I think the big flaw the ending had was that Shou was shown changing very little throughout the series, despite Chiharu's best efforts. That meant most of the stuff at the end of the last chapter didn't resonate very well. There was nothing really to invest the reader. I do like that Chiharu is relying on her to actually put in effort to find her and potentially start a real relationship, it's the one thing that the reader has to really hold on to.

If she does find her, or at least start searching, in the epilogue, that'll help a lot.

Maybe I'm just insufficiently jaded due to not having read Stretch, but the subtext in the first chapter gives me a lot of hope. There's the old standard "weirdly intimate friendship between women that may or may not be construed as potential romance" (trite, but I love it because I'm yuri trash), but the amount of interest and commitment Kazuki shows towards Kaede seems like an indication of latent homoromanticism (no signs of homosexual interest... yet). The (ex-)boyfriend notices it despite never even seeing the two in person, though he ends up expressing it in the most ass way possible.

I think the long-distance nature of her relationship with Yuuji was a metaphor to Kazuki's emotional distance to it. She's going along with it because she's trying to sculpt her life around the heteronormative hard-working wife ideal: she's doing it because she feels like she's supposed to, not because she personally wants it.

TL;DR It feels like A Room for Two: Post-Grad Edition. Kazuki = Kawawa, Kaede = Kasumi.

She even said she dint want "it" to be exposed, that she deliberately wanted to stay far apart enough to not shine through how she wasnt invested emotionally. It was even specified she wasnt sad, it seemed more like disappointment.

coming from a re-read i sure would love their relationship flourish on an extra after all Gaku went through. Now im gonna say its pretty lucky that somehow Alice seemed to convince Jaunt to not be pieces of shit for once, like cmon they were sending hired killers on Yukari when she refused to go on multiple of Gaku's timelines even when she dint actively went against Jaunt.
I also dont understand too much why she choose to break her memory connection to hers pas lines afterall, i get it that shes supposed to support and see help, but why forget all the hardship? Too much emotional weight? She only started loosing the connection after breaking the fone and willingly blocking the reception out. Interesting how she kept her final millenium old maturity even after forgetting it all though.

Is it just me, or does Sun Jing act more and more like an alien who wasn't really briefed on human interaction? She can handle school, but outside that is incredibly out of her depth.

im liking this a whole fucking lot, but the pacing seems strange, more like the division between the events isnt done well enough, like the author barely puts a blank panel or SFX and i get a bit confused since its more comprised of multiple short "happenings".
Also i can never figure out the names, i already suck at names, with these foreign ones dont help too. On these last chapters i almost thought the radio guy was the guy that was with the white haired professor (well ill admit their hairs a bit different but their character design is pretty close).
Nevertheless im liking it and i want more! (thank you people for bringing it here)
