If that's the highlight of the series so far, you haven't gotten far.

It wasn't a "highlight" so much as "this is ridiculous and the biggest example of how much I disliked it." Also, I read all of the first 112 chapters. So the main series in it's entirety without the sequels.

Saw a ton of fanart so I started playing a few weeks ago. I love it! I am a little stuck at this stage where materials for e2s are not quite possible to get yet and I'm in chapter 5. I'm a little stuck in a slow grind with how few stamina potions they seem to give. Currently stuck on 5-3.

So I skimmed through the light novel series after seeing this chapter and a bunch of recommendations, since there's a free fan translation online. I've come to the conclusion that I just don't get light novels. It's like a script for a manga but with less detail, mostly focused on very basic dialogue and gags, and the whole isekai thing just seems like a way for the MC to automatically know everything and have like 0 real conflicts/obstacles?

I wonder if the manga will have this scene, which honestly was just the highlight of the series and the only reason I don't regret skimming through it:

So despite displaying that the MC can do massive fucking stuff with earth magic (and bully can basically blow everything up with fire magic), idk how the magic system really works because the explanations for it are just kind of quick asides, her and bully girl get locked in a warehouse at school running an errand. They're like "Whelp guess we're locked in and can't get out! How inconvenient!" Because I guess the author forgot they had crazy magic or the door/metal lock has some convenient plot armor. But wait! Bully girl has to go to the bathroom! Oh no. So what do we do? MC makes her a fucking bathroom cubicle by like pulling stone from the wall/ground - but not like, opening up the side of the building and putting it back together after they leave, that's too easy - and it has a western toilet, with flushing power AND a bidet (cause she can use earth and water magic proficiently enough to design modern plumbing). Great! Bully can pee in peace except horny MC listens to her pee.

So I guess I just don't vibe with light novels. Hope the manga adaptation is better... Somehow.

There was a one shot that I can't remember the title of. Bunch of girls and one is constantly going overboard with verbal praise and affection for everyone so her love interest/friend always thinks she's just flattering her. Who's the author/what was this published in? I remember the art style was great.

This, mayhaps?

Nailed it. You're a saint, thank you.

I think the artist was trying a bit too hard to make it shocking, it almost becomes funny. It was interesting though.
I don't think the bags are Shio's parents as she is listed as missing. It seems she was kidnapped, then to hide her from her parents (who would have put the signs up) and police, Sato killed the people who owned a house and kept Shio living there. She wouldn't try and hide her in her own house if she was being looked for by police.

I don't know about trying hard, but I sure as hell found it to be hilarious. I was just waiting for the crazy to hit. 100% satisfied.

Whether or not it's Shio's parents, it's definitely the owners of the home. I'm doubtful that it's Shio's parents too. I don't think the kid would be nearly as cheerful if Sato had murdered her parents. Though I'm waiting for Shio to be revealed as a total psychopath as well.

Think the song is Zurui yo Magnetic today?

so it's not very representative of bdsm and it's resembling fifty shades of grey?

Definitely not representative.

Terms, conditions, and safewords are generally outlined in advance. Nothing is forced, and there is always a way out of the situation if you feel uncomfortable. Sometimes it can choreographed or thought ahead, where the participants are acting out roles and know what's coming. Interesting basic article here. What's depicted in this story is someone forcing themselves on another and manipulating them (ie: "I could have raped you, but didn't. Look how nice I am. You're such a little idiot. Let me control you.") Which, if you're into that in a fantasy sense, sure, go ahead. But it's not BDSM culture.

Writing quality reminds me of Fifty Shades. Lol. Reads like terrible FanFiction.

I think the comments explaining that this isn't BDSM are pretty necessary. There are a lot of misconceptions about the concept of dominance and submission in sex, especially with trying to reconcile that with true feminism (read: not sjws and fake feminazis) and autonomy. There's a lot of interesting articles about how people feel empowered and fulfilled when introducing healthy play like this into their sex lives. I don't personally participate myself but I think it's pretty fascinating.

Haha, also the nerve "Look, I'll not rape you... but I could have, lol." I guess I'm not into BDSM for sure. i always find it very unsettling if there is such a big imbalance of power in a relationship. If they switch roles in the next chapter though, we're talking again. ;)

This manga is not a good representation on how BDSM works. In an actual SM relationship, the submissive one has full control.over the situation and only gives that control up to the dominant one until they feel like it's necessary to take it back. Safe words and stuff.
Basically, actual BDSM is built on trust and this story has none of that.

Seconded. This story caters more to a rape/control fetish than a true BDSM relationship. If you were interested in a more realistic approach to BDSM the comic Sunstone is a lesbian BDSM story. It addresses the partnership and trust aspect as well as building a relationship. Good "wholesome" and accurately depicted BDSM seems hard to find though.

Kind of wish the tags were changed on this one. I have no opposition to content like this since I'm sure there is a desire for more forceful encounters but I think it should be properly labeled. Fake BDSM?

Sun Jing is actually kinda bad at this. If anything, she's gonna scare Qiu Tong away.

If this were Earth Girls she'd be the worst hunter.

You mean the one that got the harem?

Yeah, like Kidaha. She does have a bit of a harem going at her own school.

Also, look at how flustered Qui Tong is. Not necessarily bad. I bet she'll get a semi-positive response within a few updates.

lesbian porn aimed at horny boys.

