dunno, maybe its just me but the series doesnt feel as light hearted anymore, with the mom spying on every part of her life and trying to control akanes actions, planning the room to coerce her into sex, pretending to be in danger just so akane abandons a friend who is very drunk and probably needs an adult to supervise her and now the kid stuff.

Those elements have been there since the beginning, just less concentrated. Remember that the story starts with Akane getting scammed, purchasing one thing and then being sent another and charged enough money to buy a small car

tbh i think it makes sense. If you love someone but dont communicate with them or anyone else on the plan you tend to focus on a very certain plan to do a thing you think is needed for theis happiness, which can end in huge problems for the person in question.

reading the comments here, I think if "person having explicitly same sex attraction and asking stuff about it" were more common and masturbation wasn't treated as such a taboo thing, this would feel far less real. and be just like them wearing a uniform or other "normal/common" things/tropes in a manga.
