I would argue that would still be enjoyable to play someone you don't relate to. I assume no one relates, aside really messed up people, to most GTA protagonists and yet it's still succesful.

I'm not against playing as assholes unless they're insufferable hi Donte but the whole idea of having a "player avatar" is so you can easily self-insert in the game world, which is also the case with silent protagonists in the likes of Link, Samus and the Ace Combat protagonists
But if you're going to make the player avatar having so much personality of his own and doing dubious actions that the player may not agree with, then why keep with the player avatar charade? Just name him Robin/Kamui already and roll with it, as much as i love naming everyone Dan Green at every chance i get it still defeats the purpose

Inigo's daughter pretty much acts exactly like he does and is constantly chasing skirts. You later learn she does this to get back at her father for abandoning her and constantly flirting with other women that aren't her mother, but it eventually became a habit and she can't stop. The entire thing is presented as a gag and the character is ultimately only interested romantically in men, but enjoys flirting and touching with other girls. See College Lesbian for the closest equivalent in the West to this anime trope.

In her support with male Kamui (the player character), she confesses she has a weakness around really cute girls and will often faint if she finds them too cute, which could be problematic on the battlefield. Kamui decides to help her by slipping some sort of magic powder in her drink so that she temporarily perceives all males as girls and girls as males, the idea being that it wouldn't work for some reason if she was aware of it. He then practices praising her and being around her for a time until she gets used to being around other girls. The potion wears off, she thanks Kamui for his help, and then, if you choose to do so, she'll confess that she is romantically interested in Kamui, even though he is a boy. This was all translated by /feg/.

Fast forward a few days and some dumb tranny on tumblr decides that Soleil was actually a lesbian this entire time, Kamui date raped her, and the entire support is about gay conversion therapy to turn Soleil straight. The tranny blogs this and it gets reblogged on tumblr thousands of times. The tranny later admitted to not owning the game, never playing it, and not actually translating the script himself. A couple of "journalists" pick this up and articles about Nintendo including gay conversion therapy/corrective date rape in the new Fire Emblem pop up on sites such as Destructoid and Mary Sue, adding to the shitstorm already in progress over potential censorship of the raunchier game features.

Drugging without consent is still kinda fucked up and makes me wonder why this dude is the player Avatar when it's impossible to relate with the guy, just make him his own character already

M.U.G.E.N seems to be getting pretty advanced nowdays

The drug only lasts for a while to get her used to being close to girls without fainting so she would have no problem out there, dude kinda uses this as an opportunity though

I had actually heard the gay conversion part was false and she had identified as bisexual from the beginning, though the other stuff is true...

Apparently she had one line where she says it's not 100% impossible that she could consider a guy, but otherwise she talks about her preference for girls.

Other than that though, the part about being her being drugged into liking guys wasn't true - she considered her fainting over cute girls during battles a weakness and the drug thing was supposed to help her overcome that. The whole support seems to have been written really awkwardly, but I seriously doubt that Nintendo would display such overt homophobia in one of their games.

Yeah the post i quoted went a little overboard, it's still rubbing salt in the wound though with the whole only one lesbian relationship possible while there's another perfectly suitable character around

Well, reading from the transcript itself i'm not as pissed as i was just now, 'cause this is kinda... Laughably bad, the support conversations in Awakening most definitively wasn't it's strongest point and from the looks of it Fates hasn't changed it

So... Uh... I was taking a stroll on /v/ when i stumbled upon this:

So, there’s a female character named Soleil in Fire Emblem Fates. She is a lesbian, that is her actual canon character trait. She speaks about being attracted to girls and she finds men ugly, and yet you can’t romance her as the female Kamui (the player avatar), only as the male Kamui. How you may ask? Well, you’ll regret asking.

So the male Kamui drugs Soleil with a magic powder (without consent) that makes her perceive men as women, during this she begins having feelings for the player, so far suggesting it’s only because she now perceives them as a woman. When the powder wears off, she finds herself in love and attracted to the male Kamui sexually, asking him to touch her and so forth.

In her early dialogue she speaks of her lesbianism as a weakness preventing her from being a strong woman, and this is what causes the player to go through with drugging her and “turning her straight”. Once again, there is no option to romance Soleil with the female Kamui, despite her being a lesbian, you must go through with magical gay conversion therapy if you wish to romance her.

I don't quite know how to research stuff for Fates so... Is this for real?

@Kyonne: you said Xenoblade took you around 50 right? did you complete colony 6? I feel like that's taking forever that and affinity grinding

Hahahaha lol no, i did try at least some of the Colony 6's quests to get the portable gem thing, but it was such a pain in the ass that i couldn't bother anymore, not to mention it's unnecessary since you can easily fast travel back to Colony 9 and fuse gems there

After i beat it i did start a new playthrough trying to complete every quests, i spent over 5 hours doing nothing but quests on Colony 9 and it didn't even raise one affinity star in that bionis forsaken place, shit's insane

Maybe your inspiraton doesn't want to surface just yet, i had my moments of not being able to convey properly to the paper what my head was thinking, but being stuck on it won't help much, do as Nezkun said and write some shitty crap on it and then move on, if even this is proving to be a challenge then leave it blank, maybe the next page will shed some light on what you have to do on the previous one

Hah, i'm quite the opposite actually, i can't use clubs in single player for the life of me but they're delicious to use in multiplayer, today in particular i got a fine liking for the Halo Club, spawned as Pit twice in a row with these and it's charge shot is just too good, poor fellas dropped like flies trying to get me Thank you random japanese dude for putting reflect barriers to protect me kinda impressive that you can still find full Light vs Dark rooms

Taking no damage is actually pretty easy depending on the stage though. So trying to do those first a couple of times might prove to save some feathers

Yeah, especially the ones that let you go to 0.0
But the thing is, most of the remaining challenges are speedrunning ones and the ones about beating certain chapters at 7.5/9.0 with a specific weapon group, the speedrunning ones are a lot less headache inducing than no damage since you can easily get hit by a random boulder if you're not paying attention Fuck you chapter 18 and the 7.5/9.0 ones with specific weapon seems like it requires some work but i really want to do those to diversify the gameplay a little bit since i've been using the Rose Staff non-stop for a long time now so it should be fun

Aw yes! Nothing like getting my 200th multiplayer match at the same time with the every club get and every weapon
87 out of the 120 Hades Challenges completed and still got 4 unused juicy feathers, i'll probably use them on the ones that requires taking no damage
