For the same reason people like "Abducted by the Highlander" (include glossy naked-chest dude cover) and "Taken by the Billionaire" (include suave dude in a suit on the cover) garbage?

I thought those were only liked by stay-at-home bored ass moms and teen girls with no life in the seventies? Do people still like them in 21st Century?...I am actually worried about mental sanctity of straight women.

To the people replying, I meant to say that I hate that trope, I wasn't talking about this story particularly. Sorry for being hard to understand.

Also, the interaction between these characters is romantic. If you need them to come out and say they love each other before you can see that, then I'm sorry, but your reading comprehension is just very bad. There's more going on in a story than the literal meaning of the dialogue. As well as the usual tools of any literary medium, manga is a visual art, and the imagery contributes to the meaning.

I heeded to your words and re-read this to understand this story better and look at it with a different perspective...but nope, still can't see the Yuri. Maybe I'm blind or maybe you're right, my reading comprehension is just bad. Or maybe people need to tone down the delusions.

The rough definition of "Yuri" in a Japanese context includes EVERYTHING from "romantic friendships" (which, despite what it may seem or sound, has absolutely nothing to do with actual romance between two very close friends), to puppy love, to nightly affairs, and all the way to full-blown romance. All of them involving two or more females.

Subtext or not, this oneshot IS no doubt Yuri.

So why does Subtext tag exist then? By your logic all those Love Live anthologies and series like Slow Start should be tagged Yuri. These are tagged as Subtext for a reason. Most of the "Yuri" seen in this site involves actual romance between two women, not some high schoolers being normal friends, which is exactly what happened in this manga.

Comments like yours are a cancer in pretty much any community. Thanks for ruining a random stranger's day. Go fuck a tree.

Because you are a weeb who can't accept that I called a spade a spade, and "Two girls appear on screen together =/= YASSS LESBEANZZZ"? Yeah, right. And thanks, I'd rather fuck a tree than to be a pathetic person like you who faps to female friendships.

That being said, I am sorry for being so angry and triggered, but I've had enough from this author. I'm one of those people who rarely comment on stuff, but their continuous portrayal of shitty Subtext as Yuri has hit on a nerve (And no, we tomboys don't want to be secretly feminine, fuck anyone who has this kind of mindset). I wasted ten minutes of my life reading this crap, I'll never get them back. So I genuinely beg of the moderators, or whoever is responsible for tagging stories, PLEASE DON'T tag Subtext as Yuri. I'm speaking from the bottom of my heart, I will forever be grateful to you.

Everybody here arguing about tomboys and trans women and I'm just wondering why is it tagged Yuri again? Two girls being supportive friends=Yuri?? Did they show any remote attraction towards each other? No. Did they kiss? No. Did they even give any slightest hint that they like girls? No. Who even tagged this. Are people here that desperate for Yuri? I am so fucking done with this author. I am really starting to hate them. They did the same crap in their previous mangas. I don't pay my internet bills to read trolling Subtext bullshit marketed as Yuri, bitch. Fuck this author and all their works (including the future ones).

Team Gaji have made it pretty clear in the past that their OTP is Suminji. As Taisukeikun said, this couple also has their own twitter account now. So even if TG have the chance to try out the difficult but undoubtedly interesting storyline matsuri_wins is describing, they will never, I think. Also, the epilogue of Paradise was just released and Suminji look happier than ever, celebrating their anniversary.

Again, they have also said it multiple times that Seju is their favorite character in the story and they are pretty excited(?) to write about her and Dowon in One.

As someone who is pretty invested in toxic/complex relationships in fictional stories, Sejumin patching up would be a pretty interesting plot line to me. But at this point, it's just a "a girl can dream" thing and I want my dear Seju to run(fly?) away from this toxic mess as fast as possible, so kind of also don't want Sejumin to happen. I hope she finds her happiness with Dowon. Or she can do it as an independent woman too, whatever TG decides.

(I hope my rant doesn't come off as defensive shipping lol.)

@matsuri_wins I don't know how far you are into this i.e. if you have read the whole thing along with Paradise and the schedule of the planned side stories, as many posters have said above, Seju is going to have a new love interest in One. And many people here can't accept it, Sumin is OVER Seju and vice-versa. The last chapter of Paradise makes it crystal clear. And even if she isn't, I hope they never get back together, it'll be unhealthy af. Seju is my favourite character and I want her to be happy, away from Sumin and all of their 10 years drama. I don't know if you were joking, but a poly ending is the last thing that would happen in this series.

Not directed at you, but if anyone here still a Sejumin shipper, you gotta move on with your life sister, no offense.

As for the "Sumin still works at Seju's company" theory, if I remember correctly, Seju resigned in the last chapter of Paradise, so she has no contact with Sumin anymore.

