For what i could gather, she is a Player and wants to make a move on Asuka as well, or rather, she already did and we're seeing how it happened.
Yeah.
And I wonder what sort of conflict this will create between Asuka and Ayako...

I wonder if it should create conflict, as Asuka did that before fully realizing her crush / hitting on her mother.
In that sense the fact Ayako used to be intimate with Asuka's father prior to whatever relationship the two of them will develop.... ...I lost my point again, but I feel like I already made it... and with a double-entendre on top?

I love how the syntax of this post replicates the thing you’re talking about. Lol

...sweet irony, I guess. But at least my excuse is vertigo.. What's Taiyaki's? ^^;

But so many chapters/parts start off in the non-narrative-present that each time I find it a little difficult to re-orient myself to the story.

Reading the whole series straight through it’s not that confusing.

That may as well be the crux of it.
The whole thing may benefit from a one-sitting-reading, contrary to individual-chapter-release-readings.

Still, the various flashbacks from various POV (not to mention various character and conflict introductions, quite some of which still have to lead somewhere yet) and flashbacks within flashbacks make it feel somewhat incoherent and unstructured - which again, compared to the actual and rather straight-forward story-content, overcomplicates the narration. (again, unless that's some artsy style that eventually pays off; but so far the flashbacks have not resulted in any major twists and the most 'twisty' things, like the pres - for lack of a better term - taking advantage of Asuka, have been foreshadowed in other layers, heavily so ... and I kinda forgot what I wanted to say... ah, yes: I didn't mean it's confusing for its plot, but - as you said - for these "wait, when are we now?" moments...)

Either way, it's still interesting and enjoyable as is and I got it on my "gotta re-read the whole thing" list.

Edit: Sorry, am currently a bit dizzy due to sickness, so if I got repetetive or didn't make any sense at all, that may be why... Am gonna shut up now @_@

EDIT:
Anyway, I feel like most (if not all) of us in this sequence of comments quoting a previous comment may be infringing on rule 11?

If we say the boy is some sort of rival/enemy to Sun Jing (which, despite her hardest efforts to keep her cool, is implicated to be the case in her POV), then him wiping his hands off on her clothes (unconsciously ratifying that notion, albeit with a different reasoning) and the resulting string of comments could still be considered on-topic >.>

Actually, I did it because I was as confused as anybody. So I re-read it and wrote them down.

I adore and thank you so much for your investment and effort ^^

Chapter 10.1+a
* opens as a Jun POV flashback remembering when he asked Asuka about her father
* flashes back within the flashback to recall overhearing his parents talk about Ayako and her family situation
* within that he flashes back to a scene of himself being a little reliable boy
* returns to the scene of Jun asking Asuka about her father

Flashbackception confirmed.

I think, the author really wants to get something across (as one should assume) but got entangled in her non-linear story-telling a bit too much.
I don't mind the requirement of attentiveness to understand a good story, but unless "memory" or "perception based on [unreliable] memory" doesn't soon become a distinctive theme / cause for the events, this flashback-heavy style does more harm than good.
Flashbacks can be a very good narrative tool and can be quite useful for character development, but... well, again, unless something really deep and unexpected happens (or happened), it just makes it unneccessarily confusing, considering the actual plot delievered thus far...

Just because X factoring in Y equals Z doesn't infer X is inherently Z.
But the latter, in this case "breast sucking [being] creepy and lewd" was stated as fact. To which I still object (unless certain circumstances apply, which in the case of this manga, at least in my opinion, do not).

...since when is breast sucking creep lewd stuff? o.O

Yes indeed. How could someone who is not your lover sucking on your private parts because of a stupid lost bet be creepy? Completely preposterous!

Am saying, breast sucking in itself is not "creepy". Most everybody did it at least once (albeit as infants). And, sure, lovers do it all the time (#tryinghardtonotinvoke'suckingonmenschests'discussionagain). If done right it's a fun past-time :3
And, c'mon, we covered the consentual part plenty. Between those two characters, they are this >!< close to becoming a kinky couple.
Nothing creepy or lewd about sucking on dem oppai.
Don't shame the act. But - if you must - shame the actors.

(If you want to go that far, tho, anything could be considered creepy it's the wrong people... or not-people... or circumstance... but that's a whole different discussion ^^; ...kinda like that joke, how it's considered sexy to tickle someone with a feather, but how it's "somehow suddenly" perverted when the chicken's still a attached. >.>)

I'm glad that Kinniku-sensei listened to our complains and avoided any creepy lewd stuff like breast sucking and stuff

...since when is breast sucking creep lewd stuff? o.O

By now I've made up my mind (and cooled of my pants) and think it's cute and agree with the natural progression of the characters stance. More misunderstandings will happen as soon Hino's sure Koguma can take it again, but it will slowly but steadily shift to (more and more possessiveness from Koguma's side and) more and more protective and tender actions from Hino.

...not sure if disappointed or totally giddy over the cutesy and fluff...

