The MC was a girl from rural Japan who go into this elite girls high school. I think her mom had gone there, so she was like a legacy or something? Anyway, her mom made her sailor uniform for her and when she got to school, she was told they didn't wear those uniforms any more but they let her wear it because she really wanted to. I think her dream was to be an idol.

Plot elements I specifically remember:
- there was another girl, blonde hair, and she came to MCs house to go swimming.
- one of the girls from the school taught the MC how to make fried cookies (or a treat) and the MC ate them all. I know, strange thing but it's what I remember.
- the MC's father did not live at the house with them, but he came one night for dinner. The mother told the father to compliment the MC on her sailor uniform because it was so important to her.

The thematic element was this sailor uniform the girl wore. As I said, I seem to recall it was doujin.

You have changed my mind about the Trigger Warning tag. As they are now, I think theAngst, Drama, Tragedy and Depressing as Fuck tags serve the same purpose that Trigger Warning would, provide ample warning, and are broad enough to mostly preclude spoilers, while not being so broad or vague as to make search and blacklist useless (as I suspect Trigger Warning would).

Personally, I have found that the way tags are currently handled do a pretty good job of warning about content without telegraphing the narrative. As long as the Suicide tag - and any future content-specific tag - is only used when it constitutes an obvious dominant theme, as you said, then I trust the discretion of the site staff.

Also, just a shout-out to the site staff, in general. It's easy to forget just how much work and thought goes into keeping something like this running. It's great that you manage to remain so open and transparent.

Maybe general Trigger Warning tag for those cases?

I would second the use of a Trigger Warning tag, and perhaps have it apply more broadly to such content that warrants a warning (suicide, rape, mutilation, etc.), but would otherwise constitute a major spoiler if tagged as such directly. My worry is that if the Trigger Warning tag is used too narrowly (such as only for suicide), it would be no different than having tagged it directly, as a reader would still be able to guess what the Trigger Warning tag contains, and would thus serve no purpose in hiding narrative spoilers.

It’s difficult to find a balance between properly advising readers what they are in for, accurately tagging for search results and filtering, and outright spoiling the story in the tags. Does Dynasty have any kind of “invisible tagging” function, that is recognized by individual blacklists and the search bar, but is not visibly displayed in the tags list?

Don't suppose anyone knows if there is a Vol. 1, and if so, where it might be found?

I'm actually most inclined to begin integrating all of these into two-part (or more, in rare cases) series. This addresses a number of issues that other solutions unfortunately don't, and it's much easier for us to do now than when we originally chose the tagging solution. Will definitely consider your suggestion in the meanwhile, thank you.

Any change that would make it easier to navigate between a work and its appropriate prequels and sequels would be great.

If you think it would prove beneficial, I suspect you could offload some of the work onto the community. Perhaps, a thread in which members could indicate which prequels and sequels belong together, and in what order they should be listed. This could allow site staff to keep track of what works need to be grouped.

Are there currently any plans to expand the way Prequel and Sequel are tagged? I find it a little inconvenient to have to scroll through the comments in the hopes that someone provided a link to the sequel or prequel of a work, oftentimes having the story spoiled before I have even read it. This is compounded by the fact that the titles of a multi-work series may not have an obvious indicator in the title to tell whether it is “Part 1” or “Part 2”.

To be clear, I’m not referring to multi-chapter series that have a series page and description, on which all the chapters are listed, but to the oneshots and individual works that have sequels or prequels.

A simple solution could be to pin a link to the sequel or prequel of a work at the top of the comments section, so that it can be easily found without having to scroll through the comments.

The sequel you never knew you needed can be found here. And let me tell you, it doesn't disappoint.

A sequel to X-Chen. I would have never guessed that arguably the greatest Touhou doujin ever written would get a sequel.
