With dark hair girl socially isolated and upset, blonde girl swoops in like a magical love goddess to heal all wounds. Now that adult dark-haired girl was becoming more liberated and free, blonde finds bullies again and asks them to tear into old wounds so that dark-hair girl goes back to being secluded and all hers against. However, dark hair girl finds out and reveals the whole thing, releasing the blackmailed bullies from blonde's control, and telling off blonde girl. However, she's basically got stockholm syndrome so I doesn't matter.

If it's alright for me to ask - you don't have to answer - is it that you need financial help or a different cultural makeup surrounding you? Or something else? Curious + I wanna know if there's a way to help you out, so you're not so down you gotta curse at people when it's not necessary (me yesterday at my little sister tbh).

Just to see, I compressed http://dynasty-scans.com/chapters/kase_san_ch24 using "FileOptimizer" to get a quick idea of how much space could be saved. Turned out that it compressed to about half the original size. My guess is, unless someone's around to tell you about optimization, you don't know about it, and there are a lot of amateur editors who are uploading to Dynasty (myself included).

Hey Shynaku, you should start using PNG Gauntlet or jpegcrop to optimize your images prior to release. I could easily teach you how to do it.

HTTPS is something I have been meaning to do for a while. As well as doing a pass on fixing bugs on mobile.

Gzip compression has always been enabled and appears to be working fine for me.

As a scanlation group editor (for multiple groups), I can tell you that the optimization for images varies wildly from group to group. Programs used and their implementations vary and the groups usage of those programs and implementations also varies, causing complexity. I can tell you that on average you would save 4-10% across the board with most manga pngs using optipng (or, even better, trimage and the libs it uses). I can also tell you the jpgs across the website are mostly unoptimized and are using basic huffman tables, instead of optimized ones.

I mean, a basic free CDN is preferable for a large amount of static files than just pulling it from the server every single time. Even if it doesn't speed it up, the site will save lots of bandwidth which will save Gh0st some money. I mean, you could try it and see if it improves anything (even in a beta website, not the main, to see if it improves anything)?

Anyway, back to optimization for the images. It's also important to note that the older the images are, the more likely they are to be unoptimized, just due to the nature of technology and programming. So maybe selectively do newer stuff, but overhaul the older assets we have?

You're right about the resolution. Some people use 1024 x 768 screens while others view the website on their 4K monitors and TVs. There should probably be a set standard for website resolution and then if people want the gigantic ones, just link them to the releasers zips and stuff?

Everything depends on the load and what's uploaded. A lot of things are uploaded in non-progressive format that takes a long time to load.
