Don't underestimate the appeal of Hayashibara Megumi lolis.

Honestly in recent years she's surpassed the main heroine Ran in popularity and more people seem to want Haibara to be the one to end up with Conan.

I'm honestly kind of disappointed in that ANN article. Writing it up all professional-like, when the entirety of the source is a random photo posted on twitter. It bothers me to see them acting all professional and official when what they're doing is essentially tabloid reporting.

But I suppose that's what internet news has become.

can I have a link to the web comic please.

The guys that do it also do a whole ton of Kancolle comics, so those are interspersed between updates of this. The daily upload alternating among those comics and this is how this ends up with an update cycle every 2-3 days.

It's not uncommon and nico video is a fairly popular platform for various kinds of live streaming in Japan. I'm not an expert on the topic, but I know a lot of artists stream themselves drawing pictures, and I know there are also a lot of camwhore-style broadcasts.

Also, they will use video cameras; they'll just generally go to lengths to make sure their faces aren't shown. Through wearing a mask or by very careful camera angles or such.

The author doesn't really go into a whole lot of detail about how the stream is specifically structured, though, so if you think about it too deeply you'll just be left wondering and things will seem a bit inconsistent.

Yeah, I understand that semi-daily updates can be problematic. To be honest, we're a bit troubled with how to handle releasing, as well. The way we're doing it now is a bit makeshift, but releasing as normal would end up flooding the blog with single-page updates.

This is pretty cute. Plus, I actually do like these types of works where no real drama happens. And don't forget, this artist has done actual yuri in the past, so who knows? Maybe something actually will happen in the future.

They get pretty flirtatious quite a bit, but that's as far as it ever goes. CUNE doesn't seem like the kind of magazine to do hard yuri relationships.

Most of the ones I know are straight, not yuri.

Well, I suppose Tsukumo Yuki is sort of unintentionally gay.

All that aside, holding doujinshi events in other places is also hindered by copyright issues. Even in Japan it is a gray area with a sort of unspoken agreement to generally overlook the practice of selling doujinshi because it encourages a healthy and growing fanbase which will then spend more money on official products. However, you are still making money off intellectual property owned by someone else, and there are some franchises that will aggressively defend the copyright. The owners of Doraemon have done it in the past - particularly against pornographic doujinshi.

Taiwan and I think there may be some in Shanghai and other parts of China get by because China has a history of just ignoring copyright laws altogether.

Other places, particularly in western countries, seem like just asking for trouble on that front, though.

No I understand why, I just thought there was a deeper meaning behind the chosen word. Thanks.

No, it's just a translated version of "tsun-uru", where "uru uru" means "teary-eyed".

It's like tsundere, except instead of going dere, she goes all teary-eyed.

Because the entire chapter she switches wildly between acting tsun and being on the verge of crying.

I'm actually kind of proud of "tsun-tears". It works pretty perfectly as an English version of the Japanese used, "tsun-uru".

Sometimes I want to submit requests for other series I do to also be put up here, but I feel like it wouldn't be right for me to do that myself.

She's about to say "mum", but amends it to "mother" to sound more mature in front of Aoba.

To be more specific, being heavily involved in pretty much all the manga my group has done (excepting the doujins and the shoujo one), I'm a pretty big fan of all of them.

Outside of that, there are a number of other series I follow. There are a number of heterosexual romance series included so be warned.

Okusan - because thirty year old housewives are adorable.
Fujiyama-san wa shishunki - great young romance series.
Flying Witch - relaxing, slice of life, but with magic.
Bokugirl - because why the hell not.
Shinozaki-san Ki ota shika ni - everyone already knows this one, I'm sure.
Renai Boukun - romantic comedy / harem filled with absurd plot developments and lots and lots of violence. Also homosexuality of all sorts.
Mahoutsukai no Yome - I think this is easily one of the most finely-crafted story-driven series currently running. The world and all the characters are just fascinating.
Hakoiri Drops - romantic comedy that is adorable but more importantly actually advances various relationships.
Amari Mawari - another manga series by Kurota bb (who does A-channel)
Oshiete! Gyaruko-chan - hilarious series about female issues.
Mitsuboshi Colors - another series by Katsuwo (who does Hitori Bocchi no MaruMaru Seikatsu) about three little girls and the various games they play.
Amanchu

Separate section for series I follow which have been animated
Yuyushiki
A-channel
Kiniro Mosaic
Mikakunin de Shinkoukei
Love Lab
Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun

No longer running (completed) series
Ishuukan Friends
O/A - about an idol and a comedian who happen to have the exact same voice, and the inane radio program they put on acting as a single entity.
Boku ni Koisuru Mechanical - the plot is a total Terminator parody, but with love comedy and sexual tension thrown in. Full of action movie references.
Aria

That is just the stuff I actively follow. There's a ton of other stuff I casually read that I haven't decided whether or not I like enough to really get in to.

It's pretty easy to find out many of the series I like (hint: being a translator, pretty much any series I work on, aka pretty much any series my group releases). Of course there are many others I also read, which are either already being translated or would be far too much work to translate.

Glad theres some het here cuz theres a few a really liked, like Yandere Kanojo and Wakabayashi Toshiya’s 4-koma Collection, the latter specially, which I have thoroughly enjoyed and would've never even known about em if they weren't on this site.

You should try checking out Wakabayashi Toshiya's other series. It has some minor yuri undertones in addition to his normal misunderstanding-based romance style.

Probably in future...but there's no romance in any way yet. Unless a marriage proposal from Moe counts ^_^

While I sure ship them, I hope for a long, long time anything happens. Groups of friends that aren't all-male or all-female, yet without romance, are pretty rare in mangas. Usuall they have a "core couple" binding genders together.

As someone who has been following this manga from the start, and has read through the latest volume,

It does get there.

Bigger spoiler:

It does an even rarer thing of having two side characters start dating each other. In fact, the side characters' relationship advances quite a bit faster than the main characters.

I... don't really listen to much music which that kind of thing would apply to. Outside of seiyuu stuff.

The main distinction tends to be that "visual novel" refers to any game in which the only player input, and the only way the player can affect the story, is to decide between set choices at very specific points. No matter how many of them there are or how many branches they lead to. Because at its base it is still essentially a choose-your-own-adventure novel.

Meanwhile, "dating sim" refers to things where you have freedom of action and movement between areas, and are able to influence things like what characters you interact with at what specific times. They often also include things such as stats to train up. Famous examples include Amagami and Tokimeki Memorial.

of course... why would i want them to be even more puritanical about sexuality? :p

I mean, I'd like to believe that but I'm jaded enough to believe they are more likely subconsciously thinking that lesbian sex is just less hardcore than straight sex scenes.

I checked all the places that sell doujins and if there were any, they are not in print.

Well, it IS drawn by namori, the actual author of the manga.
