Why the "eyeshadow"? Why can't the baby be their child? O_O
I'm suuuper clueless about this squid ink game XD

The baby thing is based on some Japanese word mashups.
In Japanese:
"Tako" = Octopus
"Ika" = Squid
"Luka" = The vocaloid called Luka Megurine

Squid girl was telling octopus girl that it couldn't be their child because it was a "TakoLuka" (Octopus-Luka Megurine) and not a "TakoIka" (Octopus-Squid).

I'm not sure about the eye shadow, but you'll notice that her eyes also change color, so it may have something to do with her getting colored contacts. I think she was trying to match squid girl by having green eyes with black around them.

When you're not sure if the readers will get she's a catgirl, you call the character Nekoya Mimishiro.

Well as I understand it, Shinmyoumaru has a height complex and is always trying to become taller. I think a story where she finds a way to get taller but realizes that it would create size issues when it comes to her lover would create some interesting drama.

I would respectfully remind you that I said I knew it was brown in all the art. I simply think green hair works better for her and always end up picturing her with it in the non-color pages.

I was wondering when this series' fanart would finally make it here. First one is pretty strong.

For some reason, despite all the art to the contrary, I keep thinking Kaede's hair is supposed to be dark green.

I like how they're all complimentary colors. And that purple is about to change yellow's color by smashing her into the dirt with a paint roller. That is, after all, how she rolls.

Yeah, for sure. The first word balloon isn't part of it (the "I love yuri~ Yuri is great~"), but the second balloon is. It's the first season opening theme song, which is actually called "The Great Yuriyurarararayuruyuri Incident." The lyrics are:

It seems to now be common knowledge that Shinozaki is an otaku. Not sure what she stands to gain from hiding it at this point. Not that she was ever at risk of losing anything with all the incredibly supportive people around her. Adding in this new girl is either a brilliant move to keep the series going now that Akina is pretty much fully otaku, or is just a somewhat amusing effort to drag the series out now that the "don't become an otaku" joke is losing its umph.

I can't help but think that this series needs to end soon if it's going to go out on a high note.

The story felt a little rushed with Orin rushing in and explaining everything so they could make resolve their issues. I feel like it would have been more meaning full if they solved the problem on their own. Still pretty cute.

I already heard of that saying with the moon... but i still don't really get it! XD

Basically, the idea is that, because Japanese words don't tend to convey feelings very well on their own, speaking poetically about the moon/sea/death will help you convey your meaning better. Unfortunately, it doesn't work very well if the person you're talking to is thick :).

Shouldn't worry too much going by the pictures of them in general.

I had forgotten about the haircut. I'm not sure how a dramatic explosion would relate to that, unless they have to cut the hair to fix damage to her scalp. Should definitely be interesting...

I've used this strategy before. Sitting in a corner and eating your favourite snacks until you work up enough heroic resolve to fix yourself can be surprisingly effective. As with most things, though, it's cuter when Bocchi does it...

Well this chapter ended on a dark note. Most likely this situation will end up with Qui Tong telling Sun Jing she loves her on a hospital bed but there's some part of me that worries that the author might make this about them loving each other despite the fact that Sun Jing is now crippled.

The world of anime and manga does not have nearly enough hot crossdressing girls. You'd think with how many stories about male traps there are it would be more common.

Slightly more information here. The premise sounds fairly typical for an anime-style story. The spriitual world really does exist, but only those strong in the force can see it and become princess knights for the cultists that defend the world against the evil oni. They're definitely playing up the yuri aspect in the trailer, so the story may end up being more or less a backdrop anyway. The art looks beautiful, though, and that usually enough to get me.
