Thanks for the answers, guys, I'm gonna be less dissappointed after watching it now. :D
Season 1 or 2?
Season 1 for now. Didn't even know there was a season 2.
Indeed! There is a lead-ova I think.
And Mushishi IS awesome x)
It really is. I'm only on episode 3 but it has a really nice mood going on. Ginko is probably gonna make it onto my favorite male character list, too.
One of the very few competent, from the outset, protagonists I've ever come across.
I like how Nanami doesn't seem at all bothered by either sex and just hopes it is someone and not worrying if it'll be a boy or girl.
Looks like I'll just watch Mushishi first.
Season 1 or 2?
We really need PMs... I think.
Seconded...feeling bad for derailing threads.
Indeed. Probably the most important feature in any forum and it's missing on this one.
No wonder Kyung-woo sweatdropped in chapter 28 when Seol-a stood up and he noted something along the lines of, 'She's really tall...' I didn't think too deeply on how their height would translate irl but, now that I am... Dang, Seol-a is almost my dad's height. I'd have to strain my neck a lot to maintain eye contact while talking to someone of that height. haha.
Makes a lot of sense now doesn't it. Never bothered me until you mentioned your height and the picture of No-rae craning to see Seol-a just popped into my head ;)
HypocriticalLiar:
Also, I do apologize for the off-topic stuff, that was definitely my fault. I tend to get carried away asking things, and people are super nice about explaining. (Sorry D: )
If only there were a PM option because I kind of enjoy the off topic chatting. It has its own charm and makes the wait for Sun./Mon. that much more bearable.
I personally think the off-topic discussions are a great asset to most of the threads in the sense that the series gives us a chance to explore certain topics that may otherwise be ignored or not even discussed at all. It's never too far off from the main series and can easily be steered back. I mean, it'd be way off topic if I talked about the lizard I saw caressing a bald eagle in my backyard the other day or you talking about your weird sleeping habits when the series we're reading is about a cantina owner on a desert planet and the vile scum and villainy he has to deal with on a daily basis.
Oh yeah! I totally agree with the PM thing! It would be a helluva lot easier to ask other members more pointed and personal questions and generally clear up some of the clutter from threads. (Something I have recommend on a regular basis!)

I think that Ran's bad dream is that Keiko might get an husband and a kids on her own and leave her ......
It's not just Ran's, I think everyone here fears the same thing.
Let's hope this doesn't go the typical "I love you but I want kids, brb gonna find me some dick, see ya" - way.
No, not everyone. I said, further up the page and another member said on a previous page, that maybe Ran is just really worried about Keiko because she saw and was with Keiko during those moments when Keiko was having nightmares. You can think you're over an issue but sometimes a little hare trigger could easily throw you over the edge before you realized what happened and, recovering will be just as difficult. So seeing Keiko with a kid like that all of a sudden, you bet Ran would be really worried, especially after seeing and helping her through those nightmare moments. If anything, Ran suggested boozing to help herself and not celebrate the fact that Keiko may have coped and overcome her nightmares.
Seriously, I don't know why everyone is jumping to the conclusion that, no more nightmare = bring on the penis!! Keiko seems pretty content with her life right now and the last relationship seems like it may have been her wake up call.
I completely ignored that tinsy bit about location. Oops. And thanks for the wiki link Evil. Pretty interesting.
Good to know more is on the way. I really like her artwork and stories.
Thanks!
I really like the way characters are dressed in this comic? I dunno man, that's all I really had to say.
Oh! I thought I had missed something and wasn't paying attention. :)

Erm... there's absolutely no political statement in "Their Story". I doubt they'd go to the extent of censoring this. Except if the author was starting to get international recognition (like being invited to cons, or something), then they may start to look into it.
Really, there's next to no emphasis on this happening in China. There's not even a hint of criticism of anything : there's no homophobia mentionned at all. It's pure romance/comedy.
There doesn't need to be a political excuse for the government to enact censorship. "Homosexuals corrupt the minds of the people! Get rid of it!" That is all that is needed and poof! "Their Story" is gone or hard to find.

