Hmmm I'm not particularly happy about this story, setting or other characters but I like this main protagonist a lot. I guess it shows a good protagonist can make or break a series. I might keep reading but idk human trafficking is not a subject I enjoy reading about.
Man reminds me of my highschool years and what happened when everyone found out about me. I hope we get to see more Akira, as much as I am afraid of mistreatment from the rest of the soccer team, I am interested in seeing soccer/5kun and how he and Akira mix.
I personally think Hime and Yukka are a better match for each other. The (very) heated and confused Hime, combined with the coolheaded and rational Yukka. On the other hand, I think the timid and shy Akira might pair well with the outgoing and ditzy yet very kind Taneno pretty well.
Agreed, though I think Akira might end up with that soccer guy. Yukka and Hime already have compatibility and they seem to get closer and closer each time they hang out together.
People keep saying these characters look like girls, but it appears people aren't looking very much at the art. The author very intentionally draws all these anatomically male characters with lots of musculature in their hands and legs in almost every scene they're in. Those are not the legs/hands of asian women. It's only their faces that look somewhat feminine.
In the top panel look at the shoulder positioning and the shape of the hands and elbows. Also in the bottom right panel look at Mogu's legs. The author really intentionally seems to put male musculature everywhere they can manage to do it without increasing the drawing effort too much. If they were drawn to be girls then those would be smooth rounded curves without angular features as that's standard for female anime/manga characters. As a straight guy it was something I noticed right away that these characters are not female body types.
Honestly besides the legs and the elbows, I can see why people say they look like girls. Shoulders aren't so broad that it could be considered boyish/manly. Hands aren't super skinny and feminine but again, aren't super masculine. I say this as an Asian. They aren't so distinguishable that we can really blame people for saying they look like girls.
I wish people read the tags and took the story as it is. Perhaps it was the combination of rape and age gap that triggers people? For me, in dynasty-scans, I view rape as an element to speed relationships (usually end up in a everyone is happy ending).
Hm. The thing that is triggering many of us is that all too many people have that sort of attitude, "rape as an element to speed up relationships", outside of the dynasty-scan context as well. It is one of the premises behind a lot of date-rape, as well as the fun laws that used to state that there is no such thing as rape within a relationship / marriage. Married individuals always having to be at the beck and call of their partners when it came to sex was codified into law for a scarily long time. So no, depicting rape as a way of "speeding up a relationship" is not something that many of us think should be taken lightly. The lolicon aspect here simply compounds the issue.
I mean everyone has their own taste, but I have to agree with Jtt. The idea of rape "speeding up a relationship" is a bit concerning. However since you meantioned "in Dynasty-scans", I assume you only have that view/idea here, or only in the fanfiction world. Well from how you worded your comment, it implies as much.
Because no women are stupid and barbaric enough to actually enjoy, let alone produce, garbage like plotless sex-only works. If you do, you can't even be considered a woman at all.
I mean, I understand that women aren't usually into stuff like this, but there are some out there, and to say they shouldn't be considered a woman is pretty harsh. Yes, most women usually prefer romance, and if they do like smut, they usually like it on the side with the romance, but there are also some who like raw porn, and even extreme things like this. Personally I stopped reading once that older girl slapped the younger girl when she told her to stop.
For people who actually claim this (who I know in real life): you obviously haven't read any fanfiction. You would not imagine the amount of rape and other horrible shit that female writers come up with.
At the same time, I do think that overall female readers appreciate more story along with their smut (at least I do). That's not to disparage the existence of porn without plot - I definitely appreciated it a lot more when I was younger.
Anyways I didn't really like this.
Yeah exactly, there are tons of fanfiction writers that write crazy stuff like that. I mean 50 shades was written by a woman, and I was told it was a terrible story/movie (never read/saw it) Though a good majority of females probably don't write about yuri. I bet you'd see more crazy stuff like this in the yaoi/hetro section written by female writters than the Yuri section.
Despise lesbian lolicon as much as lesbian rape. It ruined Kanamemo, almost ruined Strawberry Panic! and made Tokikago Yuri from Mawaru Penguindrum into a thoroughly dis-likable villain. Always vile. This is just hentai made for males anyway.
You'd be amazed what some girls are into.
As a girl who's into older girls and lost v card to older girl at a young age, this manga leaves me conflicted more than anything else.
Yeah I will admit I'm a bit conflicted. I am also young and into older women.......
I like the art but the story isn't making much sense to me so far. So she never dropped the guy? Uh.
Not trying to start the argument again (I rarely even comment), but I too prefer my Yuri without bi. No, I'm not biphobic -- I am bisexual myself, just like the person I'm with atm. It's just sometimes you get a beautiful yuri that ends up becoming het in the final chapters, and usually that's a bummer to me when I'm rooting for a girl X girl finale. I just didn't ignore this one because the art is beautiful.
Edit: I tried to add [spoiler] to my lesbian/bi comment but it didn't work T_T
Yeah I can understand why some people want lesbian and not bi, simply because there are series where it ends with a hetero relationship. However I am not opposed to bi characters, but rather opposed to hetero endings especially when the series builds up that it will be a Yuri ending. That's how I see it though.
EDIT- I am hoping this ends with yuri. It feels like it will but you never know with these kinds of things.
