Mamori crushing so hard on Akira is dissapointing of course but is perfectly in line with her character. Two days earlier Mamori would've never questioned her sexuality and was by all accounts a normal girl. So she clinging so hard on anything that gives her some normalcy back is reasonable. This on the other hand gave us the chance of seeing a more expressive Mirei that along the illusion scene cements her like a full blown lesbian

I think you are giving this too much credit.

She saw a prince when Mirei rescued her. And now she sees someone who carries "himself" like a prince, which she sees like a "real" prince.

Shallow infatuation for both so far. Nothing emotional.

Also I'm kinda confused regarding Akira. Why does everyone think she is a man? I mean, don't they know only females can be infected by the virus? Her way of moving seem manipulating to me. Prefers not to fight and shows a very good persona on the outside just to get people to trust her. Also showing herself as a man adds to that, as supposedly girls will fall for her like this easier. But who knows, maybe that's exactly her purpose. To manipulate everyone into obeying and them staying into the island. Everything she is saying about escaping the island to be a big lie.

to manipulate nails it. It might be that the bunch of girls don't really know much? They seem to be kept in line like cattle in that place they live in. Might as well be a clueless bunch, easily controlled through ignorance.

tbh, pretty shoddy writing. Everything seemed so uncanny and dry.

Did not notice who the artist was until now lol, lots of the mangaka's works are swing and a miss when it comes to writing.

You forgot the part where the creator decided to take the main plot by his own hands cuz things were not gonna work out well by fan input.

Sure you can have your cute lil project receiving input by a small group of ppl, but the more ppl there are the more directions it will be pulled on. Where disaster ensues.

Two Best Friends played Forgotten Memories game heavily inspired by Silent Hill 2, so heavily inspired that they have 2 voice actors from it. Guy Cihi, who did James (does not appear in the "first chapter" tho), and David Schaufele, who did Eddie.

Although I could see her admitting to herself a chapter or two before the end and freaking the fuck out over it, before wrapping with an accepted confession.

I personally don't really care so much about it, the ride has been quite fun by itself. Comedy has been carrying this manga. What I am hoping for is for it to end before it goes completely stale.

It's not like these kind of shows have a strong direction in writing, pardon me saying.

rock ur socks off, a friend made me watch it long ago and the writing was shit, cringe-worthy. I never picked it up for myself after that :p

But this seems like the kind of plot which actually allows for something like that to work.

Ehhh, I disagree. Trying to string things along will make the already shoddy writing collapse in on itself. It barely holds together as it is.

That's a good questionn, from what I read in some places it doesn't seen to be a minority who wants yuri.

Can't really gauge that, it is indeed safer to assume it is a vocal minority.

Those who would disagree are the quiet ones, quiet because there is no reason to speak out yet. Also those who like it as it is, without the show pushing too hard for romance keeping it as a gag-of-sorts. Chances are that they might turn out to be the majority.

Actually any kind of romance would be pretty forced. it would be pretty cheap and out of place. Given that its just gags.

Well, that's true in theory but taking in the wishes of the audience is one of the things I prefer about western media compared to Japanese stuff. And in the end, the writers are writing for the audience, not themselves. Glee tried to fuck with their audiences and by the end nobody was watching anymore.

ofc they are writing for an audience... but what I am saying is not a theory. The audience cannot be the ones that decide where this goes. As I said, creators can take the feedback- decide what THEY think would be better. It's their show, they have their vision for it. Not taking feedback does not mean they wanna fuck over their audience. And those who are vocal do not represent the entire audience, neither are they a good enough sample size to determine a general opinion.

Creative control should reside upon the writers, they have their own vision. In cases where there is flexibility, sure, its good to take the audience's feedback. But completely abiding by what a group of people want is not really how things should be handled. You will never satisfy everybody, and letting yourself get tugged around in different directions can only end in disaster.
