The series and chapters were removed, but the volume designations remained (since I didn't expect it to do this lol). Definitely leftover stuff. Problem is that the 4 volumes are actually supposedly to be removed (can't be accessed by the admin panel). So it's a database issue. Just ignore it for now, probably will be fixed post migration.

Quite a shame, even if he wasn't anyone "special" at all. The law sucks.

The charge was downloading millions of JSTOR records and making them publically available, which are not freely available.

The move and implementation of the new reader estimated to happen on Wednesday/Thursday EST related operating hours (for the Australians out there wondering wtf ;_;)

What's been confirmed:
- We now have a twitter. All posts currently having been written by Michan, but subject to change as time goes on.
- We went down due to high CPU usage, which is most likely attributed to the reader being more popular than we expected the code and everything to handle. Yeah.
- Turning off RSS will not help much at all in the long run. It's not intensive in its own right, it's just giving out a lot more hits than we expected it to on the server. In the end it doesn't matter because...
- We're jumping ship to "to the user formerly known as GOD"'s server, which is better.
- Reader is up in a cached and restricted state due to server-imposed restrictions.

Fun Facts! (all quotes from omnscient0 using google analytics):
- it received 2.5 million pageviews during the last 30 days it was online (that doesnt count RSS requests)
~ that is 81k unique visitors and like 75k-125k views a day
- US is 40% of visits, with a smamtering of countries afterwards at 3-5%
- 47% of visitors are from direct traffic, 38% from search traffic, 15% from referals
~ referrals from yuriproject.org , boards.4chan.org, lililicious.net, tumblr.com, reddit.com, reddit.com, mangaupdates.com, facebook.com, in that order.
- /reader/ gets 19% of pageviews, followed by /added/ with, 3.34%, /reader/tag/yuri at 1.15%, /reader/tag/lots_of_sex at 0.64% and /reader/tag/nsfw at 0.64%
- since Feb 10th, 2012 we have gotten 26,327,200 pageviews and 659,460 unique visitors
- All the files on the server totaled a whopping 60 GB. While we were still uploading things, that still feels tiny compared to today's hard drives, no?
- We pushed 8 TB of bandwidth the last 30 days before we were taken off.

P.S. Uploads of recent releases will not begin until the problems have been resolved.

That's currently not going to happen, regardless of us being able to access the back end of the reader.
While the work is annoying, I don't feel like it's too much for me quite yet.

From what I can tell, that's the last magazine release of Shinigami Alice. Mangaupdates claims there's two volumes out and it's finished, but hell if I can find raws on the internet for even the supposed last two chapters (or whatever was done for it).
Edit: There's 2 more chapters out, along with two bonus things or something BUT they're not in good editable size. I'll consider it if getting ahold of proper scans is just impossible, but for now you can check the last two chapters over at yamibo

Considering we're actively attempting to release stuff (just at dinasty speed), we can be considered "active". However we're, again, just focusing on one-shots and pixiv shorts but nothing serialized. Might be up for joints, might just moonlight elsewhere entirely, might just play video games all day.

I'll focus on getting stuff uploaded to the reader soon and trying to improve its tags via community feedback later;
I left myself quite a backlog.
And no, we still don't have access to the back end of the reader to make changes/improvements to the GUI and structure and all that. Just keep any suggestions for improvement and the like in a .txt document or something since the glue on post-its probably won't last long enough >_>

Sorry, I've seen this for a bit but haven't been in the mood nor have had the time when I would've been in the mood to get to it. I will get to it eventually though.

Scanlation has always been an up and down ride. I wouldn't say we're at a low point at the moment, just near the end of one of the confusing transitionary points you tend to see often. Yuri today is more plentiful and diverse compared with the past, for sure, although it's never a nice sight to see a magazine crumble for one reason or another. Just gotta wait to find out what happens afterwards, if they plan anything for that space.

@Kurenai: That's intentional. While usually we don't want releases overlapping (particularly for series), these are oneshots and WoY translated the afterword so I felt that it'd be up to the readers to decide which they prefer rather than for me to decide.

Discussed this a bit on the IRC (ie. trolling Kokopure), saw this on /u/ earlier than that, although it was more speculative at the time.
Thought it was important enough to grab some people's attention with, in case you're one of the few who, for some reason, choose to only visit this site and/or the reader (bad browsing habits!).

Web series appear to continue as normal.

Now before you guys go proclaiming it's the end of the world on December 21st, 2012, there's still going to be yuri around for sure. The biggest problem would be that there's less of it and less accessible in a central location (might move over to YH?), both for readers and mangaka alike. Comiket (faceless men!) may see a small surge in yuri, it may not. I'm not a business major nor a mangaka, so I can't put any more speculation into this without sounding like... someone I'm not.

We've had plenty of occasions where it's been suggested that there be some easier method of obtaining download links for mass download. I never remember what becomes of them. Always a good time to bring it up again (assuming our tech support man harawa has free time to join in the discussion).
