I took Jing Xiu being 'stoic and cold' as more of an involuntary response, then actively choosing to be that way out of pure spite. She's hesitant to let Ji Youyan in for good reasons, but yeah, the slow development can be so frustrating. But there's a good development going on, and both characters are lowering their guard slowly/acknowledging their mistakes, sooo I have a good feeling for the future chapters (for now).

That's a good point (I assume everyone knows she's a robot, since the lady of the mansion didn't seem surprised), maybe the head maid thought even robots aren't immune to the girl's curse.