You do realize the Chinese government tries to strictly control its people and actively deletes dissidence on the web or anything that could be perceived as a criticism of the government or anything that could, "upset the balance," yes?? Like, gongnongjie said, I'm amazed that this has been allowed since its frowned upon by both the people and government. That's why I'm wondering if the author is based in Hong Kong where China's government is mostly hands off (though that seems to be changing soon =/ ).well, you've got the part right.let me make it all clear:yuri manhua is rare because it has few economic benifits if you are not very good at manhua-making(there are not many yuri fans, only few people can accept and enjoy it.and due to the unreasonable privacy law, pirates are accepted in China, which badly damages manhua-maker's spiritand economic benifits and hence there are not very many original manhuas, and yuri manhuas are rarer and precious.(i'm not good at English, but i do hope you guys have got what i'm trying to explain:))
I got the gist of it mate, no worries :) I also had my suspicions about pirates and raws coming from China. Also, years ago I came across a news report that said China is trying to crack Japan's anime and manga influence by trying to create their own similar industry to compete and take over Japan's.
Can you explain this privacy law a little more? Aaaand maybe how it affects manhuas.

Makes me wonder, how tall are Soel-a and No-rae?
Ssamba's Q&A said they were 172cm (Seol-a) and 161cm (No-rae). So that's around 5' 7" and 5' 3", I think...?
It's funny how I view No-rae as being so short when next to Seol-a, yet she's actually taller than me. facepalm
Wow!! No-rae is 5'3"! My head cannon put them at 5'11" and 5'6" respectively lmao! X-S

@Blackkitty
Speaking of your gay friend proposing to you. I wonder if you or others have heard of this but I was informed a few months ago that it's common for gay men to marry Japanese women here in the states. (Japanese women from Japan.) ......Haven't heard of it, but it makes sense and it's a good way to live happier life being who you are :) Well, it was a funny idea marrying him since contrary to Japanese women I am a proud almost 6ft tall member of the volleyball team in high school soo the guy was shorter than me(2cm but still...) xD and I don't go for short men(even for a fake marriage)..women are another story though.
Wow! Totally missed your post Black! My bad! So you're 6tf! whistles that's kinda awesome. I feel ya about a short partner, I go for tall women myself. In high school a teacher was under 5.5 and his wife was well over 6! It was very amusing XD... Makes me wonder, how tall are Soel-a and No-rae?

I always love it when artists go the extra length to make the fashion in their manga really on point.
Alrighty, gonna have to explain this one to me.

Is that Yui and the chick from Multiplying Lights? Either way, it was really cute.
Yes. This is, incidentally, the first chapter in the anthology, and they're also on the cover.
Really?! Is this, after those other chapters? .925 being another one no?
gongnongjie
it's rare to see this since homosexuality is unacceptable for most people in China.
I don't remember but is the author located in Hong Kong? I tend to hear that Hong Kong is more open minded/progressive/liberal than mainland/rest of China is. (Could be wrong.) So this could be why this story hasn't been locked down yet...???
Nya-chan
It's fiction. If you don't accept it, you just don't read it.
It's not the same as having it shoved in your face in the streets.

