You guys are right that there are way more released chapters of FF that are not on Dynasty yet. To be exact, at the time of writing, the latest chapter is chapter 35 and the latest chapter on Dynasty is chapter 7.

But this is not because "Dynasty is behind with their own translations and edits". There isn't a "Dynasty team" of translators and editors/typesetters that is working on FF. All the English translated chapters of FF that you read anywhere on the Web pretty much all come from the same people.

Almost all FF English translations come from halmoni. Translations of early chapters were done by Haggant. When a new chapter comes out, halmoni provides a quick translation within a few hours. Then, someone would take this translation and create a rough typeset of the chapter. The people who do the rough typesets, a.k.a. roughs, are QCO (first 28 chapters), Cold, d.d.d., kyra and various other contributors.

Roughs, as the name implies, are not perfect, nor are they meant to be. They are typesets that are done relatively very quickly. The point of the roughs is just to get the translated chapters out as quickly as possible so that people can read and enjoy them. However, they are not meant to be the "final releases". Afterwards, the team goes hard at work to create the final releases. This involves reviewing and improving the translations, cleaning up the images, getting rid of JPEG artifacts, doing the final typesetting, quality-checking, so on. This FF scanlation team is comprised of jrdp_18 (raws, QC), halmoni (translation, TLC), Haggant (translation, early chapters), Kanaria (TLC), Gulf Standard (QC), kyra (QC), kubrick (cleaning), winter (cleaning), takachi (cleaning), Ryo (editing/typesetting). Apologies if I missed anyone.

Now, if you see FF chapters in English on various other sites, you are basically looking at the roughs. Many sites just take whatever they find, even if they are roughs, and upload them. Without ever asking the people who made them, of course.

Then, why doesn't Dynasty just upload the roughs like so many other sites? Because Dynasty tries as much as possible to respect what the scanlators want. So essentially, Dynasty only uploads the final high-quality releases. And personally, that's fine, since if you want to read everything up to the latest chapter, you can read the roughs.

This post is pretty "late", because every time I typed this in the past few days, it just ended up as a huge wall of text that inevitably became really ranty at parts. So screw it. Now, I'm just gonna steer clear of the negative stuff and just say a few things while keepin' it simple.

 
So I'm the anon who's been taking care of the FF Imgur account recently. I'm saying this purely for context. This isn't a big reveal or anything. I set up the separate account flutteringfeelingsmanhwa and the email address simply so that if ever I can't do it anymore in the future, I can easily pass it to someone else. BTW, I didn't start the FF Imgur account. jrdp_18 was the one who set it up to provide a single convenient place to read the roughs of all existing chapters. (And mad props to her for that.) I just volunteered a short while ago to help out a tiny bit (just uploading).

 
Anyway, I just want to say, after all the "pseudo-drama" created by certain people (though not really here on Dynasty, mostly somewhere else...), I'm really glad that in the end, the conclusion is that people will have the choice to read FF however they want. They can choose to read it directly on Comico via the overlay method OR they can choose to read it as they did before, in a rough typeset uploaded to Imgur, without any delay.

I personally think this is simply the best outcome. I think that giving people the choice is almost always the best thing to do.

As an aside, I was really on the fence about this for a good while. On one hand, I don't like "forcing" people to do anything, but on the other hand, I really really really wanted to help support ssamba and for myself personally, the 3-day thing felt like a perfectly fine compromise. For a while, I was pretty much down with the idea of putting up the roughs 3 days later, just to help encourage people to read it on Comico. But... long story short, with time, I've come to form the opinion that it's just best to let people decide for themselves.

Now, perhaps this is naive of me, but I honestly believe that many true FF fans will definitely try to help support the author and check out the overlay method, of their own volition.

I really look forward to the new method. Regardless of all the "support the author" jazz, it is also Just Plain Cool. I mean, you click a button, and the chapter turns into friggin' English in front of your eyes. It's magical pixie dust.

I do however still place a lot of value on having the option to read standalone uploaded typesets, as there may be people who really cannot use the overlay method for whatever reason. I wouldn't want anyone who loves and enjoys this series to be deprived of it.

So as I said, I'll continue to upload the typesets, as long as someone wants to make them. The only minor thing is I think I'll put a note at the beginning of the chapter, at the top, just to let people know about this other option, and then it's totally up to the reader. Otherwise, business as usual.

 
In closing, I'm of the opinion that you can never be too appreciative, so I just want to take the time to thank to everyone who is contributing or who has ever contributed to making it possible for us to read and enjoy FF.

Speaking of that... this is just a personal recommendation, but I really think you should have it uploaded somewhere else also, not only here.

Don't get me wrong, of course I am glad that you're posting it here. (And it would appear I'm not the only one.) It's a real treat for us. But the visibility and reach of your work is extremely limited if you solely post it on one random page of a random thread thread on a random forum.

So I'd really recommend posting it in a place where people usually post fan art. Such as your DeviantArt account, Pixiv.net, a Tumblr blog, or anywhere else. Then, you can still repost it here as well as other places.

This way, your work can reach a wider audience, and more people, more FF fans would be able to enjoy it.

Just my opinion.

Luckily though, looks like someone somewhat prominent in the FF Web community seems to really like your work and shared it with others.

"Joon-woo" is not Seol-a's brother.

Seol-a's brothers are:
Seon-woo
Hyeong-woo (second oldest brother, as mentioned in chapter 7)
Jin-woo (third oldest brother, as mentioned in chapter 15)

Jin-woo is the only one we've seen so far. Seol-a's home in Seoul is a place that Hyeong-woo used to live in.

"-woo" names appear to be very common for guys. (And don't forget everyone's favorite Gyeong-woo.)

I think in the middle line, it's the mom saying that, not Seol-a. The speech bubble appears to come from her, not to mention that line doesn't make much sense coming from Seol-a.

Personally, I'm one of those people who prefers to wait for the full finished quality product. I understand the urge to keep absolutely up to date on a story your caught up in, though.

Lol, not really "the best", since for FF, I don't wait at all for the finished product; I pretty much give in to "the urge to keep absolutely up to date" and read roughs or even text translations as soon as they come out. But I do also read them again when the final releases come out.

As an aside, it's a bit strange to be posting directly in the images thread since it's just a "pseudo-thread" that all posts for images go to. It's like you're in limbo or something.

I'd like to make a corrective statement for a previous post.

As you mentioned, Min-jeong doesn't go to the same university, so Seol-a only sees her occasionally. And it seems that when they meet, at least sometimes, it's to hang out with guys -- probably guys that they barely know or even just met -- to drink, flirt, so on, like in chapter 20.

As an aside, Min-jeong is probably the kind of girl that everybody thinks Seol-a is: a party girl who is really flirty with guys. [...]

Actually, turns out, in chapter 20, when Seol-a and Min-jeong met up with two guys, one of the two was likely Min-jeong's boyfriend.

From chapter 10, Seol-a and Min-jeong had a conversation and Seol-a said, "That's because you weren't in Seoul. (small text: ) You went on a 'honeymoon trip' with your boyfriend. How was the sunrise?" Blink and you would've missed it, lol.

So I can't really say or assume Min-jeong is a party girl or a flirt or anything. So basically... we really don't know much of anything about Min-jeong right now. Let's see if she shows up more in the next act.
