Hey again, everyone. Nice to see you all chatty chatty :) Got my hair cut today and it's so nice and light and short, and kanojo came home from work and ran her hands through it for like an hour or something like that lol. So nice. Though for sure draw more lezzie attention this way lol. I was in joggers and a Warriors jersey after I left the salon when the barista at the coffee shop I went to asked me out. Somehow the short hair immediately makes me several times more (visibly) gay...

elthundergato

Lls I had a similar reaction and simply laughed to myself smh. She got a pretty mean tan, and coworkers have been making fun of her all day. Lol told her I could help apply lotion after work, and she turned really red. That's the most flirty thing I've said to her in front of other people. Her reaction was priceless. XD

Lol sounds like perfectly healthy flirting to me. Maybe she's too much of a baby to be on #TeamShameless.

2 or 3 dates a week is not unheard of for a new relationship, 2 or 3 nights would count as quite a bit lol, unless you're really only in it for the benefits and not everything else :P

Yes I'm ok with 3 nights spread through out the week, anything else and I start feeling stifled.

Are you two a thing now? And by thing I mean a couple that at least sort of refers to the other as their girlfriend.

Goodness, the official thread is on fire...

Think I've lost my energy for that thread, but a big thanks to Newp for the translation, as usual. This chapter was bound to happen, and completely validated mine and others' suspicion that Sungji knows more about Sumin and Seju's relationship than she's let on to Sumin.

GUESS WHO! :D

Wassup folks! I still live! XD And I see we got new peeps. Yo to the newbies! :D
And just in case nobody's gonna answer in time, I'll see if I can get back tomorrow. There's a PC room here, but usage is limited. I have 1 and a half hours, then it's dinner time. ^^ Still, how is everyone? Please tell me I didn't miss too much while I was away. XD

Hiiiiiiii glad the surgery went well and that you're in good care :) Just the usual antics here ^^

...... >.>
she was sending racy pics of her in a bikini all weekend, whats a girl suppose to do XD
its almost as if she didn't want me to think about anything else >///<

If she sends ones without the bikini on, then you start questioning her judgment lol :P

to answer your Uhaul lesbian question: No she doesn't have a key to my house, and it depends usually between 2 or 3 nights... She just started her break, so i feel like i need to proceed with caution.

I call it my hulk juice.

Lol so you can smash the whole city in a hungover rage?

Its been a crazy day at the office, so excited to go home.
the intern got back from vacation today not the reason Im excited but XD

You're a bad liar :P How often is she camped at your place? Did you give her a key or something lol. Sounds like you're excited to go home, because she'll greet you in an apron and nothing else.

gosh that game was soo good, fired up for Thursday.

Yeah I'm excited and nervous and probably not going to sleep properly until the Warriors win the championship lol. We're a little too into it this year.

Smoothie really helps? How?

antioxidants and fiber they contain.

My good buddy's girlfriend swears by juicing and when I was visiting I was all sorts of hungover one morning and she made some awful concoction for me... It was terrible, but it worked.

I heard that Oklahoma gave the Warriors a bit of a scare recently! I don't religiously keep up with basketball so I couldn't really tell you much beyond that. My home team is the Grizzlies, I saw them beat the Heat and then flop on easy teams. >__>

Yeah it was a big big scare lol. Have to stand by my team and weather the storm though (or go cry in a corner somewhere). Finals against Cleveland start on Thursday :) The Grizzlies had it rough this playoff run since they had injuries and had to play the Spurs the first round, but past years they've been very good. Are you in Memphis or did you move for college?

@Alvis

I'm single but my area lacks cuties. What have you been up to?

Sorry I missed this message, had to dash to dinner and get back before the game. No area lacks cuties :P You just have to go out and find them.

@Rainy

Oh heyy u said u cut yr hair today.. how short is it now?

My hairdresser originally was going to come in on Memorial Day and then something came up and she rescheduled her appointments, so I'm not going in until tomorrow.

@everyone

Hey! Busy week ahead of me, so not sure how much I can be around. Hope you're all well. The Warriors pulled off the series comeback last night and are going to the NBA Finals! Very happy Warriors fans in this home right now. All the basketball games have been affecting my dear kanojo's sleep schedule though so she's all sorts of grumpy today lol. That's the problem with being on the east coast as a fan of a west coast basketball team :(

I'm fortunate that I'm close to a few professors, especially the mathematics professors. They're surprisingly not pretentious and love the fact I'm very well rounded. It also helps I actually ask questions out of sheer curiosity and not to just pass an exam. I'm sure that's pretty refreshing for a lot of professors.

