Thanks for the info, Unfortunately, that program doesn't seem to exist on Windows 7. However, I ran the setup program blind without selecting any options, got it to install something, found the right folder in program files (it's name is garbled also) and ran the English translation patch. I ended up with a copy of the game that displays fine in English.

So I guess it's no big deal, though it would sure be nice to know how to make the setup program display right for future reference. (Funny thing is, I have Japanese displaying all the time on my computer including folder names and window names, and this is the first time I remember having this problem on this computer.)

Oh well, at least the translation is running.

Can someone help me? I am running Windows 7, and obviously I have the Japanese language and keyboard installed, but when I run the setup program for this game, everything is garbled. Not Japanese or anything else, so I can't tell what I'm doing. It looks to me like it's trying to display unicode as ASCII.

Thanks for posting this. While the translation is free, the actual game costs money, so I have a question.

Does this story have some real depth to it, or is it mainly focused on sex? While they can be fun too, I already have a few games like that and don't need more. But if the story line has some depth to it, I might find it worthwhile buying it.

Of course, while some of the ones I have have yuri in them, none of them are focused on yuri, so I might buy it anyway.

You might be right, but here are some of the things she's done in the first two volumes. (If you read the summaries in chapter 25, you'll see most of those things) Tried to force Beniko to agree to date her if she won the marathon. Went through Beniko's trash on the morning of valentines day and got into a fist fight with Tsumugi when Tsumugi caught her at it. Stalked Beniko that same day to see who she gave chocolate to (Tsumugi did too). Made the claim that she always knows were Beniko is.Forced a kiss onto Beniko after accidentally (apparently) pushing her down. That will do for a start. It seems she is a kind person, but she does get awfully carried away over Beniko, and I'm not at all certain that she stands clear of the pervert label because of that (though I probably wouldn't have called her that).

Is "Milky" a one-shot? Also are you going to be doing the other chapters from that volume?

Milky looks like a one-shot; in fact, most (but not all) stories from Wildrose are one-shots. At this time, I have no plans to do anything else from the volume; however, if volume 7 is any example, Yuri Project will probably do most of them at some point.

I like your analysis, cameron. I did enjoy this manga. While I got really frustrated with some of the stupider and more destructive things Yukino did, I definitely don't hate her.

Your concerns have been answers, telamon. After examining the page, and discussing it with Procyon who often does quality checks for me, I came up with this revised page 44 which I've already uploaded. Since the Japanese original never mentioned the sex of the person being searched for, I removed those references. I also clarified Ichihara's comment at the bottom of the page.

So, thanks for pointing this out. That makes three revisions shortly after release. I'll have to do better.

On page 38 It could have been "i can't figure it out," but I left it as "I can't figure it" as a slangier way to say it. The original was even briefer.

On page 44, Japanese makes it easy to speak of a third person without specifying the sex. That was the case here with the only actual reference the sex being the "I mean Senpai is popular with the guys" line. Since they spoke of love and the sex wasn't mentioned, we assumed that Ichihara assumed it was a guy (the usual assumption). But now you've made me think about this one. I'll go over it again just in case.

As for The Last Uniform can't you find them somewhere if they're already translated (if they're tranlsated properly)? I also thought that the extras for President and Vice-President were done, or are there other extras besides the two that are done?

There is the out of print and license expired official English release of vols. 1&2 of The Last Uniform, I won't be copying either the translation or the books, both because I'm not comfortable with that, and because I'd rather use my own translation.

As for President and Vice President, the extras that have been released are shorts from magazines. What I will be releasing in a few days is the extra pages from the tankobon. They include a six page special (only in the tankobon) that's never been released and the artist's afterword, as well as the jacket, cover, table of contents and other pages.

"Rice Flower bread"? Flour maybe?

Thanks for pointing it out; it's fixed. That's two homonym error in one release. I try to watch out, but that's a weak point of mine.

Please continue to point out any such errors you might see in my releases.

Speaking as an editor, Yes! That one is very difficult. All the varying star gleams through varying tones, no pattern and not very much to work from, I would loose hope.

Also, I don't hate Ouzumi that much. It seems like all his actions so far are based on his feelings for Sakura. Sure, the groping was definitely over the line but I get the feeling that Sakura might be the first girl he's really into at that age. He's bound to go over board with his hormones and all that. And that part where he talks about how "disgusting" he thinks it is seems like it was because he saw how hurt/conflicted Sakura was about it. He lead with "Doesn't he know that it'll just end up hurting your family?" so It seems to me that he's really more concerned about matching Sakura's feelings than expressing disgust.

You might be right, but that's not the impression I got (except for being hormone driven). It seems to me that Ouzumi attacked Sakura in ch 1 simply because he wants her, and that he lashed out verbally at her brother/sister simply because he was jealous. I could be wrong, but I got the feeling that he doesn't care that much about her feelings except as to whether she likes him.

