In ch01 they missed a gold opportunity. They could have just written:

Man, there's quite a lot of hints about everyone's backstory, if you know what to look for!

Glad we get to see backstory for Shiena here since she was basically ignored in the anime.

Agreed, it was such a shame.

And with this chapter Matsuri, the seemingly most 'annoying' character, gets it right. She is right, we know, Mei knows. And that's why she didn't punch her; maybe that's also the reason why she (willingly) showed some sort of twisted jealousy.