Yeah that's fantastic :) Professors love that. Just actually attending their office hours to ask questions, clarify homework, get advice, all goes over very well. They usually just sit their with nothing to do :P

I'm kind of at a loss with what to do with myself now that uni is out for the summer and I'm not taking summer classes this year D:

Aw lol. Get in some R&R I suppose. Or go out and about and ask a cutie on a date xD Unless you're in a relationship, in which case do not do that o.o'

Edit: Unless you're in a monogamous relationship. Just covering all my bases :P elthundergato is polyamorous afterall.

Lol. The US and Germany really are like black and white when it comes to education, it seems. Uni contacts here are mostly just as useless (careerwise) as highschool contacts. And professors only write recommendations for students, who apply for a scholarship.

Professors aren't as useful as job references, but for almost any degree program here, applications require recommendations. A 4 year bachelor program probably requires at least 2 from your high school teachers, and masters and doctoral programs probably ask for 2 or 3 and accept more than that.

Otherwise, over here uni's just a way to continue your education. Barely a bigger deal than a vocational school. xD

Obviously uni is a way to continue your education anywhere, but I guess it can have more weight depending on where you are. College experiences vary tremendously in the US. You can go about just taking classes, get your degree, get a job, and there's not much to it. But you can also get a lot more out of it if you want to. Especially if the school has more money, resources, exceptional faculty, and a good culture for undergraduate education, there are all sorts of opportunities that students can take advantage of. I had research opportunities that let me contribute to some fun projects that led to co-authoring papers at a young age and talked a lot with professors that guided me to take classes with some brilliant minds, and they made sure I had a full skill set that could translate to a lot of different industries and research. So yeah, it can go either way.

Thank you! I'm trying my best but some days are definitely more difficult than others...My psychology minor keeps me sane. I hopefully go into a doctoral program and do research and teach; that's the plan at least... Worst case scenario I take up an engineering job to just make quick money. Hopefully it doesn't come to that 3: The most important thing is to get that diploma.

Yeah work hard and have fun :) Should try to get everything out of college, both educational and social, those bonds and connections are really special and can help you a lot after you've graduated. Try to build good relationships with the professors in the courses you do best in so that they'll write extra strong recommendations for you. A big name professor giving an excellent recommendation can really keep your name at the top of the pile. And yeah, even though you're out to get a degree, taking classes in other fields is important and you can get a lot out of them that will give you a more round and fulfilling experience.

Yeah, I'm quickly finding this out to be true.. A lot of males think I just add and subtract all day. I think I'm also like the 2nd female out of 30 people in my complex analysis course. I know there are only 2 females in the entire physics department >__> What degree/field are you in, dofudofu?

Hang in there :) I graduated with a mathematics degree 8 years ago and took a lot of statistics/econometrics-related courses as well. I was about to accept an offer to a doctorate program in statistics and decided to defer a year and then ended up declining. Part of me really wanted to do it just because I could and there's something about that kind of recognition that I wanted, but it became really clear to me that I didn't actually have the passion. My mentor/eventual ex-girlfriend/best friend really thought I was going to follow in her footsteps and I think I admired her so much that I wanted it to happen for a long time, but when it came down to it I just couldn't commit. I ended a up programmer for a pharmaceutical research company for a few years, but was unhappy with the corporate world and life in general. Now I do very different work, but I'm quite happy with the more easy-going lifestyle. I get to write a lot and as long as I'm making the company money I get a lot of creative freedom. Life takes you down all sorts of paths, but I say a physics degree is a great place to start ;)

My degree is in physics. For the most part, my family is supportive but a lot of the males give me a hard time. It's so wonderful the way they completely invalidate my degree and apparently think fixing an AC is akin to engineering. I swear every 5 minutes they'd ask me inane questions such as "Why does this float? C'mon, it's just physics. You probably only add and subtract all day" You're wrong. I just use cute little equations like x=y, all day. >__> //end rant

Was never an issue for me with my family since they're mostly doctors and engineers anyway, but I was surrounded by guys in the math department when I was in college. I remember taking a real analysis course which was an upper level requirement for all math majors, and there were only 2 other women in a class of 30. It was almost all international students as well. I was the only female US citizen of the bunch, and even I'm the child of first generation immigrants. There were more women when I took statistics courses, but regardless, if you're in a scientific or mathematical field that isn't biology, you're going to be in the minority as a woman and people are going to have an abundance of misconceptions about what you've studied.

Mhm. We spent the entire Sunday afternoon and early evening together in the clinic. ^_^ The place is absolutely beautiful. Seriously, the picture I posted of it doesn't even do it justice. And our welcome there was so genuinely kind, that it stunned me for a second. Su's definitely in good hands there. And when her doctor told her about her rehab schedule and she was told there were 2 hours of sports for her every day, she flashed the happiest smile I had seen on her face for a long time now. I just know she'll put her entire spirit into this. :D

That's great :) good to know she's getting great care. Really unfortunate that's not the norm around the world.

