Yes indeed, the correct time for a new chapter of this is about half an hour after a new chapter of The Ends of a Dream.

At the end of this chapter I got the feeling that I must've read it inattentively and missed something horrible, but maybe it's just a light interlude before things get heavy.

If I had to bet money on this, I'd call either So Do You Want to Go Out Or? or Hana ni arashi.

(If the question was which manga I would want adapted, I'd have The Ends of a Dream as an animated feature please.)

Real cute. I particularly liked that passer-by's "wait are you a couple" moment. But this is one of those stories that wouldn't last long as a series because all the charm is in a single encounter that can't be replayed...

If you want the option to pack maximum tear-inducing misery in a story , the teenage years of someone born in Japan around 1933 is a pretty good setting. Poverty, starvation, ruins, gangs of orphan children, shell-shocked homeless soldiers, the awareness you were raised in a world of lies...

edit: I (...don't...) recommend looking up a manga named Cocoon. It's a historically informed story about a class of schoolgirls during the Battle of Okinawa IIRC, slightly yuri and really fucking depressing.