Probably both. As others said, no real progress happened, but at least what was depicted was really heart-warming and sweet. (Admitably, more groping wouldn't necessarily have meant progress either, so ¯_(ツ)_/¯ ) At the very least, Koguma got another confirmation that Hino isn't just after her body .-.

Despite that, I kinda love how Hino was already at the door and turned around to fetch herself a (relatively innocent) take-away treat XD

I have looked up the last panel, and it says "Landslide catastrophically damaged the village(土砂崩れで壊滅的被害一城岩村)
" Perhaps the mountain goddess was upset.

That seems rather important - why was it skipped? Not even a caption below that panel.

Seconded. Years after the upload and I only checked this chapter's discussion for a translation of the last panel.
[IMO either it was the village's Karma (for trying to fool the goddess back then/locking her heirs up) or they got outta there just in time, now to fill earth with gals that can replace men impregnate women.]

You know it was already announce it was the last volume right ? We have like 3 chapter left.

Obviously, no, I did not... ;_;
Can we maybe possibly hope for a sequel with these characters/couples? (Or is the author really ready to move on? which would be understandable too, I guess...)

...so, 3 more chapters... well, it's been a nice ride so far, so fingers crossed for a great ending.

I wouldn't bet on the mother being a huge problem just because she called her kid home who ran off late straight from her job. Maybe she just wanted to preach her something about responsibility, closing the shop properly and actively telling someone where she goes instead of accidentally bumping into her sis on the way out...
I would, however, imagine some sort of sisterly teasing to come up. Maybe even her outing her little sis totally casually at dinner...

Don't teach your daughters to be scared.
Teach your sons to be respectful (not only to women but other people in general).

Or you can do both. Teach yours kids to be careful and respectful whatever gender they are. It's not because you're a boy you shouldn't be careful and it's not because you're a girl youshouldn't be respectful.

You are not wrong. I had hoped it was implied that both genders need to be taught respect.
But in many cultures (and families) girls are taught "respect" in the ways of learning to shut up, lower their heads and accept any and every unfair treatment given to them. (Victim-blaming is part of that culture.)
The type of respect I am refering to includes tolerance and empathy, a sort of "I am not the only one with emotions and desires", not meaning to cater to everyone's whims, but to acknowledge a common ground for interaction; if necessary both parties holding back unless a mutual consent is set, and not undermining (or underrating) another's value.

There's nothing wrong with being careful - I refered to that in my post as awareness. Teaching fear (or shame even), however, is not the way to do that.

What "target" are they talking about?

In the post script, I mean.

Kurumi. In Ch. 63 they told Randall they had someone amongst them who was immune.
Figuring it wasn't Miki was deduction.

Quite honestly, I just re-read some chapters and am VERY confused about the background and involvement of Randall (they own Aiostar Group, which ran the mall - important? just coincidence?), the infection itself, the role the river/marsh plays, hinted at past outbreaks....
As soon as I find time, I need to re-read the whole thing and hope some pieces fall into place then...
I'm not even sure Randall knows the school's water supply is a potential cure, although they may have figured out a connection between the water source and the outbreak in the past..? @_@

Don't teach your daughters to be scared.
Teach your sons to be respectful (not only to women but other people in general).

It's the same approach, but has a much better result for everyone.
Some people try to do it, but the bad sheep keep messing shit up - again, for everyone.
So we also have to teach our children to be aware and hope eventually society catches on.
Pretending nothing's wrong will not make the problems go away. If anything it justifies them.

This chapter I like. I wonder if there will be enough time for addressing issues with parents.

..."enough time"? Don't make my heart stop. Is this announced to be finished anytime soon?
With the new turn of events and just showing them learn to relationship, with these two wonderfully outlined and craftily inked-in characters it could - please - go on forever! (kinda like Kase-san, but minus the horribly-insecure-and-socially-inapt-albeit-adoringly-adorkable-in-her-own-rights plant)
I need happy yuri (esp. like this latest chapter) in my life... Please, stay!

i have trust issues because of gakkou gurashi and the mangaka...

...I feel you. This manga has me rocking back and forth in my chair, humming tunelessly to "You're my sunshine". ;_;

no one is talking about the kisses on page 11 + 12? Am I really on dynasty-scans?

...I ship KuruMiki, so I ignored it XD

Does kissing someone really help them drink water over just using a bottle?

When trying not to waste any drop of the water, when giving it to someone (mostly) unconscious, who's lying down... yeah, you'd part their lips with yours, are able to seal their lips with yours / have no area where water can spill and let the liquid pass right into their mouth. (Also, this guarantees sip-volume and enables a slow and measured flow, to not give the other too much at once as they might choke on it, e.g. when you'd pour hard to control measures from the bottle to them.)
It's actually very smart Yuki chose this method over using the water bottle directly. It might seem intimate but really is the most efficient method.
If in doubt, try to hold someone else's cup or bottle for them when they are drinking from it, then add "lying down" and "unconscious / immobile drinker" to the difficulties ^_-

I’ve just re-read the entire series, twice [...]

