I mean, I guess it's nice they sorted out their feelings and even came out to the sister, but it feels like the manga got axed and the author had to up the pace to get everything sorted

All I can think of after reading that is Maki rushing a surgery so she could go watch Nico sing

I was worried that they wouldn't have time to tie everything up and at the end, I think I was right. The boy just disappears from the plot after giving something of an exposition dump and the sudden stage show feels really ubrupt. Certainly not the worst ending on this site (We all know which series has the luxury of that title) but definitely could have been better.

If there's one thing I appreciate this manga doing, it's giving us yuri Hitomi
