The author definitely knows about scene sequencing, and the fact that the scene where that question is asked is immediately followed by the scene of Toda cooking for Tanaka at home is pretty much the author saying to the readers, that yes, she is.

I'm guessing the girl at the end is Toda's sister, and going by her reaction I'm guessing that Toda ran away from home.

Yes, but I think it's only when she is with Tanaka? From personal experience, when you are living with a person with a disability, you start unconsciously adapting to efficiently communicate with them, which helps them open up more, and so on in a positive feedback loop.

Tbh, I was so impressed by the reveal that Akari's superpowered evil side is actually her own consciousness from a messed-up future that I, too, had been about to void my earlier gripes with this manga. But then I let the emotional high subside a little and realized that while this one idea was kinda cool, the story as a whole is still a mess. The villain is still monologuing and bragging at the heroine for no smart reason; the other heroine can now pull an "I win" card out of her ass whenever the author needs a deus ex machina, with no limit or consequence that we know of so far; and the dragon fight is still a delaying tactic that doesn't even get cool action scenes anymore.

I think you yourself put it best earlier when you said, "the author is just telling us about these cool ideas they thought up rather than designing the story for readers". The yandere-me-from-the-future is just that -- a cool idea that has not yet been well-integrated into the narrative.

Welp, the series just went off the deep end. Can anyone in Japan write a plot where a pseudo-Catholic church does not turn out to be led by evil old folks? I dunno, just for the sheer shock factor.

She definitely has a halo, but angels don't seem to have them -- at least, Liane doesn't.

I stand corrected by the latest chapter: judging by Glamor's halo, high-ranking angels do get them.

My theory is that when writing Gamma, Ogino Jun was supervised by a much more experienced writer/editor, which is why his debut manga turned out as good as it did. With that success under his belt, however, he seems to have been given a carte blanche to draw whatever he wants -- which turned out to mostly be his pet kinks, rather than quality superhero stories.

Why, thank you very much. It happens I did decide to write a book, which is mostly finished, but I've kind of lost momentum, so I find this rather heartening. Science fiction with a definite political angle.
