That stripping scene legit made me say, "um, what" out loud. What the fuck was that even. I guess the author wanted to portray some "deep" "emotional" moment between Haruki and Aya but it just comes across as stupid, pretentious and invasive to me. Haruki is so repulsive and creepy.

And Mochida. She was just an annoying teenager before, but she just crossed the line into unlikeable territory in this chapter. Seriously, these two should just fuck each other and calm their titties. And stop messing with the main characters.

That’s exactly how I felt about Haruki stripping. I felt uncomfortable because it was so random and Aya barely reacting and quickly agreeing to strip was absurd. We all agree that Aya is easy but she resisted Sei more, she pushed her away and resisted her affections. There was a build up for their feelings before getting nude and sleeping together. Here we have Haruki confessing AFTER getting nude. It’s awkward and doesn’t play well. It just doesn’t make sense that Aya agreed to just strip. Getting me a little angry of how this played out and I’m not looking forward to the future chapters as much anymore.

people are saying haruki’s arc is resolved but to me it isn’t? aya didn’t even answer her feelings and they just laid in the bed naked.... anyway i could see haruki sending the photo she received to mochida for revenge or something. sei will get exposed at her job and drama ensues

I agree with you on Haruhi not being resolved. I really don’t like this chapter. I hate it a lot. Why did Aya strip? Just because Haruhi did? Aya and Sei is toxic but they obviously feel something for each other. Aya doesn’t feel anything sexual or romantic for Haruhi and its terrible to lead Haruhi on and Haruhi is going for a horrible heartbreak. I don’t think Haruhi will give Aya’s nudes out when she wants Aya all to herself.
I just hate the fact that Aya just went along and strip and be naked with her friend just because she asked her to...

I've been wondering about the bed for a while. "buying a bed together" is such a cliche that it is also a euphemism. Obviously at the time it served to demonstrate how deeply Ayako was in denial. Not only being ok with their arrangement continuing on a long term basis, but actually making plans to do it in comfort.

When I first read it I assumed they would probably shop for the bed while Ayako was still in denial, but it would arrive after the revelation to confront them with what they were doing... 'if we accept this it means we are really going though with it' moment.

We haven't had another reference to it, and it is a bit late for it to be pre-realisation, so maybe it will turn out to have just been for that scene... although I suppose they could have done the shopping/ordering off-screen.

It could be pretty fun... Ayako gets home from work to find Asuka unusually exuberant... "Hey mom, guess what happened today"... throws open her bedroom door, throws herself on the bed and poses "***our*** bed arrived!" (big grin).

(mood reasoning: With confirmation Ayako feels the same way as she does (even if they aren't supposed to be acting on it), Asuka is going to be on cloud nine for a while... I wonder what Rui will make of it)

I suppose there could also be a call back much later, going bed shopping as a sign Ayako has completely accepted their relationship (along with some "I can't believe I was that oblivious" reminiscing).

If Taiyaki think we forgotten about the bed, she is sadly mistaken. I think of them buying the bed together a lot. I think it’ll be cute of them both debating what kind of bed they want and arguing in the shop of sleeping together and everyone is watching them. I can imagine them figuring their relationship out and still be able to sleep together without any funny business.
I hope this relationship won’t turn out like Dear My Teacher, where they both are waiting for Asuka to turn of age and time is lagging in the story and jumps to the end where they get together officially

Out of curiosity, how did Ayako confess in Japanese? Was it daisuki or was it aishiteru or something else?

Am I the only one that likes Asuka calling Ayako “Mom” or is it just me..

Akira is kissing Ayako the same way Miyuki kissed Asuka on the couch when she was younger. (The art is even the same) That was the moment Asuka realized her true feelings for Ayako. If Ayako realizes her feelings with this kiss between Akira and her, it would be portrayed in the same way. THIS IS ART YA'LL.

That would be a great connection there. But would that be too simple for Taiyaki? It'll be too straight forward and seems like a potential ending to the manga, which i hope would never end.
I think Ayako would just brush Akira's kiss off as a joke. (if she did kiss? i know it looks like they totally connected there but who knows) Ayako always brushes Akira's feelings to the side as she never notices, so we might go back to square one...

That's true. Yuuki is a lot more forward about her crush on her mother than Asuka was, not to mention that Sayaka divorced her husband, rather than losing him in an auto accident. These differences effectively fit how ◯◯ Yuri is significantly more comedic than 1 x ½.

The story is more complex than we thought it'll be. It's delicate and should not be rushed. She is also trying to get 1x1/2 published so she's more busy than ever.
I don't mind the wait :) I want the best for this series
