I suggested this some good time ago, and it's finally here. :O
'Cuz Gumi is basically a big walking carrot and that carrot wants to be inside an orange right this very moment.
(For a more serious answer, the only thing canon in Vocaloid is their affinity to certain items, which was also decided by the fans.)
