I finally got around to reading the whole LN series and yeah, I absolutely want more of the anime. There are so many moments I want to see animated, like Adachi's meltdown on the phone, or her actual proper confession.
Speaking of Yuri anime with only one season, we need a second season for Bloom Into You. Like, C'mon!

^Hate seems like an oddly strong emotion for a very inoffensive series like this imo haha
Also too each their own of course, but personally I think this series has solid character writing and I love a good slow burn. So I really want a second season, and I think it's one of the best Yuri anime/series out there. I'd actually say it's one of my top 3 favorite Yuri anime.

@Ourdespair to be fair yaoi has some pretty strong animes that not only were popular the season they aired but they were strong contestants for anime of the year like banana fish or yuri on ice so it makes sense there´s more of it
i think yagate kimi ni naru is the closest a yuri anime has gotten to be mildly popular the season it aired
PD i´d also love a second season for YKN and adachi to shimamura

^Yaoi has also always been a lot bigger than Yuri in general, even before Yuri on Ice (and well the anime adaption of Banana Fish). Way more of a seller, and the Fujoshi fandom is a way bigger force than anything Yuri fans have.
I don't think Yuri can currently compete with Yaoi in general, but I think in order to reach wider popularity levels Yuri needs some anime that aren't purely romance focused. I really love Yagate Kimi Ni Naru and Adachi To Shimamura, but they're both romance centric shows and I think it makes them more niche. Banana Fish is a crime drama with gay romance, and Yuri on Ice is a sports show with gay romance, so there is something there for viewers who aren't into the romance in both series. Which definitely helped with the popularity of both, because from what I know purely romance Yaoi often does very well but not nearly as well as those two.
It'd be cool if we got an epic sports anime with a lesbian romance, a crime drama, epic action fantasy, something along those lines. I don't think they'll be able to really compete with Yaoi still, especially the world wide popularity of Yuri on Ice, but I think we'd see a boon in popularity if Yuri anime branches into more genres. Only downside is the more popular something gets the more awful the fandom tends to get as well haha
Edit: Also something that really helped Yuri On Ice? Pro Ice Skaters were into the show as well, they spread word of mouth and did videos about it. The love from these celebs of the sports world really gave it reach even outside of anime fandoms.

my money was on shoujo kishidan x knight tale, the whole chivarly thing was new, cool and interesting. It had a lot of fan service but it felt like a proyect born out of love, sadly i don´t think the manga is coming back anytime soon so that´s that

Ah I personally think Happy Sugar Life is really messed up, and yeah a lot of people would be pretty unhappy with authors like Itou Hachi. Though Yaoi from what I know has controversial content more frequently than Yuri. Anyways I hope there's some good unannounced Yuri and Yaoi anime works on the nearby horizon.
