You know I would respect the hell out of this series if they go the hardcore realistic depressing route. Like someones' bottled up emotions expload causing an incident that breaks up the group or they somehow keep this balancing act going until they graduate. Than they drift apart after several years. Than in the last chapter they get together for some school reunion and it reveals that they each found a different way to cope for their messed up love triangle. Like one found a decent guy and preoccupied herself with raising a family, another just kinda broke down and took to sleeping with every woman under the sun, and the last one buried her feelings in work.

Somehow this sounds like a Makoto Shinkai movie ending

It's pretty obviously a happy ending, if you take the epilogue in account.

Shou acknowledges her little sister for the first time in five years. I think it's implied that their relationship went south ever since Yuu recognised that Shou thought her as a nuisance, and actually taking the effort to greet her is a small, but symbolic gesture. Also, Yuu's classmates talking about the ghost (i.e Chiharu) hanging around the house implies that Shou managed to make contact with Chiharu and is actually buying a cellphone to contact her. Also, Chiharu saying that Shou 'grew her hair long again' pretty much spells out that they met after Shou got her hair cut. And that big ass smile from Shou in the end isn't something that ever happened through out the manga. You can't get anymore clear cut, really.

Agree, pretty much my thoughts on this epilogue although the author did it in a very implicit way.

I didn't like this last chapter, i'm quite a passive person myself like the MC, but there it was too much, she was like a dead fish floating on the water waiting for the end of the world...

Yeah, Sawada's old style is very moe (no pun intended) but she looks stunning now, love both too but i prefer the new style. Besides Miko with blonde hair is a very rare sight so it's all for the best xD
