I just noticed the android application, and I love the idea. It seems to be a bit of a beta, and I wanted to give some feed back; this seems to be the relevant place to do it.
A bit of background: I am programmer irl, mostly .net, python and javascript/html. I have developed for windows mobile(unfortunately), I have written a c# windows comic viewer, have familiarity with java, and would be willing to help with development either as a tester or as a coder. I have the ability to build, test and debug android apps.
1) You might want to consider scaling the pages to fit the window initially. It is a mobile app, so while some zooming and panning is probably going to be required, I've always found it nice to see the entire page first and then worry about what I can and cant read.
2) I love the icon, I really do, but I just think that maybe the link to lesbian comic book porn on my mobile phone could use some subtly. Its just so when my kid cousin gets tired of angrybirds, I don't get awkward questions about what akiko is doing to mari. or get known as the guy with lesbian comic book porn on his cell phone. I get the feeling that no amount of explaining would make it go away, and I would have to change my name and live out my shame in a different city.
3) Swiping would be nice, along with the option to change reading order from left-to-right to right-to-left.
that's about it. I would suggest that the development team check out the "Perfect Reader" application to see a really well done mobile comic reader.

I think I set it right, that part of the reader confuses me from time to time.

I think most of the staff would agree in not wanting to put a comments section in because we don't want bloat. I'll pitch it to them anyway though. I'll also poke our tech guy about multi-tag search.

You mean actual romance and not just hentai? I've yet to encounter a good series of such a situation.

All it was, was a test upload of a single page for us to figure out the problem on our side of uploading stuff. There are tons better stuff for you to read than to look at our test uploads for testing purposes, seriously.

Batoto isn't really run by them, just that a portion of the ad revenue goes to those participating.

Well, I'm slowly gaining interest back. But that only means small stuff goes a tiny bit slightly faster. At the time of SH 20 being edited, we had a new editor (nick)named Lucy but she had to leave. These sayuri hime stuff were stuck in a hole for who knows how long, but there's a couple more in the works.
Whether Shikabane Hime will be able to continue under us remains to be seen. I'm only clearing out moldy oldy stuff at this point, which currently doesn't include any more of Shikabane Hime.

I will also like to note that you guys with RSS feeds are friggin' ninjas. Already receiving views about 20 seconds after I upload something.

Edit: Right, we also have an Android application for the reader, which may or may not make it easier for you to browse (should be easier). It is for versions 2.2 (Frozen Yogurt) and up.

Well the maker is a Google employee himself, so uh I'm sure he's going to be more strict trying to not get fired breaking their own rules than what's happening in reality.

It's mangafox, but even dickier than themselves (they made mangahere) since they just upload everything from everyone no matter what. If they have to comply with someone asking for shit to be removed on mangafox, they'll just thrust it onto mangahere and not give a fuck.
I'll honestly say that anywhere but mangafox and mangahere, ads or not, will be beneficial.
No one can stop you from reading on there, but we'll give you very stern looks :|

We don't host everything, like [Yurikai](Yurikai.com) for instance.

Those are Yurikai things, for which they have their own reader for using.
But there's no real need for us to try to host it anyway, other than in an attempt to become a 1 stop shop for all things yuri, which is impossible to be anyway and not our goal with our reader.
While we do keep looking for more yuri to upload, there's no need to split communities in doing so.
Please visit Yurikai for stuff that isn't on our reader and perhaps participate in their active scanlations/community.

Wish there was a more proper group title to attach to it, but its specific whereabouts is iffy. Attributing it to a forum/wiki doesn't quite feel right.
But whatevs, it's up, thanks.

If you have any suggestions on how to improve the reader for overall performance and/or pleasure in usage for the general public, not just for yourself or a small niche please, then please do post it in this topic and we'll see how it goes.

haha I was joking. It's hardly a scanlation if we do that.
Yuri Project technically does that since that's how they make the scanlation. They post translations a page at a time and have the raws linked to all. Those who are interested in editing call on it and then magic happens.

We could also release all future translations in .txt files and just link you guys to the raws.

We did say we'd go and do smaller stuff.

Authors who serialize things in magazines, like Yuri Hime and Yuri Hime S, may opt to release their series in volume format. That is the case with Sayonara Folklore. So they are indeed the same chapter, although sometimes the mangaka may choose to make some changes when publishing a volume.
