Lol :) I don't think Marisa is too bothered that backfired!

The beauty of April Fool's day is that you can switch between serious and joking based on the reactions you get.

I'm predicting the story will be something along the lines of "our love is wonderful, but must of course end after we graduate. Because gay marriage is illegal in Japan and we will be mature enough to move on and marry men like we should."

In short, a disaster. The article is failing to fill me with the hype.

Does anyone else notice in chapter 37 these new girls seem oddly fixated on Rii?. Kind of makes me wonder if they are going to play the Rii was actually the only survivor and the other girls are her split personalities card, but I doubt the mangaka would be THAT cruel. Right? Maybe I'm just paranoid.

...I can't say it's impossible, but I don't think it's very likely

Oh, it's very unlikely. The fact that they were all visible through the binoculars was a major point against. But it may end up getting heavily hinted at as a troll from the author.

Also, with this new episode, it looks like the anime might be canonizing YukixMiki. I'm not sure how to feel about that as I always prefered MikixKurumi. At least there will be yuri.

The blushing was a bit eyebrow-raising, but it's still too early to say that Yuki x Mii is anime canon. And, if it helps, the manga has been emphasizing Kurumi and Mii's relationship lately.

It's mainly those recent chapters that made me like KurumixMiki. Miki has seemed rather happy around Yuki, but it seems like she has a deeper relationship with Kurumi right now. Yuki's issues seem to limit any relationship progression. Though she does seem to be slowly recovering now.

I greatly appreciate the amount of thought you've put into this, your doing the lord's work

The theological intricacies of Madokaism are always a topic worthy of discussion in the pursuit of greater spiritual knowledge. I thank your for sharing your insight.

In case anyone is wondering, the text behind them says "Baka" over and over again.

So, if Madoka is snuggled up to Homura, inside the sweater than is Homura's only clothing, does it still count as a naked hug? Does the sweater become an article of clothing that Madoka is also wearing, or does it cease to be the article that Homura is wearing because it now has two people inside it? WIthin the space of the sweater, could it be said that they are both naked despite both being within that article? Does the fact that Homura's arms are still in the sleeves mean that she is still wearing the sweater? Would that then mean that she is still technically clothed while Madoka is not? What are your thoughts on the Naked Sweater Hug Paradox?

Especially considering that Yuugi could break her as easily as a twig...

Big girls can enjoy subbing too. Besides Parsee is giving off enough smooth dom vibes here that anyone would go full M.

I think the MakixNico tag could be applied here. Maki definitely seems to be the ringleader of this adorable ambush birthday song.

I like to imagine that there's another page where Nico is all flustered and trying unsuccessfully not to show how happy she is.

I hope the anime gets some of the better scenes from the manga (shovel-girl's "small" dilemma, maybe a flashback with the mall, when they leave the school), things are already lopsided regarding the dog and the teacher in the anime...

I was so confused...

and this is more of a personal thing, but i love the look in their eyes when they lost all hope

The dog sure, but Megu-nee was played almost exactly like she was in the manga. This is clearly after the point where she died. None of the characters ever directly react to anything she says or does except Yuki. They never even acknowledge her presence except when Yuki mentions it. If you remember, there were several chapters of the manga following her death where she was Yuki's hallucination/split-personality.

For some reason I can't help but focus on the fact that I have finally found a writer who is aware that you can hurt people with blanks.

Virgin Squid-kun's initiation has been complete. He has been baptized through blood into the cult of yuri. Welcome to the family.

Not like we need to label them at all cost. I enjoy seeing those two, don't need to put a lil' sticker on them to do so.

The cheering squad have it right : just enjoy the moment ! <3

The cat brought back his yuri flag, it seems XD

Indeed. I find that if you can find a completely accurate label for a character, the writer really needs to work harder.

"It's ok to cry right now."

Yes. Yes it is.

Yellow girl is a soft Yandere. It's much easier to call her than than making up an entirely new word.

There's no making up a new word, she's simply a masochist :P And she is not a yandere.

Ah, but she uses sadism to achieve masochism. So what do you call a sadomasochistic girl who teases another until she can be abused? Is she a masochistic sadist or a sadistic masochist? These are the questions we must ask ourselves.

