People act like all this author writes is angst, cheating and ntr. I love their range like how they can create so much drama then create a lot of fluff. Seriously Naoko is one if my favourite artists.

IKR, Naoko is a big fav of mine too. I had fun reading all those surprised comments from people claiming it can't be Naoko's work if it's cute and fluffy, haha. Naoko has wide-ranging tastes, and she can work well with any set of tropes -- as long as she feels like it.

Speaking of which...
Anyone knows what's the deal with that thing with buttons called an [Insert Name of Person Here] Switch? There's one button for each character in your name, and, afaict, you have to say something starting with that character when the button is pressed.
It looks like the sorta game they'd play in tv shows, so maybe it comes from there?

Putting cat ears on Kasumi and making her play and cuddle with cats?

Perhaps they should change the title to "I Suspect my Girlfriend to be a Lesbian" now?

How about: "I Hope so Hard that My Childhood Friend is a Lesbian (Because Otherwise I Can't Date Her!)"

Every few days, we get two-three chapters of this and I'm on cloud nine.

Then I remember that after ch.56 the manna from heaven will run out and I'm like

Yay, a whole chapter dedicated to my favorite character, Asa-chan! I couldn't be happier! ♡ ♡ ♡

So my speculation was right: she really has a Marimite background. A realistic Marimite background -- not an idyllic "garden of yuri" arcadia where girl-girl bonding is actively encouraged, but an oppressive fundie hellhole where teachings are hardcore homophobic and anti-sex. And it seems her family life isn't much better. But we know that, deep inside, she's a lesbian... oh, the poor girl, coming to terms with her secret feelings and urges ain't gonna be easy...

(Btw, in the transition from page 17 to page 18, it looks like she teleported from Tokyo to Montevideo. It really made me burst out laughing. Just sayin'...)

Okay. I have to say this.

BLARGHEMARGLE??????

What in the name of Creation is "blarghemargle"???

Ayumi, dear child, you really need to work on your onomatopoeia...

Aww, Slap Slap Kiss -- the Japanese version.
(They are too polite to slap the other person, so they just bicker a bit before the kiss.)

One of the best exchanges in this chapter:

Kasumi says: "All I want to do in life is relax at home while eating delicious food."
Sakurako hugs her and immediately replies: "I'll work hard to earn a living!"

My fave was Kasumi saying that what she likes most is hearing the way Sakurako call out to her.

It’s such a simple thing that occurs in their everyday life and yet after five years of being together, Kasumi still looks forward to hearing her name from Sakurako.

And then... a kiss.

This manga is a masterpiece. There isn't any other way of putting it.

Seriously, I don't think any other manga has ever managed the tour de force 'A Room For Two' has successfully executed. We are at 6 volumes and about 5 years into the life of two girls intensely in love, and every development is a positive and uplifting one. No contrived conflicts here: no angst, no spats, no love triangles, no haters, no worries about gayness being wrong or unnatural or whatever, nothing but the simple happiness of loving each other and caring about each other with all their hearts. And it's one of the most exciting reads I've ever had the pleasure to enjoy, with nary a moment that feels tedious or repetitive or lacking in authenticity. Yukiko-sensei must have been blessed at birth by the yuri fairies with the gifts of brilliant storytelling and mastery of narrative pace and virtuosity at character development; there isn't any other explanation for this level of accomplishment. That's what I honestly believe.

You're right, you're absolutely right. It is extraordinary.

Most people tend to assume conflict is the one major literary element without which a narrative structure cannot move forward, and expect to see a whole lot of it in any good story. Writers are often judged by how many points of conflict they include in a tale, how these conflicts are resolved, and how neatly and satisfyingly the closure is tied up. The ancient Greeks already held "agon" (the act of conflict) as the central unit of any plot; and, even today, many contemporary critics believe that conflict is the crucial feature of any literary creation -- or, in other words, that a story simply must have conflict as an indispensable source of tension and drama to hold the interest of the audience.

And, well, to all these people, I guess Yukiko-sensei would reply like this:

haha-ha haha-ha haha-ha ah-haa BLLLLL ah-haha

I swear, one of Yukiko-sensei's favorite games is trolling the "they're basically married but are they dating?" crowd.

Each new installment seems to bring some new example of the depth and longevity of the MC's relationship while withholding the kind of "evidence" the skeptics apparently are waiting for.

... and by "evidence" they mean, to quote a previous post of yours, "the overt depiction of mutually administered orgasms" -- amirite?

Lol, this is not that kind of manga. Whatever naughty things Sakurako and Kasumi may do at night, in their shared bed, the author leaves it to our imagination. If that's what skeptics want to witness, in explicit detail, well... I'm afraid they are gonna hafta wait a long time. Yup.

That's so like Kasumi... out of all those possibilities she'd like to be a pet the most lmao

Heh, well, all a pet has to do is eat, sleep, and sometimes play with her human, right?

I'd say Kasumi can handle those responsibilities just peachy.

I reckon this was "author's message" chapter, what?
A whole chapter the point of which is to teach a lesson against discriminating gays.

Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Maybe it's just me, but... don't you think Kasumi's look, or rather, the way she's drawn, has become more adult? I get this feeling, when she and Sakurako are side by side, that Kasumi has gotten a bit taller and has slightly bigger boobs.
Sakurako, on the other hand, hasn't really changed -- except for her haircut and general fashion style. (I love those two dangle earrings she was wearing on her right ear in chapter 52, they look great on her!)

Loving the Mochi Au Lait x Majoccoid collabs~

Agreed. Mochi-drawn Mochi is a thing, and these collaborations are a different thing, but both are infused with Mochi-power.

Enough so in this case to make yaoi (not usually my fave) seem quite adorable.

But there wasn't even a kiss... >_<

Or rather, if there were kisses, they were all off-screen, just like everything else. >_< That's totally unfair. Show us more of the ecchi, geez!

the situation is gross, but the result was nice?... I'm puzzled

Often a possible description of Mochi's work.

Hahaha. Good one!

But... I can't believe it just ends like that...
There are tons of unresolved issues! How did Okino become a porn actor? What's gonna happen with him and Tanaka now? Will that video be a hit? We need more chapters!

We shall see. I'm not getting that "unredeemable" vibe from the character -- especially from the way Gin acts and reacts around her. Time will tell where the story's going.

Oh, Koguma... how M can you get???

(Answer: as much as Hino-san makes her, apparently...)

Imho she's a protagonist, not an antagonist. I think her character follows the template of: "The character who does bad things, but it's all because bad things happened to her before, so the other characters will understand and forgive." It's a very common role in Japanese manga, and, judging by the hints and clues so far, that's how Asa looks to me.

Very cute manga. The four panel format reminds me a lot of Azumanga Daioh.

It's not surprising. After all, Azumanga Daioh more or less invented the yuri-innuendoish girls-in-school slice-of-life four-panel-format genre.

“They’re all ♡ friends ♡ and sexual ♡ minorities”
Lol yeah right.

Haha. The Asa-Gin interaction in these chapters makes the "all ♡ friends ♡" bit kind of hard to sell.

Asa is still my favorite character. She really went all-out with the villainous act this time... but, somehow, it only made even more obvious that it's just a show. You know, I really can't figure what it is that she wants from Sumon. Why would a lesbian care so much about some hunky stud's love life? Why is she so adamant about making him date Gin? I wish Gin had the pluck to demand an explanation.

Next chapter we'll find about her past, it would seem. (Color me surprised: I hadn't pegged her for someone with a Marimite background! lol)
