If it helps, it's pretty clear that the author is very passionate about this ship. They regularly post fanart of the series, and they make doujins of this length and quality as a personal hobby. In contrast, their het portfolio seems to be a "pays the bills" sort of deal.

It depends on how much you like subtext. There are no explicitly lesbian relationships between any of the cast thus far, but there are lots of hints (and a one-way crush).

If you liked the anime, then you'll probably enjoy the first half of the manga, at the very least.

And fans speculate that Nikaidou's character was inspired in large part by Asuka.

In case you missed the joke, this isn't actually Tomoko's mom. She's Asuka, Tomoko's classmate. Based on the way she treats Tomoko, Tomoko refers to her as "mom" in her internal monologues.

Yuri wasn't jealous of Shizuku. She was just tired of being the only one in the group losing, and having Nemo remind her everytime.

I think both of those are reasons. Going on the date would satisfy Yuri's jealousy of Shizuku, give her something to gloat about to Nemo, and help her get better at table tennis.

The way the author presented it is actually really clever. Yes, the cigarette gives off smoke whenever Hino takes a drag. But if you look closely, she never breathes out smoke when she exhales afterwards.

When it's revealed you're surprised, but if you reread, you can see it plain as day.
