Even though this is rather lighthearted story, the author really conveyed the undertone of identity struggle experienced by a transgender well, in my opinion anyway.
I'm not a trans and have never met one, so I don't really understand the magnitude of their problem especially if they live in homophobic country. A lot of people response bad about finding out that someone is a transgender. I bet, judging from Yuki's expression when telling the story, Lulu is not the only person she knew murdered because who she is.
As a side note, I heard that the term trap is demeaning. As demeaning as calling a woman bitch. Just a little 2 cent from me.
