, perhaps due all to the complaining.

But it might have been an exceptional one-time thing, because it's not happening this week.

Not going to lie, I wish ssamba would color her other chapters like she did with this piece. Maybe it's just the style or time constraint that affected her other pieces, this is especially nice to look at as the colors are clean and in line.

That's also what I assume.

You can see that the FF official art tend to be a bit more detailed, "sharper" and better colored than the art in the chapters.

So, that tells me that ssamba can draw and color like this; it's just that it probably takes way more time.

To be honest, I actually prefer this sketch-like style of drawing, even if it's actually to "cut corners". I find that it gives a "raw" quality to the drawings and that it has its own charm. Well, that's just me anyway.

Some manga try to have "perfect" artwork everywhere and all the time. There's nothing wrong with that either. Citrus is one series where most people agree that the artwork is great. (Not gonna talk about the story...) The drawings are pretty much always detailed, even background elements. And that's nice in its own way.

But personally, when I'm reading a story, especially for the first time, I focus mostly on the story, and I don't especially pay attention to things such as, say, how well drawn that table in the background is. But of course, foreground elements, as in elements "in focus" in a given panel, need to be somewhat detailed, because if a foreground element is not detailed enough, it could be too noticeable and detract from the story. Often, foreground elements are people. And that's fine in the case of FF, since ssamba usually gives more detail to characters, especially their faces.

Furthermore, if ssamba went for a Citrus-like level of drawing detail, I would assume we would not be getting a new chapter every week. And if I had to choose between weekly updates or nicer drawings, I would definitely choose weekly updates.

It's not really "just an image".

Why is it not uploaded as a chapter in the chapters section?
If it were, it would technically be chapter 5.5, as it was released between chapters 5 and 6.
(I see this convention of special chapters being numbered .5 in other series.)

I see this graphical oddity on the left page navigation:

This appears to be due to the fact that the sole "page" of the chapter does not have a label, e.g., "1" or "01".

Not really a big deal though.

(Pseudo in that it's not a URL with a single piece of information, most likely the post ID, so something like

But it does work, i.e., scrolls you to the correct post.
It's just that it requires the thread URL with the correct page number and the fragment identifier for the post (#forum_post_12345).

Perhaps this method/function could be reused to generate the same "pseudo-permalink" in the post history, i.e., for each post, take the post ID and generate the "pseudo-permalink".

To be honest, I noticed a bunch of people are doing this manually. (Myself included.)

Rather tedious when manually done by a human being, but trivial if done by a machine/the server.

For nested quotes, this becomes especially necessary, because without username labels, you end up having no clue who said what.

Navigation is a bit of a pain. Don't bother with the tags on the left side, such as the "설레는 기분" (Fluttering Feelings) tag, because some blog posts are not filed under there.
