Ngl, I thought the series was already serialized… I’m so dumb

With the first two pages, I expected the start of the story to be a tad different (different in the sense the direction is diff), but ngl I find it hella funny she went from

“I’ll win people over with my own merit”

To

“I’ll just bite people”

After going to school.

After rereading the both of the chapters, there are def things that are different so I’m curious if that’ll change things later on

Chapter 1 and 2 were released together in Akita Shoten's Champion BUZZ and chapter 1 has some significant changes on a couple of pages. Chapter 2 seems pretty much identical, aside from having better typesetting in terms of font consistencies and outlines, etc.
If the future chapters have more changes we'll probably do more of this version, and if not then you can just continue reading the self-published web version without missing out on anything.

Given that the novel is getting released alongside it, probably not. It's likely gonna be the same kinda thing as Tadokoro-san where the web version carries on as long as the authors are game and the serialization is mainly there for a bit of extra exposure.

The way I understand this is that once Ruruna turns someone into a kin, even she can't undo it. That kind of creeps me out a little. It's like Rununa is destroying the person and making them into something else.

Judging by the non serialized version, the person’s personality stays in tact (Wakana’s friend is still loyal only to her friend, she’s rebellious against Ruruna) she just can’t cause Ruruna harm due to orders

It’s not like who they are as a person is changing or anything, it’s more likely that Wakana like being ordered around

tbh, it felt like none of them were really under her control. i'm not even convinced that she can compel them to do anything less than not beat her to death. wakana in particular seems to have been desperate for the kind of connection that ruruna offered, her friend is iffy but there only because she's worried about wakana, and i feel like she could just leave if she really wanted to. ruruna wants her to like her though so she'd be annoying about it. the teach is a freak, i dunno what to say about her

Honestly it seemed like that was the subtext of the original series, though Yura's motivation might be more like "ok fine, if I want to get with Wakana I guess I have to deal with this abject weirdo she spends all her time around"

Almost forgot, “The novel”? I actually thought it was just a doujinshi all along, considering that there were so few pages for each so-called “chapter”, so was there a novel to provide more context before? Or is that a new thing? Not often when we get to see a novel appear after the comic, that’s for sure.