That's passion. For leaving proper and fact-checked comments, I guess?

Also, thank you, Blastaar.
I was second-quessing my memory of this manga, but seems overall I remembered correctly. ..still gonna take your example and will re-read as soon I find the muse & time.

[...]by that one firebender[...]

I chuckled. Thanks for that, Alexrain. ...I had a long day ^^;

[...]it could be that Ayako's parents wanted something different for her[...]

Could be. Not sure which direction the author wants to take. We know hardly anything about their family, including the father. It's all still rather vague at this point. (Personally I would prefer some loose ends with the other already introduced characters to tie up before grandparents entered the stage...)
So far I tend to the "she blames herself (wrongly) for her child's father's death" theory. ...and if Akira was involved one way or another (in a way for her to lean towards blaming herself?), there could be some one-time / almost cheating involved. At least cheating would be a moral crime, I guess.

Boi, this turned dark...
I get the feeling I'll have to re-read the whole thing before it ends.
That flashback feels like it's dragging out a bit (and kinda started unexpected in the first place) and without notes at the beginning of each chapter and time passing between their releases I tend to forget about the intended order of events...

There were certainly some things said and implied that could be interpreted a certain (dark) way, but there has yet to be anything actually shown remotely pointing into that direction.

I don't mind hints and hidden meanings in a manga. I enjoy it when attentive readership gets rewarded.
It's just, that if this is what this manga is trying to do, it's not very good at it. There is a lot of blurry arcs and notions and if one may implications, but some 13 chapters, several character-introductions and a lot of initiated plot-points in, there's hardly anything to grasp yet...
So I guess, it's 'enjoy the ride' for now. ...and maybe a re-read will help me connect the dots..?

Holy Jesus, ya'll have more issues than the fictional characters. All I was hoping to do was confirm if she realized she thought her daughter looked delicious and be happy over a new chapter, but its like ya all went full blown crazy.

Welcome to Dynasty? XD

I am still getting confused with the timeline here. As someone else mentioned, if this "delicious"-epiphany happened in the past, then why was she so oblivious of her own attraction to her in the (beginning of) the present?

Edit to add: Please, folks, I understand people have Strong Feelings about things but personally I'm tired of having to scroll through entire novellas as the same three people continue to duke it out...

...meantime, I am very entertained reading these kind of discussions >.>

Adding my two cents to that discussion,
I found this article interesting (albeit, it focuses on cousins)
https://io9.gizmodo.com/why-inbreeding-really-isnt-as-bad-as-you-think-it-is-5863666

We live at a time where we are so aware of potential genetic diseases, that perfectly healthy and un-related couples can (depending on your country, expensively) get themselves checked for a wide array of them, because we know the respective genetic markers might exist in anyone - but more often they are not. That applies to relatives as well. They might have 'bad genes' which would if present result in an increased chance of their offspring having the same "bad genes" with an increased chance of the actual disease presenting itself (heredity transmission). Non-related parents may not even be aware of themselves having a -shared- particular genetic disease and combined increased risk for their child - and there is no law sending all young couples to get themselves tested in advance, just in case. (Because, that would leap back to the already made eugentics slippery slope.)

Please note, that "inbreeding depression" is not refering to mental health of incest-children.
Regarding the latter, there are vastly conflicting studies about incest's effect on the offspring's mental health, depending on pre-existing harmful genetic markers in the parents and for how many generations the inbreeding lasted and many other factors

"Inbreeding avoidance" is a hypothesis (which is "a supposition or proposed explanation made on the basis of limited evidence as a starting point for further investigation") and not a proven fact. However for siblings growing up together there may be an effect in place which is called the "Westermarck effect" (another hypothsis, claiming a "reverse imprinting", which also seems to -usually- work with non-relatives growing up together - and there's a counter-argument to be made, that growing up in the same enviroment doesn't equal being raised with the same nurturing - which e.g. a simple difference/segregation in parental approach based on gender could suffice), whereas relatives that meet as adults may experience GSA (genetic sexual attraction - but as to why, there are only unproven theories).
The human psyche is very complex and despite all efforts highly unexplored. Both on a merely mental as well as physiological level (in this case, potential olfactory influences in choice of mating partner).

Psychological stress on related couples is not inherent per se, but caused by their socialized sexual and moral structures (taboos).

Edit: I swear, I started writing this (went away and got distracted a bit, beofre posting it) before we were told to stop!
I guess, I'll be there for the wet T-contest?

Nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
I really, really, REALLY hope the "chomp" is the sound a machete makes when slicing a zombie-head off. And Miki just fell over when the bloody corpse crashed on top of her...
PLEASE LET THIS BE A DUMPSTER-SCENARIO!

If these randall military guys now steal the little rest of school-water Miki found and Kurumi's last chance is gone, Imma go and cry. Over there, in that corner. Rocking slowly back and forth. Humming tunelessly to Rob D's Clubbed To Death.
Don't kill off my ship! ;_;

also the way miki on pg. 19 parallel on kurumi ch. 18 pg. 14 gave me the chills