Anyway, I notice no male third-party is really involved up to now.
The ex made an appearance but he has yet to play any role, except giving us a bit of Keiko's backstory.
He's played a role the entire story and is very much apart of Keiko's past and present. We just don't have him thrown in our face like other stories.
But the fact he appeared twice looks like a Chekhov's gun.
Well, considering the role he played in Keiko's past and the way the story is being told, it would be almost silly for him to not be included.
They have gotten a lot closer, no doubt about it. But it's understandable as they have been living together for more than a year. And they actually get a lot of skinship because of their stretching practice. I don't think anyone in the world has ever been that close to Keiko, except her ex-bf. Though even him doesn't probably know some of the Keiko Ran knows about.
I don't think Keiko would deny that Ran is now a big part of her life. And if Ran'd leave for some reason, that would hit her really hard. They are clearly a unit.
But I can't see even a kiss happening yet, unless Ran gets drunk and pretends she forgot everything after the deed.
Honestly, I think a kiss would be meaningless unless Keiko was the one to do it. Or ask Ran to, I suppose.
A mutual kiss would and probably is the best way for these two to take that step. I get the feeling that if it is similar to that random kiss of passion in Citrus, Keiko would undoubtedly start avoiding Ran to such a degree that she might stop stretching.
As for Keiko possibly coming to terms with her past and maybe taking a step to finding a relationship and then Ran's, "...I see." I think it was more of the fact that Keiko reeally struggled with the nightmares that affected her so much and to see her playing happily with a kid. I'm pretty sure Ran was most likely trying to hide her doubt and worry from Keiko and the boozing is a good distraction from that heavy topic.

No I am not. Sidonias least problem are the harem elements. It's not even a generic harem. Winner girl dies early and still has relevance throughout the series
I dropped not long after that. Just got kinda... meh for me.
Well could you fill me in on what you didn't like about it cause I've been looking at the series for awhile now and wondering if I should try it out, however, the potential presence of harem elements has so far kept me away.
The story, art, and what not didn't really bother me at all to be honest. I just got bored. It wasn't bad nor was it necessarily good. Also, the harem thing is hardly a factor. Sure the main guy has a few moments like that but they're hardly distracting as far as I can remember. Give it a go and see if you like it.

SNAFU Season 2 is missing a ton of details. Feels like the new season is rocketing through the source material >l-(
But that's what they did in season one too. Some shows just get hit really bad with the seasonal format.
I didn't hear about the LN till long after season 1 ended so I never had a chance to read it but I assume that they did. I think the seasonal format could definitely work if they gave themselves more episodes and a longer season to work with. Then each story arc could last an extra episode or two more and flesh more stuff out.

omg, I disappear for not even a week because of finals (rip my poor battered soul) and there's like a bagillion pages to read lol.
Congrats on surviving! And good luck with your scores and end of semester/quarter grades! I'm gearing up for my last two weeks of school myself >l-X
Also, Random Reader, the temptation is real. Now I'm kinda scared that it's expensive, but thanks for your recs. :3
Oh I know! It's an awesome setting and game. If you ever seriously consider it, check out DakkaDakka where you can read after action reports, look at painted models (some people are just... wizards at painting), read about rules, and ask questions if you have any. Friendly forum that is always eager to welcome in new blood. And, after a while you'll either want to offer blood to the blood god and swear death to the false emperor or burn the heretic, purge the unclean, and suffer not the xenos to live because, the emperor of mankind is mighty and just and you will smite his enemies for him without mercy or sacrifice yourself in the process (especially if you an Imperial Guard).
In other news, I've spent the last 48 hrs trying to recover from the massacre that was my life hah. Someone who didn't even like me before felt sorry for me and was making sure I was okay in their own way. The embarrassment lol.
That sounds really awkward o0
On a newer note, I really liked this chapter!! Unfortunately, the conversation wasn't as deep as I had hoped for....but looking forward to the Bro/Seol-a convo!!
I think it would be a bit of a long process to work through instead of having one conversation. Soel-a deserves a proper answer and both know it. I got the impression that No-rae will properly explain things soon enough to Soel-a but she isn't entirely ready and Soel-a recognizes this. So they are still touch and go. I'm enjoying that this isn't being worked out so easily and that it could take multiple conversations and interaction to work through.

