Chapter 40 has to be my favourite by far. Getting to see all the different sides and emotions of Ran at once worked brilliantly as a plot device. At that point I might have been tempted to throw out the negative parts to 'cleanse' her of her mourning, but she couldn't be whole with out every little part of her, and that was just a beautiful little theme thrown in there.

those slightly fish-eyeing eyes of hers will haunt me my dreams for a week...

If there was any significance in both kana and yume both repeating the "Persian speedwell" it was lost on me.
