This been bugging me for years.
It's about an adult couple living together, and there's also a secondary couple.
The secondary couple consists of schoolgirls with typical butch/femme dynamic (I think, can't quite remember).
The more feminine of the secondary couple is either living together with or like to visit the main couple's house. She might be a relative or a neighbour, and the main couple often acts like mentors for the younger girls.

It's been a long time since I read it, so I'm probably wrong, but it reminded me of this.

Nay, it's a lot more comedic than this. Also it might be a series. My memory is quite hazy. Thanks tho.

^ In Japan, the first games were Red and Green, so the protagonist and rival are Red and Green, while a third person introduced to have someone with each starter was Blue. However, when released outside of Japan, the games were changed to Red and Blue, so the third person had to be named Green instead. Either way, Yellow is Yellow.

^ It's a reference to a tradition in a certain Japanese all girls schools where every year, there is an event where students go around in pairs clipping flowers to decorate the school with. The pairs must be students from different years, and the younger is supposed to present a pair of silver scissors to the elder, and if the elder agrees to participate in the event with the younger, she will give the younger a pair of gold scissors. It is rumored that sometimes the pairs commit hand holding during the event, and may even become lifelong friends.

I don't know if this is a manga or an anime but there's a scene in which a girl meets up with her former bandmates but upon learning that the drummer is already married with kids and the guitarist (or was it a bassist) is always busy with work, she realizes that there's no way their band from high school can make a comeback. Then said girl plays on the street, then drummer and guitarist sees her and joins her street jam remarking that "this is our reunion concert for a night only" of some sort.
