Not really surprised that things are leaning towards the Maid being the chosen consort, I’m just glad the Priestess got her big “I’ve got to be honest with myself” moment.

That's all folks, it's a shame that the series didn't get a chance to get off the ground but it was a better ending than most series gets.

so while it's not explicit the ending slides do seem to pair up the witch and hero, and the princess and priestess. Which does work, though of course would have been nice if the story got to actually do something with that.

So what was the Maid's secret past in the end? D: I'm dying to know

Bit rushed but it's nice that the maid made it.

She should head over to the western kingdom and seduce the queen.

This feels insanely forced and rushed.
I liked her the most and am all in for happy ending but come on what even was that?

basically what happened is that the maid snowballed soo hard off rip and the whole voting system became moot and thus the story needed to end
saw it coming a mile away

Honestly pairing the side girls for no reason without any build up or context makes 0 sense. It also showcases how inexperienced the author is at writing. The story was doomed from the start by allowing viewers to pick the outcome. It limited to author's ability to tell a story. Hopefully they use this as a learning experience and come back with a better story some day.

None of those epilogues said anyone was paired up. Actually, each write up has them all doing their own thing, except for the Maid and Demon King. They listed them in pairs but that doesn't imply a relationship. The maid was listed on her own but she's not single. She's just the 5th.

I had some feeble hope she'd just marry all of them in a big cuddly polycule, but this is satisfying enough of an ending.

It was nice, but felt kind of like...wasted potential? The previous chapters seemed to hint the hero was hiding something, the witch has her background with the other nation, the maid's amnesia is barely touched upon...all these potential plotlines went nowhere in the end.

Volume 1 didn't get enough sales to justify continuing the series, the publisher just gave the author volume 2 to close up shop. We got a pretty good ending in that sense that it had to resolve the Maid's arc and also have the climax of the story, all within 5 chapters.

wished we got to see more of the priestess :(

i kinda felt this series was doomed to fail. with all the votes going to the maid most often, i cant see it retaining readership for those interested in the other girls and that would equal less sales overall. Maybe it would have been better for the author to set up the little more story on their own before opening it up to viewer vote. It was a fun and ambitious concept though so props to the author for doing it.

Even weirder was how easily they all gave up. The priestess felt like she was growing feelings for the demon king. The witch felt like she was just there most of the time. The biggest issue was you could remove most of the ladies and the story would be the same. On top of that since we didn't get solo moments with each girl with the demon I never felt like any of them really loved her, and the same goes with her loving any of them.

I have a feeling that the loss in viewership because of always losing, plus the unchanging nature of the story because the maid always won, was part of why the end fumbled. This just reads as "This really didn't go like I wanted" from the writers side.
