I love this series and I just found out that they're the same mangaka as The Aquatope on White Sand. So was the anime yuri-ish or just platonic pals saving the aquarium?

I thought the Aquatope on White Sand manga was an adaptation of the anime rather than vice versa though.

IMO the story had been presenting Sayo and Rinna on such an equal footing (down to their position on the volume covers!) that there was no way to make the choice between them not feel arbitrary.

I'm reminded of the chapter where Yotsuba and Miura reduce the Ayase household to just total chaos, then we suddenly jump to these two relaxing on a beach enjoying the quiet.

They're so devoted to their fifteen minutes together... wholesome as heck