Well, regardless of his motives, I will admit when he attacked Sakura, and when he said effectively that her sister must be a boy because he's a boy (that's what I heard) I wanted to beat him silly. I guess that means I don't like him either.

By the way, is it just me, or in the last two pages, did he develop some interest in her big boobed sister (former brother)?

I did buy the English releases a while back, that's where the volume 1 and 2 summaries came from, as well as part of how I ended up deciding to scanlate volume 3. The second edition doesn't seem to have been changed, but it does have new bonus material, as well as new 20 page specials and a new afterword in each of the two volumes.

The chapters are short and fast to do, so right now, I'm leaning toward working them into my schedule as I get to them. Since they were previously published, I would take a bare-bones approach, that is skip time consuming redraws, omit outside quality checks (I'd still check quality myself) and the like. With that each chapter would probably be very fast to get out.

So, I asked Seven Seas if a reprint is possible, and they answered that they no longer have the license. You can see the question and answer on their tumblr page (yeah, I know, tumblr).

Not knowing Japanese, is there a joke I'm missing there?

The story revolves around "The Little Prince" and his little planet. Star and planet are the same in Japanese (and planet means moving star, if I remember right), so it seems that Morishima Akiko shaped all the names around the theme of stars, especially The Milky Way.

星海みるき -> Hoshiumi Miruki -> StarSea Milky (To Japanese Miruki sounds EXACTLY like the English word "milky").
天川フネ -> Amakawa Fune -> HeavenRiver (The Milky Way) Boat.
ステルラ (the school) -> Stella -> Star (In Latin and Italian).

edit: And yes, naming one character Milky, and another after The Milky Way can easily be considered over the top.

America = US.

This was written for the people of Japan. So we should ask how the Japanese see it. Note: I'VE NEVER BEEN TO JAPAN, so this is all from what I've read and watched, as well as studying the Japanese language.

In Japan, "America" (the English word, not the Japanese word "Beikoku") seems to be a synonym for the USA. Also in Japan, there is a stereotype that foreigners in general, and "American's" in particular commonly kiss as a form of greeting. So it seems to me that at worst, Morishima-sensei is just playing along with that stereotype, which most of her target audience holds.

In their favor, people of all countries (not just Japan) often have inaccurate stereotypes of other countries.

Edit: My opinion is that Morishima just needed a pretext to have her kiss without liking girls.

I get the idea that Toujou is supposed to be inscrutable, hence her stiffness. Just my own impression. I have nothing to say for the other characters.

It still seems a bit odd that copyrights are being invoked in an instance where the only options are more expensive, inferior (the $4 book on B&B is listed as creased and the more expensive ones are worse) used copies. I'm not sure who they're supposed to be helping at this point. It certainly isn't the original author or even the publisher.

I don't know about other scanlation groups, but until they are no longer listed on the Seven Seas webpage, or until someone can show me that the license is no longer valid, I'm not touching them. Besides, you never know, if this scanlation happened to become popular enough, they might even pick it back up and do a 3 volume omnibus (since they already have the first two). Well I can hope anyway.

Edit: And its worth noting that the second edition of this title has been relatively recently published in Japan (in two volumes with new special chapters). I can immediately think of one case where a manga has been republished in America after the second edition came out in Japan (Sailor Moon). Of course the first publishing of that one sold much better in America than this one.

They may list that price on their website, but if you actually follow the links (the drop down) those prices aren't actually available anywhere. B&N is willing to sell you them for $54 or various prices used and no one else has them at all. So that's not actually a thing or I would get them.

Hmm. I poked around and it seems you are right. It seems that this Macmillan Publishers doesn't even have them (at least I couldn't find a link to actually buy them). They were at B&N, Amazon and I think one other, with mostly high prices.

Current prices for used copies start at $4.84 for volume 1 (there were 5 copies at $10 or less), and $38.75 for volume 2. Volume 1 is somewhat cheaper than the last time I checked, but volume 2 is much more expensive than the last time.

My usual trick if I'm not willing to pay the prices offered, is to check back every once in a while. Eventually, you might get a better price (as has happened with volume 1 here). If you want it now, the prices above seem to be about the best option. Sorry.

Edit: One more time. As far as I can tell, only B&N and Amazon have copies. Amazon as noted above. At B&N for volume 1, I found one used copy for $4.99, and several more much pricier. For Volume 2, B&N had a $29.99 used copy, and more that were pricier. If you check places like ebay, they may have them too.

Ah. This one is because of my personal preference. Basically, I included every page that had not been previously released, even though six of them were between chapters pages of that one quote.

It's the same thing as when I include blank pages in my regular releases even though they are blank.
