The precedent on Dynasty is to use the official names when it comes to Pokemon characters, with preference for English names over the Japanese ones.

Transformation fetishes are surprisingly common, and you won't be thrilled to find out half of the stuff people like to imagine transforming into.

Back on topic:

I like how wildly different in tone interpretations of this story can be. The main character is transforming her friends into lifeless dolls so she can literally own them forever and the story is horrifying. Or she's simply creating purely symbolic effigies of them that she can hold on to as a psychological defense mechanism against her feelings of abandonment from having to move so frequently in her youth and say goodbye to so many friends and the story is just really tragic.

I think Yuzumori's reaction might have something to do with a past incident. Something similar might have been said but she got betrayed in the end, hence the disgust/fear at Mimika's words.

I'd say it depends on the exact construction in Japanese. If it's along the lines of "I don't want to be friends and nothing more", a misunderstanding where she stopped listening after "friends" would be likely. There's one other possibility I can think of, but to best explain it, I need a timeline:

• All three go to a park
  
• Mimika leaves, Shiroi and Yuzumori "talk"
  
• Mimika returns, Shiori leaves
  
• Yuzumori confronts Mimika about the differences in how she treats her and Shiori
  
• Mimika asserts Yuzumori is special to her, despite Shiori's best friend status
  
• Yuzumori delivers her ultimatum and 'confesses'
• Mimika responds in kind, but then breaks down
  
• Mimika says she "can't just stay friends" while crying
  
• Yuzumori becomes angry then disgusted with Mimika

Following the events, I think it's possible that Yuzumori thinks Mimika's dumping her, possibly on the command of Shiori. Not helping is that "it's impossible for me to give up" doesn't necessarily flow from "I like you" and could be interpreted as referring to her relationship with Shiori - ie, she's not able to let go of her current girlfriend and has effectively rendered Yuzumori the other woman, with a tenuous, rather than committed, relationship. If her father cheated on her mother(or vice versa), her chances of interpreting things in terms of infidelity would skyrocket.

That's a very good breakdown and seems likely. Yuzumori doesn't have a reason to be furious at Mimika. If Yuzumori were interpreting Mimika's confession as a straightforward "break up" between the two she'd be confused and/or saddened. The only thing in the series that has earned any of Yuzumori's ire is Shiori. Given the context of these last few chapters and the vagueness of Mimika's dialogue, it's very possible that Yuzumori believes the break up attempt was Shiori's doing and her reaction at the end of this chapter was an amplification of Yuzumori's distasteful first impression of her.

This is fairly interesting as it seems to lead to a confrontation between Yuzumori and Shiori, in which the latter may or may not, intentionally unintentionally, divulge the nature of Mimika's attraction to Yuzumori.

I just typed "lizard" in the Dynasty search bar.

I would find it infinitely more interesting if Yuzumori was actually disgusted by Mimika trying to go down on her.
I get that the misunderstanding route would be the easiest one to play out in this situation, but considering the author already surprised me a little by not having Mimika do what she thought of at the first page, I'm now expecting good things from this.
It would be great to see the lolicon issue be tackled as something real for once in a manga.
The fact that Mimika's intentions seems actually pure would make it even better.

Eh. It would be more interesting in a sense, but then where's the author supposed to go from there? It's clearly a yuri manga, so the author would have to use the tired old trope of "If its you, its ok" that we've seen countless of other times. And the lolicon angle has been tackled before in Yoshikawa Ginza District 4. What'll be more interesting is seeing how everything between Yuzumori and Mimika's friend will go down. I say just keep it at a misunderstanding where Yuzumori is just mad at the fact Mimika said she didn't wanna be friends anymore.

A story exploring a concept doesn't automatically write that concept off as a possible element in other stories. The nice thing about having lots of different stories within a genre is that they can each explore its tropes with their own set of interpretations.

"It's just a misunderstanding" is the cheap and easy way out of this development in Yuzumori-san; it doesn't gel with all of the tension that's been built up over the past 10 chapters.

"Men's Bathroom" reaffirms that eventually, Bocchi is going to have to befriend a guy.

I don't think we've ever seen a male student at Bocchi's school, but that doesn't rule out the presence of male faculty.

Even if she only attends girls-only schools, eventually Bocchi will grow up, graduate from high school and/or college, join society at large and end up interacting with the opposite sex in some way or another.
