Does anyone else think the anime's art style and entire mood are just a little off? It's definitely adorable and I'm going to continue to watch, but it doesn't have the same appeal that the manga has. (Not that it's less appealing. It's just different)

I don’t get the last page

Awww, this was actually a pretty cute story. I wish more were like this.

She did hide her ears and tail, but not with any serious effort. If a hat and long skirt is all it takes to get past any security they have on the matter, it can't be that big of a deal.

I had just assumed that it was very rare for masters to want to take their beastkin outside of the country, so they didn’t think to check. Now that Master and Mel ran off they might start being more careful though.

I love this manga. It is honestly turning out so much better than I ever thought it would. All the characters are unique and there’s actual development! I’m hooked.

Where was genocide mentioned?

I know I’m months late but I really appreciated the chapter with Sayaka’s backstory where we learned she had a girlfriend in middle school. I like how Sayaka is written to be a girl who knows she’s gay. I find it annoying a lot of yuris have lesbian characters that go through the whole “but she’s a girl??” thing, because apparently they thought they were straight before.

Yeah, was she talking to her friend and explaining everything? That’s what I was hoping for.

I really hope there’s romance between these two girls in later chapters

Chapter 20 reminded me of the confession scene in Yuzumori-San.

It totally felt like a proposal to me and Hana's reply to it was textbook tsundere in my opinion. XD It's not the first time she goes all dere on Miya before saying she meant the sweets, but it feels more and more like a cover up to me. :p

It definitely seems like Hana is developing a little crush on Miyako to me.

Hana REALLY seems to be taking a liking to Mya-San! I hope this continues.

Edit. I think Mel is 10 actually, going on chapter 3 - it says beastkin are put into education till they reach 10 - then they get a master - and it seemed Mel was one of the late ones of her group to get a master.

Yeah, I think Mel is 10 or possibly 11, since she was one of the last to be adopted. In the other Master-Mel series, Mel states that she is 12, so I think that the other story (and the NSFW images) are still cannon, they just take place a couple years from now, where their relationship is already established.

This kind of thing makes me wonder how much of the doujin version is cannon in this version.

I’m pretty sure the doujin takes place about two years after this series. In the doujin, Mel explicitly states that she is 12 years old, while in this series, it is stated that the beastkin are adopted out at “around 10 years old” (Not the exact words used but I know that it said 10 years old). So as for as I’m concerned, the doujin is cannon, it just takes place about two years after this story.

Also- what does everyone think Master’s age is? I would guess that she is meant to be late 20’s to early 30’s but I’m not really sure.
