A second season wouldn't go that far. The show only covered 1/3 of the series. It might go up through the table-turning Kyoto school trip arc, which is where Ucchi is driven mad by Tomoko and becomes obsessed with her.

The anime does treat Tomoko's emerging relationship with senpai Imae Megumi, the angelic being who saved her soul through kindness.

The show is brilliantly done and the voice actress for Tomoko delivers an acting tour de force.

You're right. Tomoko's obsession with Yuu is breaking up as she makes other friends, and the sexual pressure is apparently going away with it as she finds new friends to harass. Not that she'll ever stop wanting to cop a feel when she's close to Yuu.

Tomoko has the incurable hots for Yuu, but it's not reciprocated at all.

Yuri barely knows Yuu.

This is pure fantasy.

Many of the doujins for Watamote might as well be extra chapters for the real series. It's like the authors have created a lovable, twisted little cosmos with all kinds of inter-dimensional loops that lead back to the source.

For those who haven't read the series - This is following up chapter 139, where Tomoko cruelly bullies Nemo along these lines, which Nemo richly deserves. (In the series, Tomoko is a lot more subtle.)

Don't give Asuka ideas! She would DEFINITELY put animal ears on Tomoko.

In 139 chapters of this series, there have been no substantial male characters except for Tomoko's brother Tomoki. There have been at least ten well-developed female characters and a rich focus on female friendship. Why see a "sharp het turn" coming? We'll be lucky if it goes on beyond high school, anyway.

Chapter 139, college-shopping with Nemo and Akane, is GREAT.

Interesting alternative route.

Asuka likes gyaru styles but doesn't know others don't.

Minami's luck with Asuka is ticking away.

I'm talking about the character. You know... the only thing we have. He wasn't a threat at all by the end.

That's the entire point of the series and the point of the title. It's not in question. Tomoko's journey is from self-hatred and self-deception to a gradual opening up to her own nature and the outside world.

It's only fair to see Andrew as he ended up rather than as he began, character-wise. As it turned out, he was charmed but restrained in his dealings with the younger Akko, and quietly supportive of his childhood friend Diana. In fact, he facilitated their friendship. His own presence in the story had to do with the importance of magic as a force of wonder rather than the expedient cowardice of politics that threatened to consume him. He was a gentle, good man who was never a threat to our favorite pair.

Messed up one of the series' sweeter moments, but that's okay.

YurixLily--Yes, it's from chapter 137, pretty much in all detail. Yuri's not freaking out as much in the manga as in this.
