I'm also curious to know about Suga-sensei's prospects for work after this series. Now that Tsubomi has shut down, I guess to do more yuri he'd have to find a different publisher? Do we know how the closure/transition has worked out for some of the other Tsubomi authors? In any case, I definitely hope we'll see more from this mangaka.

Suga still has Clumsy Takumi-chan (which incidentally is quite good) running. Not yuri but he won't starve and the moderate success of Notes should give him a foot in the door if he wants to do another yuri work somewhere I think. Most other authors that did serializations in Tsubomi are either already well established or have things running in other genres. Oneshot authors on the other hand...

Dunno. It's been years since I've last read Shoujo Sect, I just remember being both disappointed and bored early on and that one story where the pet club girl essentially rapes another until she gets into it. So yeah, I see some similarities.

The first time I've read this chapter and saw the character roster I had Shoujo Sect flashbacks. You know, the first chapters where it's just random couple of the week having sex for no particular reason. So I understand your pessimism as I'm not a fan of that either. But it will eventually go somewhere.

No. She has two older series, one a rather bizarre gag comedy, the other a romantic comedy where the male love interest is a kappa in hiding. How she got from those setups to a rather vanilla schoolgirl romance is beyond me.

No, if you dislike it, that's that. No need to be reluctant about it. I just don't understand why you would keep tabs one someone's work when it's obviously not to your taste. I have many authors I can't stand but I don't expect them to do a 180, I just don't read them.

Maybe I have the advantage of hindsight because I actually did read the entire book already but there is a plot, there are a lot of emotions and neither are that difficult to grasp. The thing is, Asagi has always used the artwork - facial expression, gestures, symbolism - to convey a lot of subtext and this is even more true here. Now, don't get me wrong. It's not a literary masterpiece full of subtlety but it's also not the usual dumb on-the-nose porn we usually get dealt so maybe that's the problem.

Um, doesn't look like there's really a storyline in this book. I know it's 200 pages book but just looks like it's just going to be a hentai with a weird nonsense storytelling to put in the sex. It made no sense for them to do it. I'm a bit disappointed even if it's the first chapter and nothing is clear yet. I really like this artist.

No, the editor actually did some de-censoring. Don't know why, the censoring is barely noticeable in the first place.

She's never shown being shy around the MC, just around strangers. The porn is still boring and by the numbers like most everything else on this reader but I'm happy they didn't go the "nooo, I'm so shy and that place's dirty" route.

Personally I'm much more confused about how old they are supposed to be, the school looks more like a college and she lives alone but then there's the pubic hair thing.
