and geez is there ever a lot of touhou in this one. the fact that saku saku tei used to work almost entirely on touhou doujins is REALLY FREAKING EVIDENT in this chapter. must have been fun for them to get to feature so much of it this time, considering the usual PreCure focus.

Still super weird the artist basically never (with one exception) did any Touhou yuri doujins tho. And also a huge shame.

And while some (I dare say most) of the loli stuff on this site is far worse than Kodomo no Jikan (and indeed some anime series even), I feel far more uncomfortable seeing the fanservice in this series. Probably because Rin feels more like a real person than a cardboard cutout, watching her explore sexuality with all the awkwardness of a kid is... awkward.

I get so sick of stories that basically play on Meiling being incompetent, shit on by everyone in the SDM, etc. It's lazy writing, and to me at least comes off as simply copying what a lot of other writers already do.

Eh, it's playing on the popular fan depictions of the characters rather than simply copying what everyone else does. The reason she's portrayed like that so frequently is because thats her most popular characterization in fanon after all.

This isn't one of the best examples of it, but I enjoy that version of Meiling. I also enjoy the competent martial artist Meiling depiction. I like both :o

It depends on the work after all. If this doujin had normal, competent versions of everyone who acted politely and were all sane and such stuff, it wouldn't really work as a comedy doujin, which is what it is. Now if she's portrayed as useless in a serious drama doujin, that would be a bigger problem.

Minor, I guess, but a couple typos/inconsistencies in the latest uploads:
Series name: Yuuka vs Byakruen
Part 1: Yuka(?) vs Byakuren
Part 2: Yuka(?) vs Byakruen

Fixed. For some reason Gaku Gaku called those doujins Yuka vs and not Yuuka vs, so for the sake of accuracy I called it that. But I changed the series name to Yuuka so we could have both. Not a perfect solution, but eh.

Eh, it tells me that they're fan made doujins that try to give a alternate depiction of the world, as they usually do. Some people wanna make very accurate doujins where everyone is exactly as strong as in canon, some wanna make fun brawl's where people punch each other a lot.

I think the best thing about Touhou doujins is you can have things where Wriggle is a punching bag bullied by others, and others where she has strengths and skills that secretly make her extremely strong, as seen as in stuff like Wriggle vs. SDM. The variety of genres from comedy to horror, diverse depictions of the setting, it's that kind of thing that makes them so interesting.
