Forgetting the ring was just a bad dream. Sato wakes up to find it on her finger as they board their flight.
In the town they go to hide in they meet a nice old lady, Sato gets a job as her caretaker and Shio helps. This lady has no relatives she's close to, after about a year she passes away leaving everything to Sato and Shio. Its enough money to live comfortably for their entire lives.