Hope things go smoothly <3 did you get to see Su yet?

Newp that's great that you're opening up about it to the people close to you ^^. Even though it's totally understandable why some people can't come out, I really think once they can they should. It's important to be all of yourself with the people you care about.

As for me, Saturday the Warriors came back to win the game and bring the western conference finals to game 7, so kanojo and I were bouncing off the walls with relief and joy and were so hype that we could hardly get any sleep. We went to her parents' barbecue yesterday with a couple hours rest and then I wasn't feeling super sociable and so kanojo's sister and I got tooooooo drunk and re-watched all of "Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?" and then too many episodes of House. Woke up in the middle of the night half naked sleeping next to my future sister in law, stumbled over to kanojo in her room, said some things that you only say between (horny) lovers, realized on the way to the bed I had tripped into it and woke up her best friend who was sleeping on the floor and just heard everything that had come out of my mouth. At the time I was still too drunk to care and so kanojo and I went into one of the guest rooms. Future mother in law trots in this morning wanting us all to go to brunch together, notices naked hungover people and leaves us alone for a bit. Had to recover my clothing from three different rooms in the house... Spent brunch being made fun of by my completely shameless and ruthless in laws...

Anyway lol, how'd did the weekend go for you all ^^;

With a description like that, I'm afraid she's gonna want to move in there. xD

Well if there's any concern you could just remind her where the most important recreational activity resides :P

With her, it's the same with most people: it depends on the season and weather. xD During summer and spring, she usually loves to go out and just do stuff and meet people. Once the weather gets cold and unpleasant though, she turns into a couch potato. xD

I'm with her there. When it's warm I want to be out and about and then once it's cold all I want to do is heat up the blankets in the dryer and hide.

Speaking of out and about, time for hoops and icecream (or at least I plan to detour us in the direction of icecream...)! Take care, everyone.

She's going to spend 3 weeks in the cardio rehab clinic in Rüdersdorf, which is about 30 kilometers away from Berlin. She's been absolutely excited about it ever since she got hospitalized, since over there she won't be bound to a single room most of the day.

Good :) Su doesn't seems a bit too outdoorsy to tolerate a little hospital room for long.

It really is. I miss her terribly. Dx But honestly, after she told me there was a chance she could have died if she'd have hesitated to see her doc, after knowing there was a higher chance she could have died during the transplantation since she wasn't in her best shape yet, I'm still just happy she's here and she's fine. I was scared like I never was before on that day. ^_^;

Yeah a healthy dose of perspective can help you cope, but at the end of the day it's still hard not having her around. All in due time :)

I'll just laze around, watch some TV, wait until the last bits of my gastritis finally wear off. Su gets transferred tomorrow, so I'll start packing some of her stuff later. I'm glad that I can be the one to drive her there tomorrow afternoon. Haven't seen her for too long already.

I know you laid out her schedule at some point, but where's Su heading now? Great that you're getting some time in with her, must be stressful going so long without her around :(

Main plans are a bit of light gardening and hopefully getting some writing done. Starting a silly little romance story about an immortal to give my brain a break between drafts of the silly little romance story about a Goddess, while I wait for the silly little romance story about a robot to be critiqued.

I'm sensing a theme with my work.

Should we rename you to "Silly Little Nez"?

Yo, gato / waves / How was your evening?

Hey dofu ummm So my friend was on the rebound sooooo there was a lot of shots. Smh

Well were you the rebound or were you just moral support lol. Shots don't fix anything of that sort, but usually at the time it seems like a great idea, so I get it haha.

What type of whiskey?

Bowmore, at least the first few shots. XD

Oo you were hitting the malt whiskey. I prefer rye :)

What's your weekend looking like?

Last night we had a few friends over and did a huge layout of stuff to put into bao (steamed buns). Pork belly, broiled eel, rolled omelets, crispy chicken, and lots of greens and pickled things. It was great a great time :) Kanojo's best friend was there and she's never really been the warmest with me, but I think now she's resigned to the idea that she's stuck with me in her life and is trying to get along more lol.

Today it's just a lazy day with kanojo for the most part :) Out to play a little basketball later but that's about it. Game 6 of the Warriors vs Thunder tonight, so we're really nervous about that :|

Tomorrow we're going to a barbecue at kanojo's parents home so ya know that can go perfectly fine or her sister and mom will have another blowout and we'll carefully try to tiptoe away from the situation lol...

SCA is Society for Creative Anachronism, an international medieval recreation group. There are chapters all over the place, and it dates back to the 60's. The basic concept is to recreate all the good bits of the (mostly European, but the scope has widened a lot over the years) middle ages,

Sounds like fun :)

but without the wars, plague, famines and rampant sexism of the era.

Never took a particular interest in the middle ages, and I think this might be one of the reasons why lol, good to omit a few things.