I mean, that's kind of what it is. I'm surprised it even got to some coupling rather than escalating to orgies. But I'm probably speaking too soon. Orgies are coming, I feel it.

I thought "Oh cute, they said I love you. That was surprising." The art was pretty nice though.

I hated that movie. It was slow, boring, and part of it felt like I was watching a porno. Just made me all around uncomfortable.

I liked both D.E.B.S and But I'm a cheerleader.
Both are more on the comedy side. And are cute and funny.

The first one is about a supervillainess and a secret agent in training heroine falling in love.
Being a fan of Kigo ringed all the right bells with me.

The second one is about a cheerleader being sent to a camp to make her straight by her family.
She always thought that she was straight as an arrow... after all is normal to be grossed by her boyfriend kissing her, and is absolutly straight behaviour being enthralled by the other cheerleader doing those flips and jumps and those panties showing...

I still need to see Cheerleader, but D.E.B.S. is great fun. Totally over the top, which I appreciate.

Cheerleader is pretty over the top as a cult comedy. It's funny, sure, but not incredibly so. I think it went over the top in a "Scary Movie" sense.

also anyone who gives a good recommendation gets a meme so theres some incentive

Neither of those statements really make me want to recommend anything.

But whatever, here.

thank! gettin a few of those titles from my local library to check out. also i dont know whats bad about me being a lesbian memelord who wants to watch movies with my datemate? i prolly coulda worded the first statement a bit better BUT whats wrong w/memes yo

The first statement made me assume that you were a disrespectful fourteen year old boy. I've never heard the term "homo shit" come from any other lesbian in my life. Just try wording things better.

Could be interesting. I write short fiction & non fiction normally, and am currently collaborating on a graphic novel and a webcomic with two artists. I have a bunch of backlogged storyboards that could be fun to work with, depending on if our styles mesh.

If you can find me on IRC I'd be more comfortable providing my email there.

I don't how IRC works.
I can give you my email since it's a game account email rather than personal.

Before we start our story making journey. I want you to know a little concern I have when working together. The last few times I tried working with someone, the author ended up picking too picky with the art. They wanted me to basically redo every scene their way and very picky about every little details in the art.

That seems to be an issue with most collaborations, haha. Everybody has their own ideas. As far as it goes, I'm willing to provide storyboard information with script and directives, but I trust an artist to diverge as they see fit. Art isn't my forte, the writing is,so I tend to let people run with what they give them. The overall work has to reflect their own style and artistic direction too, otherwise they can't call the piece their own.

I'm usually more concerned with artistic ability and how well it goes together with my own take on the story, but I'll shoot you an email to see if we find it worth exploring.

I do art streaming a few times a months for my online friends on join.me. Maybe we can do something like that when making the main characters since they are the heart of the story. That way, you can give me input in real time instead of going back and forth through email.

For this manga, I'm aiming for a detailed but cute style like below.

Only 2 art references I have that's manga ish, most of my stuffs are colored xD I have the necessary tools to tone and panel the manga. I just haven't had the time or motivation to practice.

That style is way too cute. I'd be excited to work with you. I have a few questions on your comfort level with action and movement in the story - your art is certainly worth showcasing and I'd hate a hugely text and dialogue based story ruining it. Got any movement and background examples? Also, get back to me on the "feel" of a story you'd like to illustrate.

Okay, give me a few seconds to look through my sketches and answer your questions regarding the 'feel.' I'll email you since I don't want to spam this thread with crappy doodles lol

Email is best. Can't be giving away our story secrets so soon. I'm excited. I think I may have a few things you'd be interested in.

Buy an expensive set of drawing pencils and feel motivated because you spent too much money and are now committed

Bought a 200€ drawing tablet. Only helped for so long.

A drawing tablet is on my Christmas list because I'm not brave enough to make that purchase myself. I'm too afraid of being disappointed if I stop.

I'm pretty much only good at pet portraits anyway.

I ended up bartering to get biweekly art lessons so if you have any skills to trade it's pretty easy to find a teacher. My friends also ended up asking me for some charcoal pet portraits so now I'm stuck and have to keep going.

Haha, that is exactly the reason I don't want to collaborate xD My visions are too perfect, I'm afraid nobody but me can capture them ;x Makes inability to draw even more frustrating though x3

Just take up drawing! Practice every day, haha. That's what I do. I prefer to work with more talented artists because my skills are mediocre though. I had to search for an artist who was good at watercolors, I'm horrible at that.

I like to imagine that at some point in the future, their great granddaughters or whatever meet at the Gardenia and fall in love.

In my head it ended like this and not as horribly sad as it actually did.

Let their descendants hop on the yuri train.

There was no one else to be concerned about though, so it's kind of moot. It's also overshadowed by how perfect Akira is for Mamori, which is another minus.

Ah, but if Mamori would really be smitten with Akira she could've gush over HeelHold's skill or how great team they make. The fact she thought of Mirei first speaks a lot of how important Mirei is for her.

And what Nevri said about orgasming on sight. That's really hard to overlook.

Eh, I think you guys are reading too much into it. I mean, if I were to orgasm after seeing a naked Jennifer Lawrence is because I'm a perv rather than in love with her.

I think it speaks more to Mamori and Akira's compatibility as liberator and arm rather than any feelings at this point.