You just shattered my heart into a million pieces. I suppose Sungji is not that bad...guess I will continue reading...at least I am prepared for tragedy now I guess :-(

I'm sorry for kinda ruining your reading experience haha :P But yes, I definitely recommend continuing reading the manhwa. Even though people hate it calling it only "cheap sex manga" it portrays the characters and their emotions brilliantly. And there is a level of subtlety that makes it even more interesting. One of my favorite manhwas for sure.

Btw, unrelated, but have you read "The Love Doctor"? If you have, I'd like to know your opinion about it, since both have kind of similar settings (Young girlxAdult woman, High-school-sweethearts-love-triangle)

So I started reading this story, and because it's so good I am paying for it on Lezhin and all. However: I now realized I prefer the SejuxSumin pair than the blondie girl, Sungji. Should I keep paying or is this headed in the direction of the most profound depression, as it seems to be? lol

Well, since you asked, I'm going to be a nice person and give you a heads-up.

MAJOR SPOILER ALERT, read at your own discretion:

Drop this manhwa as fast as possible if SejuxSumin is your OTP and you can't handle an ending with your ship sinking.

Seju cheats on Sumin/gets drugged and raped (one of the most important points of debate in this manhwa as it is portrayed very vaguely) and they break-up. Sumin doesn't give Seju any chance to explain herself as she is coping with her parents' death at the time and it's is too much for her too handle.

Even after their break-up, they are in an on-and-off sexual relationship for ten years, which does nothing but to help in the process of increasing the toxicity they had from the beginning of their relationship. As revealed in the flashback side story, during the course of their relationship, Seju is overbearing and controlling at times and Sumin is a shy doormat who loses all of her social life in the process of compromising with her. They obviously end on bad terms and have no possibility of getting back together.

TL;DR: SungjixSumin is end game. Seju and Sumin part ways for good (implied). Seju gonna get a new love interest in the next side story.

It sounds like you are at the beginning chapters of White Angels... it gets a lot crazier and nastier later on.

She binds people who she hates in malicious sexual contracts, and is later revealed to have tried to rape her own sister. That, and the extent to which the other girls bully people and manipulate people is terrifying. Yeonhwa herself also exhibits twisted ways of punishing bullies.

Actually I have read the whole thing. I was just confused about the "rape" because there was no nudity or depictions of actual penetration? (In my country penetration is the main criteria for rape, rest are considered as sexual harassment not rape.) She was just shown to have choke and bind the other girls and make-out with them. The farthest she went was touching Dahye's and her sisters boobs and giving them those nasty ass hickies. She had consensual sex with Ayeon. (She also showered with her sister but it didn't look like they had sex...?)

Obviously I'm not supporting her or anything I'm just genuinely confused. Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Btw, is there any word for reverse Pillow Princess?

... Power Bottom?

....

....

.... >_>

But isn't that when you are the bottom but you have the control? You'd still be the bottom. I'm talking about tops who are the opposite of Pillow Princess. Like the people who never like to bottom...

...Now I'm really confused.

Maybe some scenes of Moonlight flowers?

Moonlight garden doesn't have any rape scenes.

Seems like I'm the only one who likes White Angels lmao. But it had rape scenes...? Wasn't Yeonhwa just groping them or something? Did the sex actually happen? I am genuinely confused please enlighten me.

And Serenade has 2-3 rape scenes. So its best if you avoid it.

I feel like I'm the only one who isn't feeling these collabs. I mean no hate obviously, just that it doesn't...feel like a Mochi story without her trademark art? Idk.

You're right, it doesn't but I'm burned out on Mochi stories and stopped reading them ages ago so that's a plus for me.

Its the complete opposite for me so its kinda disappointing. But to each their own of course.

I have never, and will never top (unless my girlfriend is begging me to do it, in which case I would consider it). I also know people who would never let others top them (one said that the idea of being topped makes her as uncomfortable as the idea of having sex with a man).
While many people switch things up, others don't. It's not just "real couples do this, fictional couples do that"

Exactly. It's the opposite for me, somebody topping me might be satisfying physically, but I would feel kind of empty emotionally. The whole thing makes me uncomfortable idk why. Maybe I'm just weird.

People here are so desperate for some Yuri action that they delude themselves into thinking everything is a happy ending.

How I see, it's your typical "lesbian and straight girl bff" story. Blonde is straight. She was thirsting over whats-his-face, the protagonist herself admits it. There was no implication that she might have feelings for the brunette. She forgave her because for her their friendship is too precious to her to lose. I will give credit to the author for making this story realistic, for taking inspiration from something actually happens with queer women irl (happened to me too).

And I completely disagree with the person who said that the "Yuri Ending" was forced. Sis, there was NO "Yuri ending" at all.

I can't believe we're having this "bisexuals are toxic" "how to fight biphobic people" discussion again. Its the same guy posting this kind of shit in every topic and causing people to have these pointless back-and-forth-s. It's okay having different tastes and avoiding a particular tag (me with Lolicon and Futanari) but outright hating on a group of people in the lgbt+ community in a website mainly focused on sapphic manga? That's just distasteful. Can moderators just ban that dude, please?