She's not using sadism :P She's just playing the game and whenever the opportunity arrives she 'opens up and takes aaaall of it inside her'

My point is, she's not a yandere, whether it be a sadomasochist or simply a masochist fine. But not a yandere.

She fired a disruptor at purple and then proceeded to talk creepily about how cute she was when panicking over being at her mercy. I call that sadist behavior.

In any case, I do agree that Yandere is not a perfect word for it, but it's almost half as many syllables as sadomasochist and, on the internet, that counts for a lot. Despite the fact that we aren't speaking out loud. After all, what is the internet for if not pedantic arguments over the proper labeling of fictional characters while looking at porn of said characters.

Can these two opposite positions be truly reconciled within one person? These are the questions we must ask ourselves. In the meantime, I choose soft yandere.

And with page 7 we see Eromame's epic dodge of his usual cuddly sweet endings. A dodge so epic that it circled around to make an established slapstick bdsm relationship between a tsundere and a yandere seem cuddly and sweet.

Where did you see a yandere? There's no yandere here.

I split Yanderes into Hard and Soft categories.
Hard Yanderes are totally insane and will kill for their love.
Soft Yanderes are obsessive to an unhealthy degree but are mostly harmless.

I found the afterword of Chapter 10 to be funnier than the actual chapter.

"We want you to make a Boy-meets-girl standard romance."
"Here is a dragon-meets-drunk comedic yuri."
"Okay, that works too."

This was really, really good, can wait for the next installment.

In any-case I don't think the guy was being an asshole at all. If anything he was being nice by not leading them on, showing quite clearly that he's not interested... and yet they keep trying, making his irritability very understandable. If this showed the reversal situation, a lesbian in the middle of a reverse harem, everyone would call out the guys for being assholes and not the girl. The bias against men in here is so strong that its seems that in order to avoid being called a jerk they must remain silent, or be perfect all the time. Something that is quite problematic whenever a realistic male character shows up. I know that we all love Yuri here but I do find the bias displayed by some people to be irritating sometimes. /rant

Exactly. If anything, this guy should be making it more clear he's not interested so they'll give up before they're emotionally invested. Unfortunately, the fact that he's a harem protagonist means that females will be relentlessly on the attack regardless what he says or does, so his bored, irritated dismissal of them ends up being quite understandable.

Hopefully there are more installments after the finale. There's a lot of potential for humor in this series.

Sanae should be careful. Ika Musume may seem like an M but if monster girl hentai has taught us anything: She who holds the tentacles WILL be the S.

I think the manga did the first episode better

I get the impression that the anime chose to start at a later point and will be using flashbacks for the first few chapters of the manga.

As someone new to the series who watched the anime first and knew nothing going in, I did like how it was all set up. My reactions ended up following this pattern: "This is a little too happy... kind of unremarkable... why has no one moved from their seats all day? Why are we now in the uncanny valley? ZOMBIES and CRAZY PEOPLE!?!?! Hell yes."

Someone knows if it's true that the mangaka abandoned Hyakko? It stopped at volume 6 in 2007, then had reprint in 2012 with a volume 7 in 2013, everywhere says it's ongoing but no chapters were made after that and he's working on another manga already, Abnormal-kei Joshi.

Unfortunately, yes. It is has been on indefinite hiatus since 2012.

And all the fans did weep bitter tears for the loss of this jewel of excellent writing and memorable characters...

She never said why she left home, did she...

I thought it was because her parents/guardians thought she was a burden, her step-brother was a bully, and her step-sister was too controlling. In the manga it was implied that she spent as much time as she could on the run.

I only saw the anime, but wow that's pretty dark.

The anime basically turned one instance of her running away into a much bigger deal than it was in the original story. Surprisingly, Torako's home life, despite its darkness, only seems to get mentioned in passing. Usually only on occasions when she's crashing at someone else's house or seeing how far away from town she can travel with Suzu.

The step brother and sister, at least, eventually turn out to really care about her in their own, very weird, ways. They both get downright scary when they think she might be in actual danger.