This thread made me seriously lol haha. But thought I'd add in my two cents to the OP.
Like so many other people commented on here, of course, lol. Otherwise I'd be in serious trouble [aka straight girl as well :)]. That being said, I don't think it's a silly question...I mean, if people in RL are bound to question your sexuality if you bring it up, then it's only normal to think it's not "normal" for a straight gal to like it (especially if you're young).
Indeed. It is all about being comfortable and secure with who YOU are and not letting societal norms and pressure dictate what you do and don't do.
Like others have said, I like it because it's ridiculously cute and more "innocent" than normal het stuff. On a more personal note, it also appeals to me because it adds another dimension to the whole overdone "girl-likes-boy-but-doesn't-want-to-ruin-friendship" or "boy-likes-girl-but-doesn't-think-he's-good-enough" tirade. I've read so much romance stuff since elementary school, and honestly the "normal" romance stuff got ridiculously boring/cliche after I'd read the same thing over. and over. and over again. By the time I got to college, I'd gotten so sick of it that I'd pretty much stopped reading altogether haha.
Hear-hear... Though I still read the odd het romance every now and again but overall the genre is just... not that good and mostly very frustrating to down right horrifying at times. You're also forgetting the uber-douchey guy treats main girl like total crap and she STILL falls for him. People review those stories saying things like, "it's such a cute love story, he is so handsome, kind, and gentle!" I'm like, "No! He's an asshole and sexually assault her dozens of times. He should be arrested or have his head checked with a bat." Never understood how these stories get so popular. And it pains me to say it but, I'm like this, "boy-likes-girl-but-doesn't-think-he's-good-enough" to various degrees still. It's probably why I'm a sucker for underdog romances when I find 'em.

I think that bit at the end was pretty significant, where Ran asks about nightmares. After all, at least part Kyouko's trauma was centred around her miscarriage, and the fact that she's okay around kids now and is no longer having nightmares about it suggests she's healed quite a lot. And, more troubling for Ran, may now be less adverse to a "normal" relationship with a man.
Couldn't agree more. I thought that scene was pretty big and the look of near shock and worry on Ran's face when she saw Keiko with the child was very telling in how much she cared for Keiko.
The bit in the music store was interesting though, suggesting that there are depths to Ran that simply aren't obvious at first glance. Nice that Keiko's noticing that.
That and Keiko thinking about her future as well. That whole scene in the bookstore was pretty good because it showed us sides of the two that we don't normally get a chance to see.
Sidona basically just mecha version of DBZ.
Uhm, no?
Hey Maus, you're reading Sidonia? is it harem or not?
No I am not. Sidonias least problem are the harem elements. It's not even a generic harem. Winner girl dies early and still has relevance throughout the series
I dropped not long after that. Just got kinda... meh for me.

tl;dr, what's the point in telling someone to ask for non-yuri when they're only looking for yuri. I don't get it.
This may have been my fault for derailment :( But, you cannot deny the fact that most of the authors of oneshots and series will be posted here at some point or another.
In a topic semi-relevant to this thread...what's with this?
Haha! That's hilarious!
It's on Keith's actual Youtube channel: "I Told You So" - Start at the 3 min. mark.
Crunchyroll can confirm.
Don't you ever sleep?
I do in irregular intervals.
So cat naps?
No one mentioning Nanzaki Iku and Saida Nika? All yuri author mentioned are on my favorite list, manga or doujin almost all yuri authors are on my list, even some with few releases like Ono Hiroki...
It would be easier to ask for favorite Non-yuri, because all the best authors that are here on Dynasty will be said by someone with time...
Exactly, at some point all of them will be mentioned at one point or another. Heck, check out my authors list. It has most of the authors mentioned in this thread already.
I can name my favorite non-yuri authors but I noticed that I only really ever read one, maybe two at most, of their works. And I can count on one hand, the number of authors who've I read more than one work of that I would consider to be favorites (like a top 10 or something). But on the other hand, I've read multiple works of yuri authors. Though, I think that more or less has to do with Dynasty making their works all available in one, easy to search place whereas other sites are kind of a pain to browse through.
