^ The author pulls another hat trick in creating a vivid character, from almost invisible narrative groundwork earlier. This one is scary. The face/no face theme seemed kind of odd but not too significant for a while, until it turned into something a lot more intense. Sachi is a great character. What's interesting is that another character being developed for a short while is also unfolding at the same time, namely Shiki. Minami's world is getting a lot bigger than she knows, really fast.

Sachi's apparent confession to Minami in front of the rest of the coven is one of the most terrifying things I've read.

Tsukihime remake #1 (Arcueid and Ciel) is out this summer. I hope they take their time with the house routes and get them right; they are the most interesting as far as I'm concerned.

My favorite line from Tsukihime: "Only the human parts hurt."

There is quite a bit of character development in Yuru Yuri... It's just very slow. The most obvious is the Ayano / Toshino Kyouko relationship, but there's also a subtle but steady deepening of Chinatsu's appreciation for Akari's goodness and worth.

It seems to me that everything in this series is actually getting BETTER: Namori's funnier, the art is better, the writing is sharp, the character design keeps improving, and plot and character development are actually occurring.

It sort of makes up for Namori's absolute cruelty creating so many ships she has no intention of resolving.

This series is like a very good brand of potato chips.

Shamiko really should have asked why Momo had fallen. On the other hand, if she noticed such things, she would have made sure Momo knew another event was starting, and she wouldn't have shown Momo a picture of everyone except Momo having a good time.

Meanwhile, instead of indicating that she's hurt, Momo becomes a tyrant against the girl who hurt her feelings and who she literally loves more than life itself.

A ridiculous couple, but even more hilarious if they ever actually come together. Momo + Shamiko = exponential increase in idiocy.

Their friends need to lock the two of them in a room without windows and tell them they can't come out until both are stupid in the same way.

It would be both hilarious and tragic if Asumi met Mai and realized that she wanted to continue sleeping with 150 women a night.

Mai would have been the pretext for a deep bias toward promiscuity.

Maybe not so hilarious.

That's a lovely story.

It's also one of the few manga series I've seen that would make a perfect live-action movie at the hands of the right writer and director. Just fill in the blanks.
